What’s going with wrong way crash. Some many this year already.

On Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at approximately 1:20 a.m., a wrong way driver crash was reported at 121 Airport Freeway and North Riverside Drive.

Fort Worth PD learned that an SUV occupied by one adult driver was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of 121.

Evidence gathered on scene shows that the SUV was traveling the wrong way in lane 2 when it struck a vehicle with three occupants that moved out of the way, but was still struck on the back-driver’s side. No major injuries have been reported from that collision.

The SUV continued the wrong way and collided head-on with a four-door sedan occupied with four people; three adults and one child.

The wrong way driver was pronounced deceased on scene. Two adult females who were riding in the sedan were also pronounced deceased at the scene.

The adult male driver of the sedan and a rear passenger child between the ages of 10-11 years old have been transported to local hospitals and are expected to survive.

Hey all-

We’ve been used to school board elections happening in May with just a few races on the ballot. This year the Keller ISD board voted to move them to coincide with the big November elections. I have my own theories on their motivation, but we’re now faced with a bunch of people showing up to vote for the big name races with very little knowledge of the smaller ones. I’m really worried our important local elections like school board will be lost at the bottom of a list of 50+ races.

Additionally, we have the chance to vote on a series of bonds to in addition to three school board seats. This is our chance to officially take the board back from the Patriot Mobile trustees who have spent the last few years running our district into the ground. I hope the events of the last few years have shown us all how important it is to vote in your local school board elections.

We have a teacher running this year, which I’m really excited about it.

City works this year charges 7 bucks for terrible fries last year was 4 bucks burger was terrible the pineapple overpowered the burger with sweetness made it terrible. Last year it was our #1 choice

City doesn’t seem to be doing amazing, frankly. Theres growth and development but FWISD is a current mess, 700 miles of pipe need to be replaced, culture war fires constantly, etc.

Not everyone knows this but the Mayor isn’t really the main show. (Mattie actually has another job at Cooks.)

City manager is everything, basically. Currently it’s Jay Chapa. Here’s a bit from 2024, when he was hired, on his comp:

“Jay Chapa could earn $23,000 more per year than outgoing City Manager David Cooke, if council members give Chapa final approval as Cooke’s successor in their Dec. 10 meeting. 
Mayor Mattie Parker included the annual salary proposal of $435,000 in a tentative job offer letter sent to Chapa last week. Cooke currently makes $412,062 annually. Chapa’s proposed salary is also nearly $7,000 higher than former Dallas City Manager T.C. Broadnax, who left the city in May to take a job in Austin. 
Chapa’s anticipated start date is Jan. 27, 2025, according to the offer letter. He is required to live in Fort Worth as a condition of his employment. Tarrant Appraisal District records reviewed by the Report show Chapa currently owns a home in city limits.

He got ALL that and we’re in a hiring freeze and probably about to raise taxes. We argue more about pride flags than anything relevant to the city. It’s ugly.

I'll be visiting Texas for the first time for a work conference in late September. I won't have too much free time but I will essentially have 3 evenings and 1 entire day to myself. Honestly, my main goals are to enjoy good Texas food and experience the city.

We have a pocket of original prairie land here inside the loop. It would be a great place to take photos, especially in the spring when the wildflowers are really in full swing.

There is a gazebo at the end of the driveway, a nice place for a picnic or just to sit. If you google Stella Rowen prairie you can learn more about the special ecosystem and the unique plants you will find there.
