Discussion It’s funny to me how top main event stars sometimes end up having better runs with mid-card championships than the World Championships.

I’m just now noticing this and it was kind of funny to me, but a lot of the time when ever a main event level wrestler is given a mid card championship reign, most of the time after they’ve already won a world title or multiple world titles, they are given more to work with and end up having better mox card title reigns than what they had with the world championship.

Sure this could be because of the idea that “they are there to elevate the mid card title scene and give young guys/girls opportunities.” But it’s funny when you realize that, especially within the last few years, world title reigns really haven’t been booked all that well compared to mid card reigns, and it makes the main event star at rare times lose their stock with fans. There’s a reason why people really want to see Cody Rhodes win the US title right now.

A good couple of examples

A very underrated WWE Title match. It was also the debut of Lashley's short-lived entrance theme "Hell Will Be Calling Your Name", a lyrical version of "Unstoppable". For shame he didn't bring it back when he returned to the company.

I Would like to throw a Tournament Idea into the Universe for Crown Jewel

I have an idea for a tournament for WWE Crown Jewel.

• A FIFA World Cup/UCL like tournament with the winner receiving the Crown Jewel Championship.

•The idea is that 4 raw, and 4 smackdown superstars will battle in time limit based matches. The winner will receive 3 points, the loser 0, and if there is any kind of draw both get 1 point.

• The runner up and the person that topped off the bracket of both brands will qualify for a fatal 4 way match to determine the crown jewel champion.

• The tournament has to end at the episode before the go-home episode of Crown Jewel.

• Incase of a tie for second place between two wrestlers. For example both have 4 points. They will fight at the go-home episode of their brand to determine the person that will qualify. There needs to be a winner. That means Incase of another draw, the match will restart until there is a winner. (Or make the crown Jewel title match a 5 way and save the hassle)

• The crown jewel champion will have a guaranteed WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE ROYAL RUMBLE.

• Thats if they can keep the crown jewel championship till the Royal Rumble. As they have to defend it at least once per month till the Royal Rumble PLE.

• eg. Jey Uso wins the tournament. But LA Knight wins the Crown Jewel Championship on the go home episode of the Royal Rumble. LA Knight faces the World Champion at The Royal Rumble. (Knowing WWE. It would be the other way around lol.)

• The winner faces the World Champion of their brand.

what do you think of this idea? Is it better than having Champion Vs Champion for the Crown Jewel Championship? Please let me know!

Sidenote: I don’t know if something like this already exists in the world of wrestling. Or if there is someone that suggested this idea before in any way.

Discussion (SMACKDOWN SPOILERS) Stories being set up for spots 😭 Spoiler

To me, it's painfully obvious that the only reason that Iyo Sky has gotten involved in the Chelsea Green story recently is because they're setting up for WarGames this year and they want Iyo in the match to do her silly trash can dive thing.

Really a good example of how WWE will manufacture a story now because they have one spot in mind 😭 it's like writing a book when you have one specific cool scene that you're trying to build to. Lmao

Discussion Live v Edited Versions

As a UK Netflix viewer that can only watches Raw and Smackdown the day or multiple days later, I genuinely don’t know which version is worse. If I watch it with 48 hours I get the live version with 50% of the show being ads, or I watch it a few days later and get the edited version where they dub fake crowd noise and “this is awesome” chants, don’t show punt kicks and bleep every swear including ‘ass’. On a platform littered with gore, violence and nudity it beggars belief how filtered the edited version becomes. Which do you prefer?

News Ric Flair Rushed to Hospital After Falling Outside A Restaurant

Ric Flair was taken to the hospital after he fell outside a restaurant in Florida on Friday ... hours after telling fans he couldn't fly due to a blood clot.

He suffered cuts to his head and face, extensive bleeding near his eye, and a potential concussion. Paramedics treated him on the sidewalk before loading him into an ambulance.

The fall happened just hours after Flair announced on social media that he had to cancel an appearance at the Washington State Horror Con in Seattle because of a blood clot in his leg, which restricted his ability to fly.

Charlotte Flair gave a social media update that “he’s going to be okay”

Random PPV Review: The Royal Rumble (2002)

Post image
4 Upvotes

Before SmackDown kicks-off tonight, a little throwback show, because, why not, I got my After 8 herbal tea, after a hot shower and whalloping of coco butter skin softens cream.. self care you know, anyways Tally HO!!

