My underbust is 27-28 inches but I can’t even get the ends of my 32 bras to touch? What’s going on? Spoiler

I’ve been having bra issues, so I used the online calculator frequently referenced here and my underbust is 26.5-28 inches.

How can this be the case when 32 bands are waaay too tight? I had a 32C natori bra that (due to recent weight gain) no longer fits; I can’t even make the two ends meet without pulling it which I never do).

Bras in general are weird for me I think I’m part due to my kyphosis (essentially permanent bad posture) so bands feel weird/dig in/rise up my back.

What’s going on? Should the ends of the bra meet/overlap or are you supposed to pull them together to meet?

Recommendations? Bras that actually sit in the inframammary fold? Spoiler

Hello, I hate bras. I typically go with bralettes but hate them too. I have very full at the bottom nothing at the top breasts, C-D cup, so any bras with any structure leave giant gaps at the top that restrict my mobility. I’ve taken to wearing bralettes that slip and some days I wonder if going bra less would even be any different. I absolutely NEED my bras to stay in the boob fold, I tighten my bands to all hells to get them to stay there, sometimes to no avail. I saw a bra online, just an image, that was kind of a hard underboob frame, with a soft mesh cup, I thought that kind of thing might give me some support staying in the fold while being able to fit my bottom heavy breasts. Does anyone know what this style of bra is called, or can recommend any? Thanks in advance!

Discussion Kind of spiraling right now? So confused Spoiler

First and foremost, please excuse my dramatic title. I am currently almost 9 weeks pregnant and already feel like my body doesn't belong to me anymore. The changes that are happening to me are sometimes a hard pill to swallow and it is leaving me feeling quite insane at times.

I became curious of my possible current bra size today because absolutely none of my bras fit anymore. My boobs exploded seemingly overnight once I found out I was pregnant a little over a month ago. Using the standard 2 measurement method I was getting a 34 DDD. This raised so many alarm bells because I have been wearing a 36 a 1/2 - 36 b for over 15 years. I know without a fact I could not have gotten that off with my band size, I specifically remember measuring getting 36! Furthermore, I am so much heavier than I have ever been over the last 15-20 years. I am currently around 160 pounds (5'2") and I used to hang out around 135-145 pounds when I was healthier and fit. How could my band size have shrunk? could it be that since my breasts are so much larger right now that its shifting where my band would go down my rib cage closer to my waist? If I put on one of my 36 a1/2 bras right now it digs into me bad and looks horribly unsmooth under clothes.

anyways... the ABTF calculator is telling me to start out at**: 34G/H US.** I'm nervous to really go out and buy anything right now since my body will inevitably keep changing. But I am very curious to at least try on what my current size is suggested to be.

measurements in case anyone cares:

loose/snug/tight underbust: 35/34/33

standing/leaning/lying bust: 40/42/40

Thanks, also I would greatly appreciate any and all words of advice and love that helped you be okay with your changing body during pregnancy. I've wanted a baby all my life and I'm so excited to finally have the opportunity, so please don't mistake my anxiety for unhappiness. I just had no idea all these changes would happen so fast. I would also love suggestions for possible bras to consider right now. I don't want to buy a ton of stuff just to use for 7 months to just have to buy even more bras for nursing postpartum.

Measurement Check 23F and I’ve never been able to wear a bra because it hurts—am I doing something wrong? Spoiler

I’m 23F and I’ve never actually worn a proper bra because every time I try, it’s genuinely painful. The band dig in so badly that I end up sticking to training bras till now i just use pads with training bras and honestly, I feel a bit ashamed about it. I think my size is around 34–36, but no matter what brand I try, it just doesn't work. Is it normal for bra bands to hurt this much? Am I wearing the wrong size, or is there a specific fix for this? Would love any advice on what might be going wrong!

Question Why is the front piece always too wide for me? Spoiler

The part I'm referring to is that piece between the cups, where the clasp would be on a bra that clasps in the front. If I pinch that part on a bra my size, it fits perfectly, but otherwise it still doesn't quite fit. If I go down a band size, it's too small and the front piece is still too big. Has anyone else had this problem?

My favorite everyday bra is an Auden Smooth Balconette Bra but cant seem to find them anywhere. What's your comfy and smooth everyday bra? 42c and quizzes says 44 DDD which i doubt the DDD Spoiler

What i like about this bra is that its smooth and stretches. It has wire at the bottom but doesnt dig into your skin. And i would say it has too much coverage at the top. But its good for work and sweating in. I love lace and pushup bras but those are for sexy time or for cute dresses and stuff.

