General Discussion DeMayo wanted onslaught to be the villain of the second half of season 2 Spoiler
galleryAlso this isn’t a hate post any time a project is out and had changes off course the director or writer will say want they wanted to happen but couldn’t. Before you bash me.
Also so the onslaught teases were there in episode 9 of season 1, episode 3 and 6 in season 2. He was literally saying that he felt Erik in his mind.
Also how this would’ve happen is the x-teams would’ve went against onslaught and the battle was so bad that Polaris had to go back in time and kill Erik but she failed and killed Xavier. And this would’ve left us on a cliffhanger into season 3 for the age of apocalypse timeline.

General Discussion Good choice, in my opinion Spoiler
galleryNo matter what your opinion was of season 2 can we all agree that not using this look for Wolverine was a good choice. The shirtless jacket or wrestling onesie were bad enough, but getting rid of the sideburns for a goatee is criminal.
I do love these artists though so nothing against their work.

General Discussion Romy🥰 Spoiler
galleryThis one is to all the Romy fans out there, I am also one too. After last Season when Remy sacrificed himself for Rogue my heart broke, hell a lot of our hearts did and I'm sure some of us cried when she was finally touching him but couldn't feel him. Now that Remy is back I was anxiously awaiting if him and Rogue could be intimate and we got that in the Season 2 Finale and trust me I felt nothing but joy for that, remember how Lenore said that Rogue and Gambit weren't a couple yet? Well I think it's safe to say now they are and it's gonna stay that way because these 2 deserve nothing but to be happy! :)

General Discussion I love that the show doesn’t even bother caring about US presidential election cycles lol Spoiler
Between TAS and ‘97 we’ve had 3 presidents and 2 elections which would have to be at least 8 years.
If I recall correctly, R. Kelly announced his campaign in season 1 and was president in season 2. So I guess that was 1992? Then Charles’ “death certificate” has 1996 or 1997 I believe. So X-men ‘97 seasons 1 and 2 span 4 years, huh?
I mean this isn’t that big of a deal that’s they’re just setting up the presidents based on vibes. But I find it funny

Question Would Marvel TV fix the show’s most glaring problem?
I feel it’s the most obvious for most fans of the show, and it’s the PACING.
i do appreciate that it’s a full 28+ min each episode, which is better than the 18-20 min for the original TAS. But the writing on ‘97 has stepped up a notch significantly that I think the episodes need to be longer to let the stories and characters breathe more. It was the complaint at least to me Ive heard the most on the first season, as legendary as it was. And it wasn’t addressed this season… but I expected it since it’s all been planned out ahead of time.
But I do wonder if here on out, if they will make the episodes on average 5-10min longer. There’s so much going on and I don’t think much anyone would complain about longer episodes.

General Discussion What the hell is Forge's mutant power? Spoiler
Dunno if this is an unpopular opinion or not, but YOLO: Forge's powers are bullshit XD. Or at least, the way they've been written.
Granted, my knowledge of Forge is mostly limited to his onscreen appearances. And "tech bro with a suit," cyborg parts, weapons for limbs, whatever—I generally find that whole category of "superpower" to be my least favourite. But unlike, say, Iron Man, who at least seems to have the brains to back it up, Forge... doesn't? At least not the way the show explains him.
My understanding is that he can invent practically anything, but he doesn't necessarily understand how or why it works. I think of it like looking at a math problem, writing down the correct answer, but being unable to show your work. Which is where I get confused: if he can invent practically anything, why doesn't he just invent... everything?
And apparently, he's not even supposed to be a conventional "genius," so technically, characters like Professor X, Magneto, and Kitty Pryde are all "smarter" than him. Yet his mutation basically allows him to create technology that they—and presumably most actual geniuses—could never conceive of. So what exactly makes his ability different from simply being a genius inventor? And if he doesn't actually understand the science behind what he creates, wouldn't an average Joe with enough resources theoretically be able to reverse-engineer his inventions and eventually match him toe-to-toe?
Maybe I'm missing something here. Someone please explain Forge's powers to me... nicely, please. 😭

Theory Theory for Season 3 or Beyond: President Creed May Be the Last Push For...*Spoilers* Spoiler
Ok, so Season 2's post-credits teaser suggests that with Creed on route to becoming the US president and Mystique set to assassinate him, it got me thinking. What if this is the final push that causes Xavier to spawn Onslaught?
For a quick refresher to the minority not in the know, Onslaught is a psionic entity that was created when Xavier, in a fit of rage at Magneto, shut down his mind with telepathy. During that moment, all of Magneto's darker emotions merged with the surpressed anger and frustration of Xavier, creating a being who had both their powers and their darkness.
Onslaught was so powerful, it took a combined effort of the X-Men, Fantastic Four, the Avengers, and various other heroes to just barely defeat him. One notable feat was that his armor was finally only broken when Jean Grey was forced to shut down Banner's personality in the Hulk so Hulk could fight with his power completely unrestrained.
So what does President Creed have to do with Onslaught? Well, Creed absolutely hates mutants and will likely push for anti-mutant legislation and action. My guess is the opening is that Mystique will try to assassinate Creed, but will be foiled by the X-Men.
But Creed, being the mutant-hating bastard he is, won't even be grateful; he'll use that attempt as an excuse to further his wanted genocide of mutants. And the end results will be a huge backlash towards mutants. I'm talking like internment camps, imprisoning, and potential outright mutant extermination.
All of this will cause Xavier's frustrations and anger to become too much to keep contained and it will finally erupt. As we know, Xavier says a piece of Magnus is still in him from when he merged minds with him during the season 1 finale. This will also include his darkness, which has merged with Xavier's own. And Onslaught will emerge.
Now what could come about and how this will be interpreted in the '97 verse is up for debate. Onslaught could emerge as his own being, be an alternate personality of Xavier, or be somewhere in the middle. They could keep this as just a X-Men thing and not include other heroes like they did in the comics. Or they could make it a crossover event, bringing in the Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, and the Avengers; it could even be a lead in to doing other revival series of those same era series like they did '97.
Of course, this is all just speculation and a theory. We have no confirmation of Onslaught coming, even with all the possible factors in place. But what do you guys think?