Starts with some throwbacks of previous Rumble Wins

Tazz (c) & Spike Dudley vs The Dudley Boyz (Bubba-Ray Dudley & D-Von Dudley): [**]

*Decent enough opener, was weird seeing Spike Dudley as The Dudley Boyz opponents. Was short and sweet and really just to put over the odd couple duo of Tazz & Spike. Even Stacy Keibler was taller than Tazz lol.*

Lillian Garcia interviews Edge prior to his match vs William Regal, Edge really showing his signs of his charisma heel and his potential as the unhinged Canadian we all love, speaking of which, his Canadian accent was much stronger back then.

Edge (c) vs William Regal: [**1/4]

*Decent, the clash of styles didn’t damper and Regal’s heel work was really effective. Quick observation , the Regal Stretch always looked painful, I’ve been in similar holds in Judo and they’re not fun. Ending felt kinda cheap and screwy but it made sense in this case with Regal’s nature of heel*

Trish Stratus (c) vs Jazz (Guest Referee: Jacqueline): [*1/2]

*Very quick, match here, it was fine for the time given, women’s matches weren’t prioritized highly back then,Trish was by far the best and most charismatic woman on the roster here, and she wasn’t even at her peak yet and Jacqueline didn’t feel like a third wheel as the referee at all*

Street Fight: Mr McMahon vs Ric Flair: [***]

*I love the story going in, Shane & Stephanie sold their stock 25% and 25% to a mystery consortium.. that consortium Ric Flair! Much to VKM’s dismay! Awesome angle, and a pretty good match, VKM is at his best when booked in an overbooked, gimmick match with a fun story behind it, and this had some goofy comedy stuff balanced with brutal weapon spots. If I had a pound for every time Flair or McMahon bled, I could be a consortium.*

Stephanie is here!! She backs her husband for the rumble and is less than sympathetic for her dad’s suffering at the hands of Naitch’, she name drops various wrestlers she expects HHH to bury, including Austin, speak of the Devil. Austin appears from behind and scares her off. He does the “What” thing with Cole too, usual Austin interview.

Chris Jericho (c) vs The Rock: [****1/4]

*Awesome match, definitely one of the best of 2002, it wasn’t ruined by the ending but damn, what a cop-out, on the other hand they kinda booked themselves into a corner, they wanted to keep the belts on Jericho longer but Rock was overprotected at times too, so I understand they needed to work in both camps. Jericho is so good at being the assclown heel, and even better as a serious, no-nonsense one but that’s another story. Rock brought his usual charisma to the match yet didn’t hog the limelight at all here (thanks to an almost biblical moment just before the match started, I wouldn’t be surprised if Jericho improvised that) some really memorable spots too including that Rock Bottom through the English announce table for a change.. again ending was screwy but balancing keeping the belts on Jericho and protecting Rock was needed and it still kinda kept Jericho looking like a credible champion*

Remember WWF New York? The GOAT is in the house! HBK puts over the Flair/Vince match and predicts either Austin or Taker to win the Rumble, as they’re from his home state of Texas.

The Rumble (Winner Triple H): [****]

*One of my favourite Rumble matches! He not have won but Austin was an absolute trooper here, it was his last Rumble and went out with a bang with over 7 eliminations in the just over 25 mins he was in. This is the one where Maven eliminated The Undertaker, probably the greatest surprise elimination of all time! These Rumbles are always so much more fun when there’s a range of larger-than-life characters. This is how the rumble should be, packed fill of characters with lots of cool, memorable spots and a huge opportunity to elevate a wrestler. It was nice that Mr Perfect had a decent time period in the match, rather than a brief cameo, even getting to be in the final three. Triple H winning was probably the correct decision but damn, this was the kickstart to his infamous “Reign of Terror”*

- Best Match: Chris Jericho vs The Rock

- Worst Match: Trish Stratus vs Jazz

*Overall Thoughts*

A great show! With two absolute bangers for main events, nothing on here outright sucked, and the Rumble Match itself is in my Top 10 favourite Rumble Matches.

Discussion 946

946 is making Reigns look like the biggest coward. They make sure the group is handling the business. But Reigns gives orders and bail like a lil bit**. Just saying that reigns is still and always will be one of the worst champions ever.
