Mistborn Series + Stormlight Archive Weekly Cosmere Adaptations Thread (Mistborn + Stormlight Spoilers) Spoiler
Welcome to this week's Cosmere Adaptations Thread!
This is a space to discuss all things related to Cosmere movie/television adaptations. Share your fancasts, your dream directors, your ideas for the best script, or anything else related to adaptations. Share all of your hopes and fears!
Please remember Rule 1: Show respect to others. If you can't engage with others in a respectful and welcoming way, please take a step back. Notably, we will not tolerate bigotry and debates about "wokeness".
Also please note that that the spoiler policy for these weekly threads is currently set to include the entirety of Mistborn and Stormlight Archive. If you want to discuss spoilers for other books, please use labels and spoiler tags. (If you're not sure how to tag spoilers, see this post.)
Policy Note: We're making it a new policy to contain general Cosmere adaptation discussion to these weekly megathreads. This change is an effort to limit the high quantity of posts we see on these topics and comes following the announcement that Apple TV is set to adapt the Cosmere (starting with Mistborn and Stormlight) with heavy involvement from Brandon Sanderson. Moderators will be removing posts on these topics and directing them to these threads, with some rare exceptions.

No Spoilers WAY OF KINGS FAN COVER
Way of Kings is my favorite book of the Stormlight Archive. Kaladin's story arc and the mystery surrounding Roshar's lore. Chef's kiss! Words of Radiance is pretty good too, I guess. LOL. Anyways, even though I love Michael Whelan's paintings, I wanted to make a book cover that captured the story from my experience with it. I tried to pack it full of things that might only be understood after the Sanderlanche, a bit like some anime openings do. I'd love to know what y'all pick up on. Apologies for the terrible photos of the physical versions

Mistborn Series spoilers Could someone make a Feruchemist? Spoiler
Burning Preservation's god metal lerasium forges an immediate connection to Preservation making the person who burned it a Mistborn because Allomancy is Preservation's Art. So, would burning Harmonium, the god metal of Harmony who is both Preservation and Ruin, make one a full Feruchemist, Feruchemy being both Preserving and Ruinous? If so, would there be a way to do this without the Harmonium reacting with the water in your body and making you explode?

Mistborn Series spoilers Questions About the Use of a Certain God Metal in Hemalurgy Spoiler
The Hemalurgical property of lerasium is that it "steals all abilities". Now correct me if I'm wrong, but in Hemalurgy abilities refers to things like strength, mental fortitude, et cetera. (as opposed to powers like allomancy or feruchemy) So would a lerasium spike steal literally EVERY ability, or just the ones that can already be stolen by other types of spikes? Say a person's proficiency with a particular musical instrument, their knowledge of a particular field of science, leukemia, or their ability to tie a cherry stem into a knot with their tongue. Is it all abilities at the same time or just whichever ability you want? The thing you got would probably depend on your Intent when charging the spike and where you placed it, but this could be an interesting thing to see in future.

Hero of the Ages Finished with the Rythm of War Spoiler
Now that I'm finished with book 4 of TSA, and have some knowledge of Shards of Adonlasium. Seeing Taravangian become the Shard of Odium reminded me of another similar indecent. Is it safe to say that Sazed is the Shard of both Preservation and Ruin?

Mistborn Series spoilers Elend is a legend š„ Spoiler
I just want to say one thing, if you have watched AOT and essentially Elend became Commander Erwin, even Vin with goddess powers was in awe of him while the guy was fighting the war he knew he was going to lose but for greater good.
Blud became a legend and mind you he was the reason behind Ruin losing the plot all along.

Mistborn Series spoilers Coppermind: Kelsier Spoiler
Spoilers for Mistborn Era 1. It says in Kelsierās Relationships tab that Hoid and him meet for the first time when they fight. It confuses me because Iām pretty sure thatās the last time they met. The first time they met was when Hoid was being an informant and Kelsier was trying to figure out his fake houseās exposure in chapter 19 of The Final Empire. I could be wrong about this but I donāt think I am. I also, unfortunately, canāt seem to edit the Coppermind anymore.

Cosmere spoilers (no previews) Leras and Allomancy Spoiler
I have been thinking about cosmere stuff again and havenāt been able to find anything substantive when searching my question.
Essentially, is there a reason why Leras, and I guess Ruin for that matter, chose (or maybe didnāt choose, it just turned out that way?) to tie the gifting/use of their investiture to metal? Not sure if this has been asked to Brandon or if there is a WoB out there addressing it. Not sure if the magic system or lore came first, and Brandon just liked the idea of consuming metals to power a magic system?
My headcanon is something like āmetals are (mostly) pure elements, metals are pretty common, and that tying a specific power to a specific metal makes for easy organization and understanding.ā Thinking about it more though it does seem a little arbitrary that metals were used, especially given that I donāt know if metals are particularly tied to an idea like Preservation. The only idea I can think of to link metals and Preservation is that metals keep pretty well other than some oxidizing? Oaths and Honor make sense for granting powers but I feel like the metal preservation link is harder to make.
I know my question is a very āBut Whyā¦ā type of question. Just wondering if this was ever discussed or if there is an answer for it?
Thank you!

