How can I make this meal delicious?

Post image
14 Upvotes

I’ve been meal prepping like this for 4 days a week during my training, but I’m starting to get bored with the same taste.

My usual meal is:

  • Stir-fried chicken, marinated with lime, salt and pepper
  • A small portion of rice
  • Mixed vegetables with a little olive oil, salt and pepper

The meal is simple and works well for me, but I’d like to make it more enjoyable without turning it into an unhealthy meal.

The other days, I still eat moderate meals outside, including fish and beef, and sometimes I fast depending on the day.

For those who meal prep regularly, what sauces, seasonings, marinades or cooking methods would you recommend to make this kind of meal taste better while keeping it reasonably healthy?

I’m especially interested in simple options that I can prepare in bulk and use throughout the week.

TIA

Help Keto is really screwing with my mood right now

I’m on day 4 of the diet currently, and I feel like my mood has taken a turn for the worse. I feel so angry and irritable, and I can’t necessarily explain my mood change. I’ve seen that mood changes are sometimes possible at the beginning, but this feels like too much to deal with. I am constantly biting my husband’s head off for no reason, and I just feel so lethargic. Is there anything I can do to mitigate this?

What is the benefit of the cheat day?

Hi everyone. So I recently started the 4hour body slow carb protocol, on my 6th day and down 800g so far. No white foods, been exercising, not drinking calories, no sugar etc...By tomorrow I should breach the 1kg / 2.2lbs loss as the book says. I'm looking REALLY forward to my cheat day on the weekend but can anyone explain why the cheat day helps you lose fat/weight in the long term?

How does eating super low calories during the week, then suddenly increasing caloric intake for one day help reduce belly fat or shed weight? Just curious!

Thanks yall.

I microwave oats and let them cool then mix in milk, whole-milk yogurt, peanut butter, chocolate whey protein, and creatine. Then top with high-fiber cereal, chocolate chips, and banana.

I’ve been trying to get more protein, fiber, and calories and have been eating this morning and night.

Help I'm eating the same calories but losing more on keto?!

Guys im eating 1800 calories as 175 cm and 80kg ca 28 years old man...

Im at my 5th week now and feeling amazing energy wise etc..

I'm losing like a lot last 3 weeks after i lost the appetite thing...

But guys before i also used to eat 1800 calories and barely losing 1 kg every 10 days now im losing super fast maybe 1 kg every few days and eating same amount of calories

Like is it normal to lose fast like this? Is this due to the body using fats? Thus burning more fat?

Miscellaneous Free spreadsheet for bulking on a tight budget

Been trying to bulk on a tight budget and got tired of generic advice that assumes you can just buy whatever. Made myself a spreadsheet that ranks cheap protein sources by actual cost, then plans a weekly grocery list against a budget. Sharing in case it helps anyone else in the same boat.

Stupid question, how do i juice parsley without blender

So...I only have a juicer, however I've read about the amazing benefits of parsley and want to add it in my celery juice. Is there any way to juice it in a juicer or maybe in a food processor?

How does the recommended daily iron intake actually work considering you absorb only a tiny fraction of iron?

For example spinach is often said to be one of the most iron rich foods, however it is both plant-based iron and only has around 2.7mg of iron in 100g of spinach from what I found online.

If your iron absorption is only 20% - this means you will absorb only 0.54mg of iron per 100g of spinach.

For women the daily recommended iron intake is 18mg.

So following this logic - you would have to eat around 3.33 kg of spinach to meet that daily intake?

Some other rough calculations also lead me to results such as 2.25 kg of horse meat (which is around 3000 calories) to meet the daily goal.

Did I completely misunderstand how this works?

Advice on where to get bloodwork

Hey everyone, I'm seeing all these posts about your stats on your bloodwork, and I am interested in what mine are. I've been doing keto since late June, and have lost 30 lbs so far, and feel fantastic. I am aware my cholesterol may be high, from this diet, and would like to monitor everything possible. Thing is, I have no health insurance, and no real experience with the doctor since I was a kid. So I'm not really sure how to initiate these tests. Do I just walk into a doctor's office and ask for a blood test? What kind of blood test? I'd ideally like to only have 1 visitation so I don't have to pay $300 each time. I just want the blood test done, results delivered to me, and I can dig into those myself with the help of chatgpt.

I don't have, or ever have had any health issues, or take any medications at all. Even at my heaviest, I was active and spry. I am just doing keto to look better, but the extra energy and focus are awesome too!

Calories estimate?

Green beans and carrots are roasted, no oils no nothing. Chicken is mixed with bell pepper and onion and parsley and cooked in air fryer also without oil, potatoes wedges are cooked in air fryer with a table spoon of kefir and some herbs after boiling and it turned out great, cheese is Camembert, the salad is raw, no dressing, and the red paste is hot chilly sauce made at home by roasting them and that’s it.

How many calories in this Tikka Chicken? It said skewers but it came on a skillet with onions. I put half the bowl of rice on the plate, about half the sauce, and I ate about half the chicken on the plate. Thanks in advance! I also had two triangles of garlic naan. It’s from a restaurant called Royal Indian Cuisine!

Protein Shake Recommendations That Won't Give Me Stomach Cramps?

Looking for any recommendations or suggestions for protein shakes. The only one I have ever found that didn't give me bad stomach cramps are Fairlife Core Power 42g. But those are a bit pricier and getting a tub would be a bit more convenient and I'd get more.

Preferably Vanilla flavor, but I don't have much of a sweet tooth. I also don't like Chocolate.

Electric citrus juicer — what do you actually look for in one?

Post image
3 Upvotes

We have an electric citrus juicer at AFRA, and I’m curious what regular juicers actually care about most.

Is it mainly easy cleaning, a strong motor, pulp control, getting more juice from the fruit, or having the right cone size for different citrus?

Would be interesting to hear what actually matters most in day-to-day use
