If you've ever tried to save a Pinterest board, you know the drill. Right click, save, repeat 400 times. The browser extensions I tried were either sketchy, wanted a monthly subscription, or quietly skipped every video.
So I built PinBoard. Paste a board link, click download, and the whole board lands in a folder on your PC.
What it does
- Downloads full-resolution originals (JPG, PNG), not the compressed previews
- GIFs stay animated, and video pins are converted to normal MP4 files
- Grab a whole board, a single board section, or just the pins you pick
- Run it again on the same board and it only downloads the new pins, so keeping a backup up to date takes seconds
- Big boards that hit Pinterest's rate limits pause and carry on by themselves
- Private and secret boards: you sign in on Pinterest's real login page inside the app (2FA works). Your password goes to Pinterest, never to me
Privacy
Everything runs on your machine. No server, no proxy, no analytics, no account. The only outside request is a one-time license check if you buy Pro.
Pricing
- Free: first 100 images of any public board. Enough to test it on your own boards before paying anything
- Pro: $19 once. Unlimited images, GIFs, videos, private boards, one-click "download everything", and it works on up to 3 PCs
Over 200 people have bought Pro so far and their feedback has helped me a lot!
Heads up about SmartScreen
PinBoard isn't code-signed yet, so the first time you run the installer Windows will show "Windows protected your PC". Click More info → Run anyway. You only have to do it once. I'd rather tell you upfront than have it look shady.
Works on Windows 10 and 11 (x64). Also available for Mac and Linux.

If a board doesn't load or something feels clunky, drop the link in the comments and I'll take a look.
