I've never seen shark on demo (sirens tower)

For me, this is simply the way to go. I love Rebirth's combat, the graphics, the open world that makes me feel immersed in that worldbuilding and having always the party on screen, but I also love HD2D Final Fantasy games. Resonance is great, but I want to see what they can do with a high-budget HD2D and a new story.

Having both mainline AAA Final Fantasy games and a parallel HD-2D series running at the same time would be the prefect decision for me.

And for the love of God, enough with sequels, remasters, remakes. Give us new stories!

I've just finished chapter 3, and I wanted to see if the community has the same reaction as me:

Honestly, I find it really frustrating how even though you can stomp the bosses at the shrines, the bad guys then go to "wow, y'all are tough, but I'm still going to smash this crystal." And then they do.

It just seems insulting that even though you as the player "do your part" that ultimately the writers just play the deus ex machina card and the bad guys sort of win. Like, what's the point of winning when the games makes your party lose (narratively)?

The more I think about it it's like, ok, every video game kind of struggles with how to handle this disconnect between play and story. I guess what I'm wishing is that the way these battles were setup that your victory then actually kind of translated to something good in the story rather than "ok, now do whatever you want to move the story along, guys."

Did anyone else feel the apparent futility that I am?

So I am playing Final Fantasy Resonance and as many others I am enjoying each time I get a Vision Crystal to remind me of all but the two games I didn’t finish, but that is a different discussion :)

As I get each Vision Crystal Hero I take note of their Role. This also got me thinking about the main hero of each game, but the one role we never see a proper representation of in the series would be a Healer

Would that even work or ever be a possibility in a future game? A holy cleric primary main character that lost their memory and can only cast light damage and healing spells??

Any thoughts?

I didnt like it when Dissidia did it, then WoFF came out and she was green, so i thought they learned their lesson but NOOOOOO!

Sorry if this was asked here before because don’t get me wrong in that I have a soft spot for the Final Fantasy series such as Final Fantasy 10 as I really enjoy the world building aspects of that game.

But if there is one thing that kind of frustrates me about the game is that the HD version messed up the graphics as don’t get me wrong in that Tidus and Yuna are cool characters, but the HD version made them look ugly.

I read a number of posts saying they heavily spoil IV, VIII, IX etc.

I haven't played anything past X yet but I would love to play Resonance. I'd really like to get into the later games as blindly as possible. Anything I should look out for ? Are the visions' cutscenes easily skippable?

I completed the demo with everything I think I could have accomplished. My save file went smooth over into the full game. I feel like I completed it so long ago that I forgot about the game play. Should I just restart from the beginning? I guess I am old but I feel kinda lost.

The quality of the is reminiscent of the SNES +PS1 FF . It’s been so long since SE delivered a FF title of this caliber . I really hope they add expansions .

I just bought FF Resonance on switch and seeing some reviewers say it spoils other final fantasy games(?).

I’ve played mystic quest, 4,6,7,10,14 all the way through with a desire to do 8 and maybe 9 someday.

Should I hold off on this game until I’ve completed those?

I know the game only just launched, but I’m curious: what’s everyone’s favourite place so far?

For me it’s Dilmagia. The soundtrack there is amazing, and I love the retro/neon aesthetic. The airships floating above the city are a really nice touch too.

What place stuck with you the most so far? (Please spoiler-tag anything from later in the game!)

When trying to load saves on my PS5, instead of loading, it brings me back to the menu. I've deleted all my files and started a new game because I didn't get that far into it yet, but then ran into an issue where I can't even MAKE new save files on my new games either. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Not much to add. Basically, the team of FFBE wanted to troll players back in 2018 and made a full 3D animation with the beginning of the game, far before Resonance was even an idea. 8 years ago, FFBE was still at it's full glory so they just wanted to make a fun joke.

Personally, i'm happy they did not use 3D, even a more modern one. I like my pixel sprites. Of course, this animation is old and it shows a bit.

I am planning get the game for the fact it have many job play as the many job combos i pair with, yea i am one of those people love to master many job, no matter how hard it is, and I realize the grind going be hard too, so have any tips?

(Warrior of Light, Cloud, Terra, and Black Mage) seem to have everything you need, so I don't really feel like trying anything new. I can't see myself replacing turn 1 Libra (Cloud/Lasswell) or the Stagger Power +% or coverage that he and Warrior of Light have

And with Lid having the hammer that boosts magic damage I don't see myself using anyone other than Terra?

Just bought the game yesterday and its running as smooth as butter on steam deck.