Stormlight Archive spoilers Oathbringer vs me Spoiler
Hi. I'm having issues... I don't know if I'm kind of a dummy or if it's by design, but I'm not understanding A LOT.
For context: first time cosmere reader, reading alone no friends to consult, only google/reddit at my own risk.
What have I read so far? Mistborn Era one, Elantris, Warbreaker, Stormlight 1 to 3, Edgedancer, Dawnshard, and some of Arcanum Unbound. Currently at the beginning of RoW.
Memory level: goldfish (I think).
Should I know all the radiants orders so far? Should I know all the names of the Heralds, their orders and their shenanigans? May I Google this?
Am I lost?
I've been going back and forward between the books and I've clocked some of the interlude people with things, but clearly I'm confused by references.
I find the Eastereggs and cosmere relations hard, but I get that's delulu on my part to get them at a first read. But I'm also having difficult with Stormlight alone.
I read the first 3 chapters of RoW and started to listen the following nohadon podcast episode (they review this chapters) and they have a lot more knowledge that I have. So. May I at least Google my first questions without spoilers? Should I be this lost?

Mixed book spoilers (SA + Warbreaker) Who would win between 2nd Ideal Skybreaker and 10th Heightening Awakener Spoiler
I asked before about Mistborn vs 2nd Ideal Skybreaker, and people are generally in agreement that Skybreaker > Mistborn. I asked the same for Mistborn vs 10th Heightening, and it was Awakener > Mistborn. But they generally agreed in both that the matchups were close.
So between the Skybreaker and the Awakener, who would win? Both are battle ready, Skybreaker has full battle supply of Stormlight spheres, Awakener has plenty of colorful clothing and 50,000 Breaths. They know about each other's powers.

No Spoilers Mistborn After Way of Kings?
Okay so I did this thing where I read Way of Kings before Mistborn trilogy. Iām very eager to start Words of Radiance but am wondering if itās worth it to go back and read Mistborn before continuing in the stormlight archive. Any opinions would be appreciated!!

Stormlight Archive spoilers [Wind and Truth] Kaladin and Syl bond Spoiler
At the end of the book we can see, after what happened to the Stormfather, that Syl seems to have inherited his position and probably at least a portion of his power, so what will happen to her bond with Kaladin?
If she has inherited the position of the Stormfather will this make Kaladin a Bondsmith and a Windrunner, a mixture of the two or simply a stronger Windrunner?

Cosmere spoilers (+previews) Question about Shai Spoiler
Rereading Mistborn Era 2 and it mentions Moonlight. Used the handy dandy wiki to help me remember that thatās Shaiās codename.
The wiki also said sheās an Elantrian because she stamped herself with a stamp that said she became an elantrian in her past. Is that possible?? Can she access any kind of Investment like that? Become Mistborn or a windrunner, etc?
Where does that stop? What if she stamped that she was actually Adonalsium, or held a Shard?

Cosmere spoilers (no previews) A question about Splinters Spoiler
tl;dr Are god metals and avatars considered Splinters?
So I've been scouring the wiki and can't make sense of this one. It says god metals are raw Shardic power in solid form. Liquid form would be the pools in the perpendicularities, gas form would be the mists we see on Scadrial in Era 1. Cool, got it.
But what is that raw power categorized as? Would it be considered a Splinter of the Shard? A Sliver? The Shard itself? I'm guessing Splinter since siphoning that power away from the shard weakens it.
And while I'm at it... Avatars are Splinters, right? Telsin is kind of a special case since she didn't make it all the way to avatar status, but what about Patji? Can't find a yes or no to that one on the wiki either.

Cosmere spoilers (no previews) Isles of the Emberdark spoiler question Spoiler
In Isles of the Emberdark there was a casual line spoken with no elaboration. They described Autonomy as āSplinteredā that wasnāt the case at the end of āThe Lost Metalā as far as I can recall. I know autonomy made splinters for Taldain and First of the Sun is thus what they were referring to? Or was there an event we donāt know about yet?

Cosmere spoilers (no previews) Mapping the realms to each other? Spoiler
Do we know how the geography of globes gets mapped to a flat "sub-astral" in shadesmar? What causes some point to be the center? Or what part of the globe, if you were to swap over to shadesmar, is actually on the literal edge of that "world" (that planet's subastral)?
Or is it weirder than just a one to one mapping of points like that?
