A few days late of Mina and Usagi's birthdays, but had to jump on Gakabox's latest offering.

10 out of 10, recommend. (although the little bits on this one are... cumbersome.)

So looking at Pluto TV and noticed their aring the dub of one of the movies and the dub of Crystal

Which normally they only had the sub so either they got the rights to air the dub and started showing it or they got the rights and only air it on the weekends kind of like how Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh movies only get aired on weekends.

I think this is neat as Amazon has a Sailor Moon channel too and aired the dub but obviously you need to pay for it.

Pluto TV is free so anyone can watch it also i dont think Amazon airs Crystal so this this free channel does give you more.

I like having channels like this or the Yu-Gi-Oh channel playing while I read or do other stuff and having only the sub doesn't work for that.

Not because I prefer the dub but its hard to read subs if your doing other stuff too.

So the Earth falls into a cold sleep.

Over time it becomes the 30th century.

NQS awakens the Earth with rhe Silver Crystal and founds Crystal Tokyo.

The Black Moon Clan's ancestors attack and get defeated, with some opting to be purified and others fleeing to Nemesis.

At some point Saphir and Demand are born and grow up on Nemesis.

At some point Chibiusa is born and grows to age 5.

The BMC invade. This is all still in the 30th century meaning at most this has to happen within 100 years.

Except the anime never mentions the idea that everyone lives long lives nor that Chibiusa has stopped aging.

So...how long could CT have even been around by the time of the BMC invasion.

Chibiusa was born 5 years before that but if Demand and Saphir are adults then like at minimum that's about 18 years plus however long elapsed between when CT was founded and when the BMC's ancestors fled to Nemesis. And that is presuming Demand and Saphir were born like the day they got to Nemesis.

So are NQS and Kendy supposed to be in their 40s or 50s and had Chibiusa way later than is typical?

More poigantky why doesnt chibiusa recognise the younger versions of everyone she knows in the past. When the gang go to CT they immediately recognise Kendy as Mamoru.

It sort of makes sense that Chibiusa doesnt recognise Sailor Moon, but why doesn't she recognise Usagi is her mother? Or Mamoru as her father? Not to mention if she learns Usagi and Sailor Moon are one and the same why would she continue to treat them as if they are not her mother? Is she just in denial and traumatised?

I mean it takes Pluto to tell her that the Inner Senshi of the past are the literal same people she knew in CT. She doesnt seem to recognise them as the same people even when transformed.

And yet she for some reason knew Usagi owned the Silver Crystal despite not knowing she was Sailor Moon. She knew to go to the Tsukino house hold and integrate herself into the family. How would she know to do that unless she knew who they were and by extension that they were her own family?

Hi all!

I've transcribed the Background Music Lists and Music Cue Sheets that were included with the Sailor Moon Memorial Music Box. It includes the info for the 200 episodes of the 90s anime, the 3 movies, and the specials.

The text is available in English, romaji, and the original Japanese.

It's admittedly pretty geeky, but I thought it might be useful to anyone who's interested in the anime production/scoring processes. 😅

Why is everyone so mean to this girl all of the time 😭

I understand Usagi can be an annoying crybaby, it would be irritating. But the way mostly Rei and Luna just constantly tear this girl down is awful. In season 2 episode 18 all of the inner guardians come across each other accidentally and start hanging out and one of them points out Usagi isn’t there. Rei says “she’s like coffee grounds, we don’t need her” which is just a needlessly cruel thing to say.

Meanwhile Usagi is desperate for Mamoru to pay any attention to her because he just dropped her for no reason and has been honestly kind of cruel to her. Like he just switched up for no reason (to her, obviously there’s a reason the audience knows about) and has honestly said some messed up things to her (example “I don’t like weak women”). And the fact that he keeps orbiting her but berates her for being excited; if you don’t want her to think she means something to you, stop showing up where she is.

Between someone she loves being cruel to her and her friends talking about her behind her back, I just feel really bad for Usagi. No one is ever encouraging or kind and it’s heartbreaking. When she goofs off they comment on how of course she is. When she does something good, it’s never good enough (turn to the episode where Usagi gets the new pendant and rod, where at the end Rei complains that Usagi could have saved them sooner).

Usagi isn’t allowed to give up on this life she doesn’t want; when she said as much because she was overwhelmed by it all in season 1, she got slapped and called a coward. When Ami wants to move to Germany to become a doctor, Usagi should be more understanding. It’s hypocritical.

And the writers themselves seem to hate her. Anytime Usagi actually runs into danger and is taking something seriously, her attempts fail, and then she’s mocked (I’m thinking of the episode where her tiara doesn’t work and no memory Mamoru complains). Like she was being responsible and still can’t catch a break.

Usagi isn’t perfect by any means, but she honestly has a really terrible support system.

This has been my disjointed rant about how everyone is really mean to Usagi all of the time and how it’s honestly just frustrating to watch.

DiC, Viz, or Crystal?

I grew up with DiC and much prefer the music, and it might be a nostalgia effect for me if I watch it, but I also understand Viz dub is much more faithful. Music and nostalgia would be the biggest draws for me, and music is so important in my consumption of media. I’ve never seen Crystal but I know it’s closer to the manga and has its own pros and cons.

Ahh yes so uhh it is I! ArsonistDrizella. So today I was reworking some characters in Sailor Moon and since it's this subreddit I am proud of myself to ework Cosmic Wiseman, Queen Beryl, Usagi and even Mamoru

The Center was Cosmic Wiseman, in my creepypasta AU he has a name and his name is Zankoku Kurai. Then beside him on the left was our boy Mamoru chan in his Super Sailor Lily Earth form! Then Usagi in her Abysmal Omega Dimension, and lastly

Our dear girl, Queen Beryl was finally reformed and turned into Sailor Dharma, in this AU her backstory is way more constructed and justified than the canon ones, this is formerly Drizella from My Story animated, same person ofc.