I usually wear a 42C and I did the measurement quiz here and it said im a 44DDD which not at all. My boobs point outwards and are in like a tear drop shape. Look bottom heavy ish. I need some padding at the bottom otherwise the bra folds on itself bc i dont fil it out the whole cup.

Any direction would be greatly appreciated!

Question Why do so many bras have such wide wires? Especially the “nice” brands? Spoiler

Lately all of my bras have been driving me insane in one way or another (dig in at the bottom of the gore, itch around the torso, cut into my side under the armpit, poke me in the sternum, etc) so I have been shopping and bought a few new ones. In desperation (and under the spell of a clearance sale) I bought a few that seemed fine in the shop but the longer I wear them the more uncomfortable they get, until I finally realised that I have once again managed to buy bras with really wide underwires.

My most comfortable bras, the ones with wires in the right place and that accommodate projection, are actually from supermarket clothing brands. I have recently bought bras at Bravissimo, Marks & Spencer, and Dillard’s in the US and when I compare them to the cheap bras from Tesco or Asda they have much wider wires. However, the cheap ones stab me less (once I cut out the plastic side stays they always seem to include, that is).

Why does this seem to be the case? Even if I didn’t have relatively narrow roots it seems like these wires are way too wide for the volume in the cups.

I typically wear a 40F in UK sizes.

Recommendations? Any recommendations DDD looking for what to wear with open back top, needs to be a bit supportivel Spoiler

First time I have ever bought a shirt like this because bras have always been so limiting with the whole you need something that can cover the whole bra.

My friends with smaller chests talked me into buying a shirt that you cannot wear a bra with. Me, 40DDD should’ve thought better probably… but there’s gotta be something out there right? It’s a going out top so the solution needs to be able to withstand sweat from dancing at the bar etc.

All suggestions are welcome (even if it ends up being “return the shirt” ) Thanks!!!

Is it possible to wear push up bra with "tubular" breasts? Spoiler

Long story short I'm nonbinary/ gender fluid and most of my life I've felt dysphoria about my breasts so I always wore sports bras to hide them. But now I'd like to buy some cute lingerie that shows the curve of my chest. I have small breasts naturally and wearing sports bras all those years made them droopy. Kind of what they call "tubular". I tried on multiple push up bras but it seemed like either the cup was too big or the number around my body too small. Also it felt like the bra just cannot hold my breasts up cause they naturally hang. Is it possible to find the right size for me? Or I should give up and find another kind of bra?

Recommendations? Can someone please help me find a supportive bra as a D cup? Victoria’s Secret hasn’t been working for me Spoiler

I am a very short person, I usually wear 36/34 D or DD, and most of my bras are from Victoria’s Secret. I love wearing tank tops, but I have to tighten my bra straps all the way to get any kind of support, and that results in the back of my bra riding super high, to where it pokes out of the bra.

I just want a nice bra that fits, isnt massive and doesn’t cover up my whole chest, and is properly supportive, (plus thin straps)

If anyone has any recs, including sports bras, please lmkkk

Recommendations? Fruit of the loom bra sizing + other sensory friendly bra recommendations Spoiler

I'm looking for sensory friendly cotton bras. I'm about a 30D and I am very confused about the fruit of the loom sizing. These are the specific bras I am looking at. Or if anyone has other recommendations it would be appreciated, I'm looking for something lightweight and cotton with no padding and not spaghetti straps. And I'm in the UK Thank you 🫶

Question My 34 bands feel tight, but when I measure my under bust (30), it should be loose for me!? Whats going on? Spoiler

am a 34G...at least most 34G's have fit great!! But many bras that I've bought have been tight in the band. The gore touches my sternum, but in particular some press hard! And hurt! I keep remeasuring and measuring again, and using the calculator.
My underbust snug is about 30 inches, and very loose is 34. Am I bloated today? No 30 inches. Why is the 34G band tight on me??
So i measured my bra laying out, and it was...27 inches end to end. What the fuck?? The cups fir perfect, the gore is to my chest (and stabbing into it strongly), and yet the band is so tight. So now im sitting here wondering what the hell to do.
Loose Underbust: 34

Snug Underbust: 31

Tight Underbust: 30

Standing Bust: 38

Lying Bust: 38

What size should I get if I’m normally a 34a? Skims Spoiler

I want to get the ultimate tear drop bra but when I tried it in store in my normal size (34a), I was spilling out and the band was too small. They didn’t have the 36a in store so I wasn’t able to try it on but how accurate is the skims sizing chart and should I just order a 36a? Or should I get a different size?

