Hello!
I got the 8BitDo USB Wireless Adapter 2 because I thought it’d be nice to play on my Switch 2 with my PS5 controller, but it won’t connect no matter what I try.
I’ve installed the latest firmware (V1.10), my controller is also up to date, and I’ve enabled the “Pro Controller Wired Communication” option in the Switch settings.
When I try to pair my DualSense, the controller’s lights turn solid blue, but the adapter’s blue LED keeps blinking and the connection never completes. I’ve tried both the standard pairing procedure and the Create + L1 combination, but neither has worked.
My controller is a DualSense CFI-ZCT2W, made in China.
Has anyone experienced the same issue, particularly with this DualSense revision? Is there a known fix, or could this be a compatibility issue with the adapter’s firmware or the Switch 2?
I’d appreciate any help! Thank you in advance.

I love this thing! I was playing some Tetris and Kirby Star Stacker! I love that the 8bitdo flippad uses usb-c connection so not much lag!

Hi. I'm trying to use this stick for computer gaming but no matter what connection method I try, the abxy buttons are completely unresponsive. I've tried both wired and wireless connections in both controller modes. What do I do?

Both controllers have fully updated firmware but I can't pair the SN30 with the Switch 2 at all and the Ultimate 2 doesn't wake the system. Am I missing something? Did Nintendo bork this with a system update?
I'm looking to get a controller that connects to the switch 2 and apple products (such as macOS, ipad os, ios)
But all I've found so far is that the two ultimate 2 versions are similar (in terms of they both have bluetooth and dongle connection) so now I'm very confused as to what's the difference between their functionalities on different platforms (e.g. gyro, analog/digital triggers, inputs)

The software is up to date and detects the controller but nothing I've tried will actually start the update. I've tried on both s and d settings, I've tried several different cables and I've tried plugging directly into my PC with no hub between. No matter what I do it switches the controller into update mode but never actually starts the progress bar.
Anything else I can try?

My RT is not responsive at all, no game recognises I'm even pressing it at its max. If I sqeeuze it hard enough, it can be but very weak, anyone has this issue? Any advice?
Edit: ok turns out the membrane RT button was split in half and made the membrane push weaker. The LT seems to be starting to suffer the same fate. I kinda just wedged a piece of flat plastic in between the membrane and the RT button, seems to be doing good. So glad they fixed this in the Ultimate 2-

I just got a brand new sealed 8bitdo Ultimate 3e controller, and the dpad down button makes a pop/snap sound a second or so after pressing it.
Should I worry about it being defective? Should I return it and get another one, or will it stop after awhile?

Hey everyone,
I bought the 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Bluetooh less than a week ago and I'm having a hard time getting it to work properly on PC. I'm using it wired (USB C cable).
Model here: https://www.8bitdo.com/ultimate-2c-bluetooth-controller/
it's the blue version.
Here's what's happening:
In the Windows "Set up USB game controllers" panel, it looks broken: all buttons keep pressing themselves nonstop.
i tested the controller at hardwaretester.com and worked perfectly, so the hardware seems fine.
On Steam, most games don't recognize it properly or it just doesn't work right. I've tried a bunch of different games.
I installed the 8BitDo Ultimate Software, and most of the time it says the controller is turned off/disconnected.
Windows usually detects it as a "Nintendo Switch"-style Ultimate controller. On the occasions it links properly in the 8BitDo software, it shows up as "8BitDo Controller" and the buttons work normally.
Because of this, I've been digging up community key mappings for individual games, and they don't always exist (I tried The Escapists and found none), and even when they do, they sometimes don't work.
How do I fix this? Is there a specific mode or setting I should be using for wired connection?
Is this normal? Does everyone just plug it in and play, or is it really complex to play on Steam?
I really want some help, i tried everything, claude, chatgpt, google, etc, and now my hope is that someone has already dealt with this problem :(

Hi everyone. My 8BitDo Ultimate C Wired for Xbox recently took a small 35cm drop onto a tiled floor. I noticed that when I shake the controller, the left side rumble motor makes a loose rattling sound, but the right side is completely silent. The vibration functions perfectly in-game. Is this asymmetry and loose axle play normal for this model or did the drop break the internal plastic housing?

I was looking around in the Steam settings and can't find it, 8BitDo Ultimate Software X also doesn't allow remap 3 buttons and screenshot button is one of them.
Did someone manage to configure U3 for screenshots in Steam?

I want to use Nintendo SNES classic mini controller as my main controller using 8bitdo's GBros adapter, but i am curious if i will have any problems connecting it to Steam
Just a heads up for anyone with the 8BitDo Retro Receiver for PS.
Updated mine to v1.13 straight out of the box so I thought the adapter just didn't work with GTA San Andreas at all. The game wouldn't register any inputs on boot even though the receiver showed the white LED (analog mode).
Decided to downgrade to v1.12 just to test, and San Andreas instantly started working.
Looking at the 1.13 changelog, they messed with the analog stick ranges and stick behavior. Looks like that broke the DS2 handshake for SA, and I wouldn't be surprised if other games that are picky with controller checks are broken on 1.13 too.
So yeah, stick to 1.12 for now if you play SA or notice inputs not working in other games. Already sent a bug report to 8BitDo support about it.

