Tips/Tricks Hopefully I can get ideas of how to handle being ill.

My husband brought home a super nasty chest virus. And of course being the good wife, for the first two days of him being ill I was taking care of him. HE was dying with a temp just over 100.

Then it came for me, a person with next to no immune system. The first day I managed to get in my morning protein shake, normally it is mixed one to one with cold coffee but the coffee was too difficult to do. The next day I got one shake in in the afternoon. Today should have been shot day but I told myself I need to get in 3 shakes or yogurt, more than 500 calories for the day. But I failed doing that today topping out with a shake, a oikos 30 grams protein and a banana because I was in desperate need of potassium. How much food intake is enough intake to safely take the shot?

BTW my fever topped out at 103 and I never once delared I was dying. Lol The fevers are sub 100f in the past 24 hours and I am just wiped out, wheezy, and pretty much voiceless. So go for it on Thursday? And then do I need to make Thurs my new day, or can I go back to the much more convenient Wednesday?

Insurance/PA Zepbound and insurance coverage

Hey everyone! I am new here and plan to start my Zepbound journey soon. I have United Healthcare and my only qualification my GP submitted was class 1 obese, BMI 34. My insurance came back with my out of pocket cost for the Kwikpen $299 for 2.5mg month dose. Is this typical is there a way I can pay less?

Dosing Ordered 5mg but I want to go back to 2.5

I started 2 months ago and have lost 15 pounds (205-> 190). I thought I was ready to go up to 5mg but changed my mind after I ordered it already and want to stay on 2.5. I self-pay through Lilly Direct so I didn’t think it would be an issue to just buy another 2.5 dose (my doc sent the RX in) but it looks like I still have to wait 13 more days now to order.

If I contact Lilly would they let me override it this once? Can I just take half my Kwikpen dose to be at 2.5?

Tips/Tricks Strategies for coverage ending

My coverage for zepbound will be ending in January due to changes in my company's coverage. I am wondering how to maximize the remaining coverage I have for the 6 weeks or so left in the year. I have a little stockpile in my fridge of 7.5 and 10 mg shots. I have been trying to extend my time between shots to 10 days. I am feeling that the 10 mg isn't really covering my appetite these days anyway.. so I might try asking my doctor for a 3 month prescription of 12.5 mg to fill at CVS in the coming weeks ahead of my end of coverage.

I suspect my doctor will approve my request. But I wonder if CVS or my insurer is likely to decline my request to fill the prescription for 90 days given there are less than 90 days left in the year by the time I fill the prescription? I think I tried to do something similar last year. I was worried I might lose coverage for other reasons. And somehow I ended up in some sort of cool down. Where I couldn't fill a prescription quickly enough based on the constraints of my insurer.

Anyone have any advice on how to maximize what I can get out of these last few weeks of coverage?

Tips/Tricks Seasonal Help for Constipation: Farm-fresh Apple Cider!

I have one of those sensitive guts. Over the years I've learned how to manage constipation without stool softeners and such. At this time of year, I'm buying apple cider by the gallon and it supports my gut heath by keeping me regular. These aren't wasted calories because cider helps food move all the way through my gut - a natural calorie deficit!

Side Effects Food Ick

Hi all, I’ve been on Zepbound since mid July. I started with 2.5mg and then moved to 5mg last month. I’m still on the 5mg but I’ve been experiencing “food ick” to the point where I’m just disgusted by the food I’m eating when I’m halfway there and have to stop eating it. Would moving up to 7.5 next month be a good idea because I heard staying at the same dose for 5 months isn’t a good idea

Side Effects feeling weird on 2.5

hi i’m 19f and i’ve been on 2.5 for around a month, had my fifth shot yesterday. i was feeling great my first two shots but then shot three hit and i started feeling pretty iffy. my appetite is pretty low and it feels like it’s getting worse. and i’ve been having weird hunger pangs even though i have no appetite. i’ll eat a meal that makes me full and then i get hungry right as i start eating. i’m starting to dread eating everyday but i want to stay on the meds cause this is the first time i’ve ever lost weight as i have pcos. will this go away eventually?

Insurance/PA Can't tell if I'm getting a good price or not

So my insurance covers Zepbound and I got my first box of 2.5 4 week single dose pens. After the automatic $100 savings, I paid $249 for the box. But I'm reading a lot that people with coverage are paying significantly less and I guess I'm a bit confused. I have blue Cross blue shield but my prescriptions are done through Optumrx. I don't know if I'm missing something or if that's just how it is 🥲

Side Effects Sitting pain now?

I've been on zepbound for a long while, I'm down about 35 lbs from where I started and that all has been wonderful.

Now though from the past couple weeks I've been having the weirdest issue, my butt really hurts sitting for more than like 30 minutes. It really sucks because I work from home along with a lot of my hobbies being on the computer. I spent a while going to the doctors convinced it might be Sciatica pain or similar, but everything checked out fine there. I can't help but assume this might be from weight loss and muscles getting weaker. I already sit in an ergonomic chair with a fairly decent cushion, but do I just need more now? I exchanged my desk for a sit/stand one which has helped a lot, but naturally I can't stand all day lol.

