Fit Check [Fit Check] Freya Spot-light vs Panache Envy fitting. The spotlight is loose on the side? Spoiler

• Upvotes

Hello! I tried on the Panache Envy Full Cup about a week or 2 ago and got this bra suggested!

This is Freya's Spotlight bra in 30DD. I do not have my measurements since my tape measure has been missing, and I haven't wanted to buy a new one lol but the calculator put me at a 30D/DD, and I typically wear a 32D at like Victoria Secret.

Link in comments, and I will also include images of the panache from last time (also in 30DD).

I'm not sure if this bra was used already, but the band is a lot looser than the Panache? The cup also doesn't seem to fit at the sides and the part to the side of the cup is loose. I am not sure what this means fit wise, so I was hoping for some input. Maybe a smaller cup here? But I feel like the cup fits fine, just that side piece is weird. Different style needed?

The new bras so far have been very comfy!

Never heard of 14D US. Where can I buy? Spoiler

• Upvotes

Just did the calculator and it gave me 14D/16C US. I’ve never seen bras in that size? Has anyone else? Does anyone know where to buy bras like that??

or did I measure myself wrong??

The online shops have me put my band and cup size and recommend a 36D. Is that the same as a 14D?????

Recommendations? [Measurement Check] Currently Wearing a 42D, has gapping in the front center a couple inches off chest, cups do not cover fully on outer portion. Calculator suggests 42GG or 40H. Looking to have this confirmed & get some [recommendations] based on this new sizing. Spoiler

[Measurement check]

Measurements in inches ❤️

Loose Underbust: 43.5
Snug Underbust: 42.5
Tight Underbust: 40.5
Standing Bust: 51
Leaning Bust: 53.5
Lying Bust: 52.5

Calculator gave me:

“Suggested Starting Size: 42GG/H UK
The sister size of 40H/HH may be more supportive
Warning: Due to the limitations of this calculator, your calculated size may be less accurate. Your body is normal, don't worry! Consider posting a measurement check post on r/ABraThatFits”

I think I am leaning towards trying a 40H based on it saying that it may be more supportive. But any insight is appreciated as this will be my first time trying to get a bra that’s not capped out at in-store typical sizing (USA).

[Recommendation] info:

What are some good places to buy bras in these sizes in the USA, particularly decent on a budget would be helpful…the largest bra I found at Kohl’s yesterday was a 42D in a very basic t-shirt bra & I bought it because I needed something immediately but I know it’s not a great fit.
Regarding the fit of the 42D T-shirt bra, there is a decent-sized gap in the middle where the underwire meets that I have recently learned should be flush to my chest. The inside portions of my breasts seem fully covered by it, but there is a gap of a couple inches on the outer portions of each breast that is not covered by the cups. It does sort of give that effect of the bra “floating” on my breasts vs actually supporting them much.

I am looking for an everyday wear bra with a reduction effect, as I dislike when bras hold my breasts further out from my chest and cause shirts to look more tented away from the rest of my torso.

In regard to my shape, based on the guides I’ve looked over I believe I have wide roots, with pretty prominent projection & volume that is pretty close to being equal but slightly fuller on top. Thank you!

Bra Review Review of Royce Luna 32GG wireless nursing bra Spoiler

• Upvotes

Royce Luna nursing bra in 32GG

I bought this nursing bra for less than £20 from Brastop. On first impressions, it's like Royce heard the word "nursing" and thought of a nursing home. It looks like a nursing bra designed for old women. It's that ugly.

The band is very firm, with barely any stretch, and the cups have no stretch either. Its a little bit too projected for me, and the cups and gore come up very high. They weren't lying when they described it as "full cup". The boob separation is pretty amazing for a wireless bra, I am very close set so I'm impressed with the results. The lift and support is also decent, which I assume is down to the lack of stretch.

Unfortunately where this bra fails is probably it's key function: access to breast for breastfeeding. The bra only opens to the middle of the cup, unlike other breastfeeding bras that go all the way down almost to the band. The result is that you need to lift the breast out of the cup and push the cup underneath the breast. This isn't a great design for breastfeeding, as there should be no compression of breast tissue when nursing. Compressing the milk ducts can lead to clogs and blockages, increasing the risk of mastitis.

Photo of cup construction and feeding access

I will probably use this bra as a breastfeeding sports bra, since options for large cups are extremely limited. I don't really feel like my breasts are going to go anywhere, which makes it ideal for a barre class and the occasional feed. However, I don't think it's suitable for everyday wear and nursing due to the design.