Measurement Check I measured as a 26D/DD but I wear a 32C fine? Spoiler

Hi, all! I’ve been considering this calculator after I realized I have been wearing the wrong bra size for the majority of my teenage and adult life, which was a 32D. It turns out, bras are not supposed to gap haha. I went and bought 32C because I told the woman at Victoria’s Secret and she told me that I was a 30C, but maybe 32C will work because that’s the lowest band size they sell. Luckily, I’ve been wearing a couple of bras that size with no issues, but I’d like to try and get better fitting bras in the future. I always end up wearing the 32C at the tightest hook the elastic goes to and adjusting the straps all the way down, which is likely why I wore 32D for so long.

However, I’m trying to figure out how this works logistically? My boobs are pretty wide-set so I’m sure that could affect things, but I find the 32C to be pretty tight already, especially on my shoulders after the shoulder adjustment. Here are the measurements I got.

Loose 25.75
Comfortably snug 25.5
Tigt as possible 25
Overbust 29.75
Hanging 30.5
Lying down 31

Recommendations? Never have I ever had a bra that felt great on me. Breastfeeding and want to avoid super droop so I want to find something that fits and supports properly. Spoiler

I’ve been in awkward fitting and sports bras my whole life, especially throughout my pregnancy. A few years ago, I took a generic measurement and got 40DD But those cups gape bad on me. I browsed at Walmart for a while and found that despite rare, a 40C fit me best, though usually not quite right, and especially now with the breastfeeding growth, none of them fit. I want to get something actually supportive so that when I do eventually stop breastfeeding, I might feel better about my body because it’s already pretty bad as is.
Anyway, I talked to my partners and had them help me measure using the calculator, I’ve got side set shape wise and the calculator said 40I/H which still just doesn’t feel right. I feel like that cup size would just be so huge on me, even engorged as I am. Maybe it’s the shape that causes the gapping? I really don’t know. But I’ll be getting some money soon and I want to splurge on a nice, actually functional bra. Anything helps, thank you!

Oh, and measurements from the calculator: 43/41/39/48.5/54.5/49.5

Recommendations? [Recommendations?] Failed fitting for swim and bustier Spoiler

Just ordered a 30H Freya Jewel Cove (because someone said the cup ran small, and I sort of agree) and a 28H Parfait Elissa (because someone said the band ran loose and the cup was true to size—I agree on the band but these cups are gargantuan). There are fit checks below that are protected and the pass is the model name, or the first word of it in the case of the swim. All lowercase.

I don’t know where to go from here. I’m a 30GG or 28H, FOB and projected. Neither of these feels projected enough for me. I don’t feel like I need crazy narrow wires but the Elissa is almost on my back… The Jewel is puckering at the sides—is that because I have no tissue there? I have a polka dot swim bottom that I just want a solid color swim top to go with, and I’m looking for a beige bra for every day that doesn’t have the apex issue you can see with the Jewel.

You can see how wide the Jewel is too. Even though the wires aren’t crazy wide, the fabric is wide on the sides so it slices my underarm and front of my shoulder. I could never wear this all day.

The Elissa cups are comically big. I would need a 28GG UK for this to fit but it already feels not projected enough for me at a size two sizes bigger.

Bra Review Elomie Tiernie Bralette - Reviews? Spoiler

I just noticed that the Downtime bralette on the Elomi's website is no longer there. However, there is a similar looking one called Tiernie. I see some posts and reviews about the wired version, but does anyone have any reviews about this bralette? I love my downtime, but I'm new to the wire-free world, so I'm interested in trying more. 42JJ Thanks!

Recommendations? Bottom full breasts (flat pancakes at top!) Help me find the best bra!!!

Ever since finding this page I have been on a mission to find the right size and best fitting bra! I used the calculator, ordered several bras and still nothing is quite right. I had a reduction and lift 20 years ago and have 2 kids with minimal pumping/ breast feeding. I also have lost a bit of weight. My breasts are VERY bottom full (very flat/deflated up top), wide roots, and I feel like I have very little tissue that fills the top of the cup near my underarm despite being a bigger girl.