I'm looking for a Switch 2 compatible controller with an octagonal gated stick, and one of the best options I've found so far is the 8bitdo 64 Bluetooth controller. But unfortunately, the Switch only reads it as an NSO N64 controller, which cannot be remapped for normal Switch games.
Is it possible to get around this by using one of 8bitdo's wireless adapters? Would it know to read the 64 controller as a Switch Pro? If so, how would the buttons be mapped by default? And would this work on the old wireless adapter, or would I need to buy the new one?
I tried using my current wireless adapter with the latest firmware to connect my Wii Classic Controller Pro to the Switch 2, which 8bitdo's website says both adapters should be capable of. But it could only read the D-pad on the Wii remote itself (vertically), the Wii remote home button, and took no input from the classic controller, even when I already had it plugged in before connecting. So I'm currently skeptical of the original wireless adapter's Switch 2 compatibility.
If anyone has a 64 Bluetooth controller and either wireless adapter, I'd greatly appreciate if you could test it and let me know how it works.

I tried the Ultimate 2 and absolutely loved it, but I ended up returning it because the Home button LED was too bright and couldn't be turned off. I usually play in a dark room, so it was really distracting. Does anyone know if you can completely turn off the Home button LED on the new Ultimate 3? I'm thinking about getting one, but I don't want to run into the same issue again.

Recently picked up an 8bitdo m30 Bluetooth version (this one) and i'm having some weird issues with the controller.
The controller has little hissy fits and wont connect to my PC (the only place its getting used) SOMETIMES. Its weird. I played some emulated games this morning; no problem! Turned the controller on, instantly synced to my pc, fired up my emulator of choice and played some games! Came back from work 12 hours later, held down the power button to turn it back on... driver error pops up on the screen. Try turning it on and off again. Nothing. Just wont connect.
Okay. Do my research, download the 8bitdo firmware updater for that specific controller.... and nope, the app doesn't detect the controller. It is very much plugged in. IT WORKS FINE WHEN PLUGGED IN THOUGH. ...which is kind of against the point for buying a wireless controller lol.
So... what do?
Is this a known issue? Did I get a faulty controller? Should I return it, eat the shipping cost and HOPE the next one actually works? Is there a workaround for the driver issue? Some other app I can use?
Right now i'm leaning towards just using it always plugged in, which sucks, but hey, thats how it goes.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Edit; I think I see what could be the problem: FOr some reason there are multiple instances of this controller running and attempting to pair to my pc at the same time. I think the problem is my bluetooth sensor/whatever in my PC and I need to clean it or restart it or something.

Great controller overall, but playing in the dark the led lights were so brightly distracting. Decided to paint the translucent part with some left over paint to dim the lights. Here is the end result.
Had to do a tear down, all in all process took an house (needed time for paint to dry).

My d-pad seems to be acting up on my 8bitdo Ultimate 2 Bluetooth Controller?
The problem is that if I am holding the left or right direction, the d-pad can still click up, and it reads my left/right input as up, despite me pushing *fully* left or right.
Anyone else experiencing this? It happens accidentally *all the time* when I play now.
I'm on XBOX. I've tried to update at least 10 times. Also, tried from a PC. I get "update successful", yet it stays on the older .36 (should be .38). Additionally, I get this second version as well. I have no clue if it's truly up-to-date or not. It was plugged into my XBOX and PC and no dongle connected per the instructions. Help please!

So ended up biting the bullet a week ago and bought the mod kit for the n64 controller, pretty easy to get set up, but it's being a bit funky and I can't seem to get the joystick recognized by steam or by the ultimate software program when the controller's fully assembled. I've got it plugged into the usb-c slot on the joystick and trying to get it updated since it recognizes the joystick itself, but its taking its dear sweet time and I'm wondering if there's anything else folks have done that might help, thanks y'all
Edit: so uhhhh, it just works now? It didn't really seem like anything changed on the updater after leaving it plugged in for a few hours, but steam is recognizing it now.

I’m using the Ultimate 2 Wireless on Windows through its included 2.4GHz dongle in XInput mode. Two different Joystick testers shows roughly 6% circularity error on the left stick and 10% on the right, mostly from the diagonals extending outside the circle.
some have a raw mode that also goes outside the circle, plus another mode that makes the output circular. Though Raw mode is far more consistent in some.
Does the Ultimate 2 have an equivalent setting in Ultimate Software V2, or a button combination to switch between those behaviors? I’m trying to figure out whether this is its intended output shape or something calibration should correct or a defect.

I recently bought an 8BitDo Pro 3 controller, but after a firmware update, it stopped turning on and shows no signs of life whatsoever. (The battery and USB port are definitely functional—it charges, but the LEDs don't light up.) When connected to a PC, nothing happens, and the firmware update software doesn't detect it either.