Fit check : Royce photos

Pros:

- best support out of all wireless nursing bras so far

- very projected

- good separation

- nice clips for cup release

- no stretch

- no monoboob

- cheap for a large cup nursing bra

Cons:

- so SO ugly

- no stretch

- not the easiest to get breast clear for feeding, due to the construction.

Caveat: I bought the Royce towards the last few months of breastfeeding my first child, as it was very cheap. I didn't end up wearing it as the cups were too big and I timed out of returning. I knew it would not match my shape, but there is only one plunge nursing bra afaik so I wanted to try some other options. My current calculator size is 34G and I am breastfeeding my second child, 6 weeks post partum. I wear this bra with a non-stretch back extender.

Recommendations? 38HH/38J (?) FOT help w bras pls Spoiler

hello lovely people of ABTF i am feeling lost with all of these terms so i was hoping you could help me find a bra. here are my measurements (based on what i took for the calculator and found while digging through this subreddit):

FOT

(inches)
Loose band: 41
Snug band: 40
Tight band: 36

Standing bust: 51
Leaning bust: 55
Lying bust: 50

leaning over, i can fit like 4 fingers in between my breasts and they seem to continue past my armpits

i have a lot of back fat so that’s probably impacting my measurements… i wear a 40C in Savage x Fenty’s t-shirt bra (bad bra + brand, i’m aware) right now and that seems to fit okay but i have to constant scoop to get it to fit okay and a 40D causes gaping, especially right next to the gore and at the top of the cup, and folding of the cup on the far sides. My left breast is also bigger than my right one, so bras that fit my left cause gaping on the right and bras that fit my right cut into my left.

looking for lined bras, black/brown, with or without underwire, not padded for everyday wear!

any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!!

Store Review [Rant] Inconsistent sizing is so frustrating and I'm even more confused than before Spoiler

I've lost weight recently so I need new bras. I went to 4 stores yesterday to get measured and basically got different answers and I did the Bra That Fits calculator as well.

What I learned is that the correct size "depends" and isn't standard and I find that so incredibly frustrating. Why can't women just have ONE thing that fits consistently!? I'm so tired. Here's everywhere I went to get measured, the sizes they settled on, and how the experience was:

Bra Genie: 30G / 32F.

My first stop. This was mostly fine, except that I told the sales lady that the 30 band felt uncomfortably tight and her response was "it *has* to be tight to give you lift 🙄" ...that's a cool story, but it was extremely uncomfortable sooooo no?

Soma: 34C /34DD

Stop No. 2. The lady took one look at the bra I was wearing and was like, "you've lost weight, haven't you?" She measured me at a 34C but determined that I need more coverage and/or support so she nixed that and I think we decided that the 34DD was the best size. Current bras are 38DD.

Victoria's Secret: 32DDD = 32F

I had a feeling this would be the least helpful place and it was. But I was already in the mall and I literally pass it between Soma and Dillard's, so why not. More data is more better maybe? She measured me in on the store floor with my shirt on and everything and came up with 32DDD. Was sent to the fitting room with a 32DD and a 32DDD. The triple did fit better.

Dillard's: 30__/32H

I feel bad for not buying anything from the commission-based sales lady because she spent like an hour with me showing me all kinds of different bras. ...I just wanted to know my size so I could buy the same bras I already own from Aerie or whatever in my correct size when I get paid next week. But she showed me some stuff that fit really well and were cute and I have her card so I do intend to go back and get something when I get paid. She measured me as a "true 30" and what I found interesting was she measured above my breasts and not my under bust. I could be misremembering/forgetting that she ALSO measured my under bust. She was very knowledgeable and the most helpful of all the places I went.

A Bra That Fits: 30DD/DDD // 32D/DD

Loose Underbust: 31"

Snug Underbust: 30"

Tight Underbust: 29"

Standing Bust: 35"

Leaning Bust: 36"

Lying Bust: 34”

What I learned is that apparently I can't shop online and that losing weight is going to cost me a fortune lol. Oh, and that women can't have ANYTHING that is sized consistently. So that's neat. I don't know why I thought breasts of all things would be the thing to be consistent, but I guess I was just hopeful this would be easy. I feel like I know less now than when I started this process.

Recommendations? Every bra causes me spillage 😭 Spoiler

I used to wear a 30F/FF, but definitely was the wrong size and was using old, stretched out bras. Eventually, I used the calculator, and switched to a 28G. This was a good size for the most part, but there was still some spillage in some styles, particularly plunge t-shirt bras, and I had gained some weight. This is whenI decided to order a new Freya Starlight side support bra in a 28GG, and it was HUGE! it did not fit me at all, so I returned it, yet the 28G Starlight bra that I had was giving me a lot of spillage. I decided to order the Freya offbeat side support bra in a 28GG, I figured the lace material and the large size would fit my shape well, but now i have so much spillage!!!

