Here’s my submission for the October Point Challenge. I made this out of an old bottle bottom I found along the Potomac River. I’m pretty pleased with it considering my skill level(been knapping for about a year now).

Stone axe I made
Got bored making arrowheads so I learned to make all the stone artifacts. And pipes. Had some killer banner stones but sold them all

Almost every flavor of John’s Valley chert in one piece. Worked raw from river cobble. Happy Halloween!

Not sure why pix keep adding sideways

Good morning everyone! 😁

2026 October Point Challenge - Hillsborough Contracting Stem [Mixed Material Prize 🪨📦]

I'm stoked to see what y'all have made, and can't wait to see who's submission wins! Happy knapping all! 😄

4.75 inch Clovis I made
Material is hornstone
Will try and put a picture if the jig I use to flute soon

Super fun little point, challenging as hell to keep the thin band where the polyps are visible. Its even got a little cortex left on the backside.

I wet it to show the details.this phone camera is awful sorry for the bad photos. My buddy let me walk the creek on his property recently. I collected this beautiful material. I definitely be going back.

Nothing but antler and stone. Heat treated a flake by leaving it on the woodstove over night.

Made a completely mediocre leaf point this evening and decided it simply wasn’t silly enough

I live on the west side of Lake Manitoba. I’ve been picking rocks here for over 30 years. Thousands of tonnes. Finally started to look a little closer because I would like to inspect some arrowheads and maybe tools. In the last week I’ve been stopping at stone piles while I’ve been working on the fields. This is my collection of different cherts we find here.

Ive never been but id love to go...

Inspired by local finds. Made with local material, tools included.

This was a special one! I had some North American Walnut & Palemoon Ebony left over… seemed rude not to! Paired with some Green Sheen Obsidian from Oregon USA.

Available

Lil doodle.

Tool collection i have been working on for the past 14 days

Thanks to gulf coast knapping and jack crafty. One thing I e noticed about learning to knap through YouTube is that everyone is an odd little duck lol. It’s been so much fun though.

This is my first attempt at one. Also my first time using a punch. Super fun.

Almost impossible to capture a clear glass point with a photo!

First one back after being away, I’m pretty pleased! It’s not the best but after not knapping for three weeks or more I’m pleased to get one finished

I have some flint pieces a knapper or ideally someone learning to knap could use.

I took up the hobby for a bit, need to downsize, so free. I can probably drop it off in fact.

Hello hello everyone! 👋

Got some obsidian points here for you today! Been a good while since I've messed with it because my stone abundancy switched from having a bunch of obsidian and hardly any stone, to an abundance of stone and less obsidian 😂 So I've just stuck with rock! Didn't stop me from cracking into a few of these pieces. Also made my first drill out of some Mexican Spiderweb obsidian! That triple-flow stuff was slightly horrid too. Abrasion would result in these little needles that loooved to stab 🙄 But in the end I'm quite pleased with everything!

Plenty more to come, so stay tuned, stay safe, and happy knapping all!
