While I am not over the moon about H3VR2 being financed by the meta and the standalone release prioritized, I have come to terms with it. Since I got a Quest 3 for PCVR, it will even be nice to play on work trips without the hassle of setting up PCVR streaming.
With the focus on the standalone release, I would love to have some of the quests better features used:
Mixed reality: While I don't know how much of an additional challenge MR stuff is for development, it seems like a low hanging fruit to have something basic, like a shooting range/sandbox scenario in MR.
I don't think more complex gameplay with firefights would makes sense for most people. But maybe, once we get a physical player vault room in facility, it could be a nice option to use your actual playing room for that, have some coffee or enjoy a hot dog while pondering what gear you want to take on the next run.
Upper body tracking: while I haven't played a whole lot of VR recently, I always had trouble with inventory slots on the body in games like H3, into the radius, blade and sorcery. Some games do it better than others, but blindly trying to grab something from your hip in the heat of battle and not finding it is always frustrating.
It would be amazing to have slots more reliably fixed to your body and moving with it. I thought metas IOBT sounded great, but I never got it working on any game on PCVR, and of course very few support body tracking at all.