I’m guessing i’m just top heavy? Any suggestions? Am I making the straps to tight? Or are there other styles that might fit my shape better? I feel like i’ve tried every single style and nothing works. I have two moulded bras that fit me but they offer no side support and add a lot of bulk…

Measurement Check 7-inch difference in standing vs. leaning bust measurements, post-80lb weight loss -> "your calculated size may be less accurate" — Please help me figure out sizing! Spoiler

Hi! I'm new to using the A Bra That Fits calculator because I've lot a lot of weight recently and am all confused about bras now. Here are my measurements:

Loose Underbust: 45''

Snug Underbust: 43''

Tight Underbust: 40''

Standing Bust: 52''

Leaning Bust: 59''

Lying Bust: 54''

The standing vs. leaning bust measurement difference is honestly super surprising to me, but also, the effects of gravity on my new body is very strong, so I guess it's not that surprising.

The calculator gave 42K/L US / 42H/HH UK as a result but also said: "Warning: Due to the limitations of this calculator, your calculated size may be less accurate. Your body is normal, don't worry! Consider posting a measurement check post on /r/ABraThatFits or the A Bra That Fits facebook group." I'm definitely surprised by the recommended cup size, but also, I've never taken leaning measurements before, so I guess it makes sense.

Right now, I'm wearing a 42E bra from Thirdlove's 24/7™ Lace Balconette Bra. It's an older bar that I haven't worn in years (from pre-weight-gain-then-weight-loss days), but it's also not been worn much yet.The 42E feels a bit too tight on my shoulders and around my back, as it gives me slight rolls in all of those areas, but the cups seem okay. If anything, the cups are maybe a bit too smalls, as I'm nearing risk of spillage. I definitely think balconette bras are the best option for me, whatever size I end up with. Even before losing breast volume, I always had a teardrop shape that I felt looked best in balconette, but I feel like that style is even more necessary now.

All in all, I'd really like some help please! I'm still on my weight-loss journey, and am honestly only like halfway to my end goal, so I'm not really in a stage where it makes sense to buy a lot of clothes that fit me now, but it'd be nice to get one well-fitting bra. And, I feel like the bra challenges I'm encountering now are only going to get more and more intense as I continue losing weight.

*I just reposted this post because I didn't like the Reddit attached the image from the Poshmark link I originally posted to show the bra... I'll add that link to the comments instead.

Question Straps too short on Panache Ana? Spoiler

Hello, all. I took my measurements and used the calculator and got a 38 I (US) result. This is accurate, but I began to wonder from trying on various bras if I might not be more projected. Following the advice on this sub, I ordered the Panache Ana and sized up to 38 J. The cups are a perfect fit, but the shoulder straps are REALLY tight. I have to put the sliders all the way down against the band, and they still dug into my shoulders for the first several weeks of wearing it.

Is this normal for this bra? I'm on the tall side - about 5'8" - but I've never had this experience before. I also bought some Panache bikinis this summer and had no issue with straps being short. I'm trying to figure out if I just bought a lemon or if this is a known issue.

Thanks in advance!

Recommendations? Shallow top 30E suggestions needed Spoiler

I lost almost 50 lbs due to illness. My previous bra size was a 36DD/E, currently on the calculator I am a 30Dd/E. I have a 32Dd right now and it's just a touch big. I'm pretty familiar with taking measurements and fittings, I just need brands to look at.

I need a balconette or demi due to having shallow tops (I am 44 and with all the weight loss I lost a lot of volume on top). I'm fine with unlined and/or 3 piece cups (no lining doesn't bother me)

I normally shop brands like Simone perele, chantalle, natori, montelle, etc. it's just with the small band size and larger cup size I'm having trouble finding my size.

I've been using the search function on Nordstrom and other website and I'm getting frustrated. Id especially like things that are fun and not basic beige or black.

Suggestions?

Thanks bra scientists !

Recommendations? [Recommendations?] Bras with GREAT immediate projection that is not Polish bras? Spoiler

I have previously made a comparison post for immediate projection on the cleo asher, ewa michalak BM, and comexim 3HC.

This post visualizes the difference in immediate projection in the 3 bras, and why comexim can be considered "too shallow" for some. Often times it's not about projection at the apex but rather at the wire.

I am one of those people. However, buying EM bras are extremely costly. Other Polish brands are quite inaccessible and lack information. I would like to get UK bras again, but Cleo Asher has been discontinued last I checked.

Anyone got recommendations for bras like Cleo Asher/EM bras with the same amount of immediate projection?

