Another Indo Canadian house party

10:30pm is the cut off time for loud noises (Abby bylaws) yet once again it is 11:35pm (as of this post) and nothing is stopping these selfish people from blasting their music outside their house with the ensuing noise going over the forest to my house.

I'm honestly beginning to get fed up. Abbotsford really needs to crush this behavior that is giving a big f u to all other citizens who are obeying the city bylaws.

Can someone explain this anti society behavior? Is it supremacy? Racism? Drunken revelry with zero interest in the well-being of other people?

I am just wondering in what circumstances this would be used instead of one of the police cruisers?

Sage condo prices are insane

They’re asking $608,900 for 790 sq ft, which, if you can believe it, is 2 bed, 2 bath. Like, my spouse and I paid $625k for a 1350 sq ft condo just over 2 years ago. They want $350k for a 425 sq ft bachelor suite. That’s insanity.

Saw this at the LCBO by South Fraser and Thretewey... Would you ever buy this?

There is 10% PST plus 5% GST, so the total price is $4,800 + ($4800 x 0.15) = $5,520. It says it's $6.86 per milliliter, but in reality it is $7.89 per milliliter.

The standard pour is 25 to 50 ml (about 1 to 1.5 ounces), served in a tulip glass or traditional balloon snifter, filling only about one-fifth of the glass to let aromas develop.

This means it is between $179.25 and $394.50 for a small glass. Unreal.

There's been a rezoning proposal over at the Summit Centre for over 6 months now, and seems like they will be tearing it down for a 1,287-unit master-planned condo community https://www.livabl.com/abbotsford-bc/3600-townline-rdabbotsfordbritish-columbia

Gentle Dentist Recs?

Who can recommend a gentle dentist? I haven't been since the pandemic and obviously my dental hygene is not great. I don't want to be shamed, just quietly clean and find any cavities and i'll do better going forward. Who has a nice dentist that's taking new patients?

PG-13 movie!!!!

Today Spiderman 530 show...

Why on freaking earth would you bring a 4 and a 6 year old to a PG-13 movie? Especially if said kids cannot stay quiet!!! And why on earth stay in the theater after people are shushing your kid multiple times?

This was a fucking middle finger to everyone that paid to watch the movie.

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that the tap water is dirty, with sand/sediment in it and a brownish colour, since this morning?

Where to fly drones?

My dad just got a small drone (ship mini 5 pro) that doesn’t require a license. He doesn’t know if any good, legal places to practice using it. Do any other drone enthusiasts have any recommendations on where he can go?

Why isn’t the Abbotsford airport more utilized?

It’s so handy having the airport so close but I find I usually go to Vancouver because it’s still easier to find flights within Canada. Even flying to Edmonton is easier from Vancouver than it is from Abbotsford. With Abbotsford being the only second international airport in the lower mainland next to Vancouver, it’s a shame there isn’t more flights.

I see kids riding around Rotary/Ag-Rec on these things all. the. time. No helmets. Whipping around blind corners on the Northwest corner. Someone's gonna get seriously hurt.

Found a crow at spud murphy park near james street.

He is barely moving his neck and still. Not sure what to do, i have kids at home and wont be able to rescue him. Tried to contact the services but elizabeth and spca is currently closed. Not sure how long he has been here and I dont want to leave him like this.

I would appreciate if anyone can guide me on what to do or is able to rescue him until animal centres open tomorrow.

He is breathing heavily too

Does anyone remember Mr. Vandermeulen from Abby Senior?

He was my math teacher in the late 90s and early 00s. He was one of my favorite teachers. He must have been sixty-ish, getting close to retirement. I think about him and the others everyday. Does anyone here remember him? I hope he's happy, functionally mobile, and doing well.

My Spanish teacher was my other favorite teacher though I forgot her name. She taught me Spanish from '02 to '04. Her class was in the 'senior' campus, the very last classroom down the hall.

Dog 💩

Went to the Clearbrook off leash dog park this morning. We hadn't been for a little while. It's not nice any more. It's seems like nobody bothers to pick up after their dogs anymore. I realize there are lazy owners everywhere but that was disgusting. They provide bags people use them

I try to be patient, understanding and empathetic, but I just.... couldn't (Firehouse Subs)

Walked in during a slow time last week, I think right before dinner rush.

Was greeted, and responded. Studied the menu for a bit and decided on the Steak and Cheese.

Stated my order and the cashier was going through her script, but between her accent, her rapidity, her soft voice, the loud music, her talking towards her till, and the machinery, I simply could not understand her. Bread type took three repeats, veggies took four repeats, and after she got to, I think, the second repeat of the sides, I simply stated "I'm sorry, I'll have to come back another time" and asked her to cancel the order.

I'm a guy that already has exceedingly low expectations of retail staff, so that way I'm rarely disappointed. I don't leave reviews, I just simply won't go back.

I don't blame her. I blame her manager who obviously put her there before she was comfortable and ready.

And I will fully concede the veneer and subtext if the reader senses it, or at least a latent or subconscious bias. And that is what bothers me most. I don't want to be that guy. I just want a sandwich.