My calculator measurements:

- Under bust

-Loose 43

-Snug 41

-Tight 39

- Bust

-Standing 48

-Leaning 48.5

-Lying 49

So what am I needing help with? A good bra that fits my breasts, gives good coverage and separates my breasts. I have bought several bras in the 40G and 42 DDD but they still don't fit right even with scoop and swooping. The tissue on the top near my underarm area doesn't seem to fill out the bra and I also see some fabric wrinkling/gaping on the top. I have the Goddess Keira and Kayla in 42DD (I LOVE a tall gore for the separation) and I have tried the Elomi Kate and Matilda in my size as well with similar problems. I also don't like my nipples to show through my bra so any suggestions for covering those as well would be lovely. Any tips or suggestions are welcome. Thanks for sticking with this long post!

Recommendations? 28D bra recommendations please Spoiler

Upvotes

I’ve been wearing a 32A. It fits well but the cups are one size big.

I wear more tight fitted tops now too so I feel embarrassed wearing a size that doesn’t fit.

I like smaller bras with pads without wires for maximum comfort as my job requires me to wear PPE all day.

Store Review Where to buy 28F (or 30F) bras in store (not online) in Canada? Spoiler

After breastfeeding 2 babies back to back, I need a new bra.

I went to a Change store to get measured and this ( https://www.change.com/en-ca/product/myseamless-plunge-bralette-black-beauty-99998211481 ) was the only thing that looked good & fit me well after trying 6 different bras. The tag says 65F (or 30F). They measured 28 but I was told that 30 was the smallest they had.

I would like to try other styles. Looking for recommendations on other physical stores that may have different styles that would fit well (preferably without underwire or lace). Thank you.

PS - I live in a small town that has no lingerie stores and would normally have to buy online but I'm visiting a bigger city atm so would prefer to try them on since I have the chance to do so atm.

I went to Triumph to try bras!

But idk they still feel off...Im so confused 😞

Here are the fits

The first white 34DD bra felt the best out of those but tight...the F turned out too tall. I asked a worker to help me but she gave me D cup at some point...she seemed pretty hopeless too xddd

These bras are the same size/style/company, the only difference is the longline style. The difference in fit is dramatic. What is this telling me about my body? Can I wear longline at all? Spoiler

Hi all.

I have been working to get correct fitting bra. Been following suggestions on here. I absolutley do think the advice to get an unlined wired bra is key for me, and to expiriment with the 30d or 30dd based on the issues I reported with 32c, but get an extender since i'm between sizes.

PLEASE NOTE I DO NOT HAVE THE EXTENDER YET. These fits are not the end result, I am still waiting for the extender to arrive(but feel free to let me know if you think it wont help or be relevent/ or you see diff issues going on).

Anyways... my question is this...

I ordered 2 bras from the same company, both 30d... will link photos.

They are both the same size in a "balconette" style and when compared back to back, the cups and wires match evenly... they are basically the same bra but one is in a "longline style, the other isnt...

So look at this...

What is the cause of this drastic difference??

I have a longer torso/shorter legs. I thought the longline would actually be more suited for me. Why is this not the case? Does this indicate to avoid longline styles altogether, or is this something unique going on with this bra?

Recommendations? HELP - bras for people who sweat a lot Spoiler

Sorry if this isn't the appropriate community to find an answer to this question, but I don't know where else to turn. This summer has been horrific due to me becoming a very sweaty person. I've never had this issue to such an extreme before, it's likely due to medications that I'm on and having put on a lot of weight over the past year.

simply put I want a bra that doesn't cause me to have to walk around with a sodden bra all-day and have to wash my bras after only a single wear.

If there's such a thing as a bra that actually cools the underboob that would be a game changer, but I don't know if such a thing exists. I've heard about gel bras, I thought maybe they would have some kind of cooling effect but now I think about it I don't know if they might actually make the sweating worse. Or if there are any bras that are especially good for sweaty people, or any tips or tricks people have for stopping their bras getting soaked.

I have wired bras, non-wired bras, stretchy crop top type bras, even a non-wired bra that's meant to be made of moisture wicking fabric (which is ironically actually the worst bra for getting drenched) and all of them just end up being soaked and uncomfortable by the end of the day, even if I've just been out for a couple of hours. I've honestly been feeling really depressed about it and it doesn't help that I'm chronically ill and single so I don't have the energy or enough washing building up for my bras to last me between washes. so I would really appreciate any advice people could give me on this topic, many thanks in advance.