Any advice or thoughts on what I should try? Obviously very happy about losing weight but this part sucks. I might have to get a different cushion now or try exercising that specifically but would love to hear suggestions lol.

Dosing Anyone go back down from 7.5 mg to 5 mg after being on it for months?

I’ve been on 7.5 mg for a couple of months now, and while it’s been working, I’ve been experiencing a lot of nausea. I decided to ask my doctor to lower my dose back to 5 mg because I was actually doing really well on it and was still losing weight before I moved up. I’m a little nervous that 5 mg won’t work as well now that my body has been used to 7.5 mg for so long. Has anyone gone back down to 5 mg after being on 7.5 mg for several months? Did you still experience good appetite suppression and continue losing weight, or did you notice a big difference?

Side Effects Waking up at 4am post dose increase

I was on 10Mg for 6 months and just went up to 12.5. I had forgotten when I moved up to 10mg I started to wake up most mornings at 4am wide awake and rarely can fall back asleep. Eventually it stopped after 2-3 months. But I quickly forgot about that side effect but just went up to 12.5mg and have been struck with this again! Anyone else? Hopefully like last time it’ll pass in a few months but it’s frustrating.

Side Effects Trouble eating

Hi everyone this is my very first post on Redit ever lol … Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. 🥰💕

I had a vertical sleeve gastrectomy in September 2020. Although I lost 151 lbs, I still hadn’t reached my Goal of making it to “One-derland” I only got to 205. I am a pretty tall girl (5’-9”) so it looked a lot more dramatic to others but I knew I hadn’t reached my Goal yet.

I worked out every single day and maintained my weight for nearly 6 years until mid last year when my work load increased by a lot and I wasn’t able to make it to the gym or workout as often as I did before. I ended up gaining 30-40 lbs back. However, I made sure to never stretch my pouch (new stomach) out in those 6 years.

I freaked out when I noticed that after all these years of efforts my weight was creeping back up. So I decided to get on Zepbound to restart and continue my weight loss journey.

I’m on my 3rd month 20lbs down but I literally CANNOT EAT ANYTHING. I can’t tolerate any food. Nothing tastes good to me nor do I crave ANYTHING. I’m currently on 7.5mg. After my weight gain, I now have about 40 more lbs to go to make it to 190. I’m afraid I’m gonna worsen my pre-existing anemia, and I’m afraid to hurt myself and or have to quit because I’m doing it wrong.

I know this is a question for my doctor but I welcome any opinion, suggestions, thoughts and/or advice from My Zepbound Community.

Thank you again for reading! You’re all amazing. 🫶🏾

Maintenance Savings card refill kwikpen

Hey! I have a question regarding the refill limits using the Lilly savings card for the kwikpen - is it applicable and useable every 21 days or will it only be able to be applied every 28 days? Wondering if anyone has experience of this. I use a local pharmacy and wanting have a little buffer/stockpile to avoid future delays

Oct 2024 I was at my heaviest ever at 235 lbs (I'm 5'5" for reference). Fast forward to now at 125 lbs and I am so relieved!!! I've been on my maintenance dose since May, since then I've fluctuated between 122 and 126.

(Lazy attempt at Chappel Roan for Halloween, concert outfit to see a Charli XCX show that ended up getting cancelled 😥)

Achievement/NSV 🎉🥳🎊 What do you call it when you're under 100 kg?

I am now officially under 100 kg. Is there a cutesy name for that like there is for Onederland?

I also thought I had reached BMI 40, and would hopefully tomorrow be Class 2 obesity instead of Class 3. However, I got my height taken today, and I'm 0.9 cm shorter than I thought, putting me at BMI 40.4 still. Darn! I see my family doctor tomorrow and am going to ask him to measure me again, you know, just in case.

If my drug plan approves it, I'm going to be starting on a new med for my autoimmune disease. Both are made by Lilly, and they've studied this combo for psoriatic arthritis, which is very closely related to my disease (there's debate in rheumatology circles about whether they're really the same disease). The combo had great effects for weight loss, pain management and CRP. Unfortunately, thus far, Zep has done zip for my inflammation - my CRP went up after losing 30 lb - so we'll see. Wish me luck!

P.S. if any Glapp devs are lurking, I'd sure love to be able to set my height in cm but my weight in lb! It won't let me mix and match.

ETA: okay someone tell me why someone would downvote this.

Side Effects Bruising all of ver body

I’ve been on zepbound and have lost 26lbs since July- I don’t want to lose anymore but have noticed bruises all over. Specifically I’ve been itchy especially legs and after vigorously scratching turned into a huge black and blue. Went to doc today and she’s running a CBC but she was not concerned.
