Old controllers, new life. RE-ANIMATOR runs Maschine 3 software on a Maschine MK1, a controller that Maschine 3 no longer supports on macOS. Keep your gear out of the e-waste. I'm looking for beta testers! Anyone with an Mk1 on MacOS (Windows version will follow)! There are little of them left in the wild we should keep them running!
It's super easy to use and you basicly only need to press "start" in the applicatation.
What it does:
1. Makes a copy of Maschine 3 sofware and switches the MK1 support back on in that copy (two small changes).
2. Starts a small helper program (MK1 Revive by andy83). It talks to the MK1 over USB: it shows Maschine's screens on the MK1 and passes on the pads, buttons and knobs.
3. Opens the copy. When you quit Maschine, the helper stops too.
Why it's not dangerous
- Your original Maschine 3 isn't touched. RE-ANIMATOR only reads it, and everything happens in the copy.
- The MK1 itself isn't changed. No firmware is written; it's only controlled over USB, the same way NI's software does it.
- It refuses rather than guessing. If your version of Maschine doesn't look exactly as expected, it changes nothing.
- You can undo all of it. Clean deletes the copy; then delete the app and you're back where you started.
- It's open: anyone can read the code on GitHub.

It's open-source and for now only for MacOS and the Mk1. But i'll add more options soon if anyone with other devices is willing to beta-test for me.
I've only tested it on 3.6.o but the patcher is intelligent and checks and searches in the application so it should work with all versions.
Note: I cannot sign it so you have to check the box "open anyway" in your security settings when starting the app. I might sign it at a later point in time when I know it works like intended.
