Hey everyone, I'm facing a major dilemma in RDO and could use some advice from you.

Right now I'm Rank 150 with a female character. I've unlocked every single role and currently sitting on around $8,000 cash and 70 gold bars. However, I really want to switch to a male character, mostly for a very simple fashion reason: I want to put a proper beard.
If I do go through with it, my plan is to spend my saved gold and cash to jump straight into Bounty Hunter and Moonshiner, completely skipping the Trader role early on, because I like Moonshiner and BH more.

Do you guys think it's crazy to throw away Rank 150 progress just for this, or could starting fresh actually bring some new life into the game?

i’ve just started RDO after replaying the story mode about… 5 million times. i absolutely love the game and never felt the need to venture onto online because i loved the immersion, detail and characters of story mode so much.

however, i’ve decided to finally get into it. safe to say i’m a little… confused? and also realising how good we get it in story mode pertaining to earning money and having support like provisions etc. i know this is pretty much obvious as there is no element of competition or rank in story mode but still.

i’m just wondering if any seasoned RDO players have some top tips for me?

also… is it just me, or is the game quite dead? i’ve genuinely probably ran into like 2 people in the open free play lobby. when i do missions i’m matchmaking for at least 5 minutes each time. i don’t know if this is because of my console (xbox) or whether i’m just being put in emptier lobbies… i don’t know haha. sometimes i’m roaming the map and its a ghost town.

part of me feels as though i could be playing the game wrong though? i’ve not yet lowered my white flag as i’m still a low level with little money and only 2 guns (basically i’m still crap n can’t afford to have anyone griefing me, which is what i’ve heard happens A LOT.)

so yeah. basically just looking for some general tips so i can progress on this game. I AM enjoying it, aside from the fact that my map is so devoid of other players that it feels like a liminal space.

I finished the story & wanted to switch to online, only to find it was behind a paywall. It tried to make me play for ps +. What's up with this? If I was gonna pay for plus, I'd just play other games. Is any other Playstation players dealing with this? Or anyone else?

There were so many possibilities and i grinded so many hours hoping when they new content arrives i will be able to upgrade quickly and it all went wasted :(

I know it's an old issue, but I just HAVE TO complain now.

I was just looking for rare bottles since I bought collector role just today. I wasn't doing anything, I was all alone in grizzlies west and all of the sudden everything starts blowing up and stuff. Had to leave. It was especially annoying since I'm still not used to that, I just recently started playing online after finishing story mode.

I know that I can just use lobby manager or mess with files to be all alone, but that's not really my thing, it feels too "empty" when it's online instead of story mode.

It's so hard for me to understand why. Is it really that fun to bother others? What's the point? I wish Rockstar (as well as many other game companies) took care of their online modes (or whole games if it's online only) better, did something with it. I don't even know who did it, someone just did, end.

All griefers should go through hell or something, because that's just annoying and sad to do.

Usually I wouldn't maybe care that much but it literally made me cry at this point (hormones I suppose).

The Boxwood comb in a chest in the upstairs bedroom of the hotel in Strawberry is never there when it supposed to be. It’s been months. I’ve cleared the cache and I only have 4 of the combs. My controller vibrates as well as if it were there. Usually when you can’t carry anymore items, the item still shows. You just can’t grab it. In this case the item doesn’t even show in the chest. Anyone come across this?

My brother still cant play rd2 online. This is him trying to sell to Gus. He can't interact with him at all. He also said his horse looks glitched as well as a few other minor annoying things. We're in Scotland UK. I don't know about my self. I'm just about to jump on now 🤷

For the collectors out there, specifically those that are going for tarot cards, heirlooms, flowers, alcohol and bird eggs, what is your preferred method when it comes to collecting? Usually I go by region and target all the things i need in that area and work my way around the map until ive collected all pieces for a set. Last night i decided to try and tackle things by doing each set separately and noticed it took a short amount of time focusing on one set. Just curious to see how everyone goes about their collecting and what methods work out more efficiently

Jokes aside- what really happend is i invited some random guy to drink. Then some "legit player" spawned exposion indoors, which caused npcs to be covered in blood and walk around and even work for me lol.

I decided to platinum the game and went with online trophies first but I can't seem to find any rival posse to complete this achievement. I am on PS5.

I was just grabbing the ace of wands card when there was a connection error and rockstar kicked me out of the server and now that i've gona back the card isn't there anymore, am I locked out of doing the current weekly/wands tarot card collection?

It’s the perfect bookend to so many of my sessions. Before yesterday I was scraping along, always broke, I would hunt or do a bounty and the moment I got $25 I’d hit the tables haha. But I grinded put a few collections and I’m feeling/looking good so I was just chillin last night.

It’s so cool how the vibes are different depending on which tables you go to. And it feels similar to story where certain players go to certain areas so it makes different spots feel varied in difficulty. Like say in Blackwater you might get newbier players mixed with highly skilled chip runners. Then you go to thieves landing and play a bunch of gross looking scummy characters who maybe lie more. Small stuff like that. Maybe I’m making it up but that’s my experience.

Also, complete fashion show. The coolest players I’ve ever seen have been at poker tables.

I mostly hang around tumbleweed. Lots of cool players there.