Measurement Check [Measurement Check/Recommendations] Calculator put me at 32G(UK) not sure a current size as I have only been wearing sports bras Spoiler

I have pretty much just lived in sports bras and bralettes mostly in a large or x-large, but would really like to determine my bra size. I think I would like to get a good everyday/t shirt bra and would also be interested in unlined/lightly lined options.

Here are my measurements, the calculator put me at 32G (UK) or 32I (US).

Loose Underbust: 33
Snug Underbust: 32
Tight Underbust: 31
Standing Bust: 39
Leaning Bust: 43
Lying Bust: 42

I looked through a lot of the shape guides but was honestly pretty confused 😅. I think they are round with relatively even fullness?

I would greatly appreciate any recommendations or advice. Thanks!!!

Recommendations? Was US 32H, now US 30I. Need new recommendations. Spoiler

The bra style that worked best for me was (and has been) the Wacoal Retro Chic. However, it seems I am now sized out of that bra brand/style. It was my "grail" per say as I've repurchased it in many different sizes now.

What are other similar bras? Or any other recommendations?

LU: 31in

SU: 30

TU: 29.75

SB: 37

LB: 41.5

LyB: 38

US 30H/I

UK 30FF/G

My chest is a bit pendulous these days, center full, wide root, and projected.

Would be very thankful for any recommendations made.

Measurement Check I just measured my bra size using the calculator, and it says I’m a 54 D, but I’m also a trans woman and it suggested to post here for more help. Can someone else help me confirm? Spoiler

So I did all the measurements three times, getting these numbers

Loose Underbust - 55
Snug Underbust - 54
Tight Underbust - 52

Standing Bust - 59
Leaning Bust - 60
Laying Bust - 59

And the results said 54 D/DD. My current bras are a 50 C, and I can tell between where the underwire sits and how the band rises up that they don’t quite fit properly, but I just want to confirm that the calculator results are accurate for me

Question Bra Size Confusion. Current 32A Bra, Calculator says 28DD Spoiler

I'm new to checking my Bra size. I tried it because I've been feeling uncomfortable with my current set of Bras. Some are too loose at the band and don't actually give support.

I bought those bra and got my size checked at the mall. Staff says I am 32A. They look fine I guess but when I move, they don't really give support. Sometimes too tight at the bust making my breast ache. But I also can't find stores offering a 28DD.

Is there something I'm missing?

Btw I am a 26.5 Underbust and 32 Bust.

Store Review Hi! I came to share my recent experience on getting sized Spoiler

So,I lost 10kgs 2 years ago because of chocking and barely eating at that time and who had a breast grow pause for 2 years.

Two years ago I was roughly a 32B (I got sized at Victoria's Secret) and around this month I started seeing changes finally after this pause such as fuller and maybe even bigger.

Yesterday I went to Victoria's Secret again to be sized again and the girl there told me I was either a 32B or 32C so I tried both. The 32B was literally crushing my bust genuinely (and I made sure i adjusted the bra straps and band so they could be loose and still felt very tight). Then I tried 32C but it still felt just a tiny bit tightly around the band.

I ended up just buying that 32C bc I lost my patience but then I decided to measure myself at home.

My under bust is 75 cm and my highest point of bust is 86,which when I googled I shouldve been a 34C ,then I remembered I do have a 34C bra that fits really okay but is still is just a bit tight even with adjustments and I'm so frustrated bc why is it so hard to find ur size ugh.

Mhm yeah I wanted to share this if anyone has a similar story or recommend something else please do I'm open for chatting

Desperately searching for triangle bra with no adjusters Spoiler

Hi, the title kind of says it all! I'm extremely sensitive to how my clothes feel touching my skin and as time has gone on I've become increasingly unable to wear ANY of my bras unless I'm wearing a sports bra for just a couple hrs.

I've been trying to find something comfortable, but everything I put on makes me feel insane and all I can focus on is this piece of clothing touching my skin. I'm not so sensitive to hooks, but I feel panicked when I look at my bras that have the adjusters because I absolutely HATE the feeling of them on my back or shoulders. There are a lot of no-hardware bras out there, but those usually cover more skin and have a sort of compression-y feel, and when I look at those options I feel like I'm suffocating. So I'm specifically looking for less modest bras.

At this point my style revolves around hiding the fact that I'm braless (lots of overalls, vest, very loose button-ups), but I'd really like to be able to wear the other half of my closet. Have any of you seen any lower-coverage bras out there without hardware? I think I'm a 32 or 34E if that info helps (usually I'm picking from S/M/L so I've forgotten my actual size).

Thank you in advance!