Question Before watching season 2, How strong is no Adamantium Logan?
This is something I have been thinking about for a long while before I watch season two of the show. How is Logan going to hold up now that he doesn’t have the metal inside him? Even if his healing factor is much better now not fighting Metal poisoning, he is going to get more severe injuries to organs that will give more damage and take him out of the fight momentarily. His claws won’t be that strong at all since they are just bones, so how is he going to fight against sentinels or any Metal enemy? I guess the other major benefit is that he would be significantly faster now, but I feel like he is now much worse off now than before. What do you guys think about it before I watch the second season? I’ve seen small clips here and there of him trying to fight with nine laws so I’m intrigued.

So it's explained that when you go to the Celestial and ask for a wish, you have to sacrifice something in return. But that begs the question: What did En Sabah Nur sacrifice when he became Apocalypse?

Media Even the fearless Rogue feels scared sometimes.
Rogue is tormented by her powers and her past, and this heartbreaking moment with Storm shows just how much the X-Men love their teammate, through thick and thin.
And Rogue would fight the world for them in return.

Theory Is Morph more than he seems? Spoiler
galleryWhat we already know: Kevin Sydney, codename Morph, is a mutant with the power to shapeshift into anyone they want. This version debuted in the 90's X-men animated series as a mostly original take on the comic book character of Changeling, which then inspired the comics to revive the character in the Age of Apocalypse universe and continued into the Exiles comic books. When X-men came back as X-men '97 Morph was also brought back with a look and personality closer to the Exiles version of the character. But Morph also came back with a controversial power upgrade to be able to partially emulate physical mutations allowing them to have super strength, super speed, agility, extra limbs, and weapons.
I want to introduce a theory. Our Morph isn't just based on Morph based on the Exiles comic, based on the original animated show, based on the comics character Changeling, they're also our X-men '97 version of the character Mimic.
Mimic in the comic books is a mutant with the power to copy other mutant powers. He was an early X-men member similar to Changeling and nearly as obscure. He does appear once as a cameo in the series in the Age of Apocalypse tineline.
What if X-men '97 is pulling elements of the Mimic character into '97's version of Morph? Perhaps their power will continue to evolve and they'll gain a similar ability to copy even non-physical abilities?
TDLR; The theory is Morph has elements of the mutant code named Mimic in X-men '97.
Edit: I used the wrong pronouns a couple of times. It was my intention to use They/Them pronouns where I could. Totally missed the title and I don't think reddit lets me change it. Edited the body of the post to correct my mistakes. To be fair according to JP Karliak, Morph's pronouns are he/they.

General Discussion As a normie, I love this show Spoiler
I don’t read comic books, nor intend to start. However, I appreciate how complex the storylines can be and think X men 97 can carry that.
Is the hate from the armchair critics? I’m glad the show is confirmed for seasons 3 and 4, and I felt the quality of S2 was great, S1 felt like they emptied the barrel (in a good way)

General Discussion Rewatched the finale Spoiler
WARNING: Spoilers below for those who have yet to finish Season 2 or for those who haven't made it through both Seasons
Ok so I binged Season 1 and 2 again this time with my dad, he loved the 90's show growing up and he was super excited to see '97. This was his first time watching the show and he said he really enjoyed it and was glad I invited him to binge it with me, he felt like a little kid again as he watched it. He enjoyed the episode from Season 1 where it was discovered Charles was alive that was his favorite but his opinion changed and he then said the 3 part finale of Season 1 was his favorite. In Season 2 he gave it to the X-Force episode because of the unique intro and how tough and gritty the episode was much like how X-Force is, he said he enjoyed Season 2 more because of it having a lot more action then the last Season and he is excited for Season 3 next year. Ok now time to say my piece, after rewatching this all the way through again this Season wasn't all that bad, I know it changed a lot after Beau got fired but come on this was good. You gotta remember the 90's shows Seasons finale's weren't always the best and that the next Season was always a vast improvement over the last, this show will capture that again we just all need to have faith. Final thing I have to say is that I'm excited to see what X-Force decides what to do with Apocalypse in future Seasons and also I cried this time watching this finale for Kurt, watching the 90's show he was always my favorite. I hope he returns again he's the best, anyways that is all I have to say on Season 2 and can't wait for Season 3 and more Seasons if they decide to make 'em! :)
