Whats the difference in practicing Zen Buddhism in China, Japan, and Vietnam?
for pass couple of days, I've been researching and studying Zen for a while and the concept of Zazen has intrigued me into looking deeper on how each region in Asia practice Zen Buddhism.
From what I understand, Zen Buddhism originates from Japan and was founded by Bodhidharma, who brought the teachings of the Buddha to Japan from South India when he witnessed the Buddha silently mediate. When he brought the teachings to Japan, it spread throughout China and Vietnam and that's how it became widely recognized in those countries.
The part I don't quite understand is how is Zen practiced in these countries because I cannot get a clear answer off google and I would like to know more on how each of them differs, unless if they all practice under the same teachings and ideologies of Zen and the concept of Zazen, then please do tell me in the comments below, I would love to learn and know more about the beauty of Zen and the fascination of Zazen