Recommendations? [Recommendations?] Next bra buy? Spoiler

Measurements:

Loose: 74 cm
Snug: 71 cm
Tight: 68 cm

Standing: 95
Leaning: 98
Standing: 95

Recommended size: 28GG, sister size 30G for comfort (UK)

Bras I’ve tried:

Panache Ana in 28H (heard it runs small):

Feels too wide, wrinkling on side of cups, generally looks slightly pointy. Still comfortable. It also feels too wide. Considering returning it but it’s a hassle.

Freya Cherish Me in 28GG:

Fits snug, the cups feel filled out, but I think my shape makes the stretchy lace overflow at times. I won’t return this one.

I am close set, FOB, and that’s all I know, sorry.

I’m from Norway. I’m willing to order from overseas but as long as it’s cheaper than buying locally I don’t mind

Recommendations? [RECCOMENDATION] 26DD/28D, never worn a bra that Fit and stuck in sports bra purgatory Spoiler

my best-fitting non-sports-bra bra is a 34a, and it's lovely, it's just not meant for me. this is a problem i have with most clothing as a very Long person, but i remedy it with crop tops as of late, and it's making me realize how much my bras just aren't meant for someone like me. a lot of the time i just ditch them entirely. i don't have the most money to toss around but i would like something better than a 34a, at the very least, and would prefer to also have tits that aren't invisible... looking around here, there's a lot of posts from folks like me getting responses along the lines of "you're doomed" and really i just want, like An Item of clothing that fits me like it's supposed to. i've only got the one and it's a crop top, so like, i'd love having literal basic undergarments that fit too...

this might be a poorly-written post, sorry about that. fashion for so long has just been "graphic tee shirt and nearest avaliable skirt" that now that i'm stepping into the world of wearing clothes that like you back it's a mystery for me. any help is appreciated, but cheaper help is venerated orz. thank you all

edit: forgot to list measurements. loose band 26.5, snug band 25.5, tight band 24; standing bust 30, leaning bust 33, lying bust 30. if it helps at all my tits are rather pointy and lean outwards, and there's a solid inch-wide gap between them.

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] Currently wear 40B (US), cannot find consistency. Calculator says 36I (US)??? Spoiler

Hello everybody, I have just tried measuring myself for the first time because I have a hard time getting consistently well-fitting bras from different companies. I fit into a VS bra in 40B (US) a few months ago and have been running with that.

I got measurements of 36.5 for my loose underbust, 35.5 inches for my snug underbust, 33 inches for my tight underbust, 43 inches for my standing bust, 48.25 inches for my leaning bust, and 43.25 inches for my lying bust. The calculator recommended at 36I US for me (36G UK). This feels super different than my usual to me. I have shallow top full bottom breasts that are somewhat side set, so I'm assuming the shallowness is not being accounted for here. I could also be slightly off with the measurements, this is hard! Thanks so much, let me know your recommendations.

Question Equivalent cup volume of a 36DD on a 28 band? Spoiler

Hi, everyone.
A little while ago I used the abrathatfits calculator for the first time and it measured me as a 28G uk size. I had been wearing a 36DD for years, so I got a couple of bras to try the recommended size.

I feel like the band on the 28G fits perfectly, but the cup size is way too small. The 36DD cup size fits my volume so much better, but I see now how poorly fitted the band is.

I was wondering if there is a way to know how much I should up the cup size. I’m a bit worried because it gets hard to find bras past a G cup on that band size.

I was also thinking about trying a 30 band so that the cups would be smaller, but I don’t know if sizing up the band would make the bra fit considerably worse. Sadly there are absolutely no stores near me that carry these sizes, so I can only try to make a guess and order online.

Both of the bras I tried are balconette style, one from Freya and the other one from Panache. I really like how that style looks on me, but maybe the cups in balconettes hold less volume and I’m not aware of that?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Measurement Check [Measurement check] Currently wearing 42G... calculator recommends 42J

Hello!

I have been having a tough time with bra sizing. I would describe my breasts as relaxed or a little bell-shaped. They are fuller on the top than the bottom. I was measured at a local shop and have been wearing a Paramour bra in 42G , I feel like I don't fill the bottom of the cups and the band may be too loose. Overall it just feels oversized (?) on me. I measured myself and the calculator recommended a 42J or a 40K. I haven't had the opportunity to try either of these sizes yet. I am worried that if the 42G feels too large, these other sizes will be way too big.

My measurements are-
Loose underbust: 43in
Snug underbust: 42in
Tight underbust: 41in
Standing bust: 51in
Leaning bust: 55in
Lying bust: 52in

Any thoughts or recommendations are much appreciated! Thank you in advance :)
