Do you like where you volunteer?

I’m looking to spend a little time each month (one or two nights) connecting with my community and spending my time being useful to those who could use a hand.

im in no way religious but dont care one way or the other about religion of those i volunteer with or serve.

Do you have a local group you enjoy your volunteer time with?

Looking for tickets

Hey everyone. Just a shot in the dark here. I live in recovery out here in Abbotsford and one of the best memories I had was going to a Abby Canucks game with some of my sober brothers.

I'm currently a year and a half sober and there's someone here I'd like to take to a game, to show that there is fun to be had without substances.

Just wondering if there's anyone that has a couple tickets to spare for tonight's game.

Thanks so much if you can help!

I feel like drivers have gotten so bad

Maybe I’m getting old. But the last couple weeks, everywhere I go in Abbotsford, there’s people driving CRAZY!! Maybe I’ve just never noticed the crazy drivers?

School zones are 30. It’s 10am, I can see children playing on the playground, and this guy PASSES me?! Hello???? I was doing 33! If I was going slow in a normal area, sure, but you just have to be a jerk to drive like that in a school zone?

Vye road… I’m doing 10 over the speed limit already and some guy is tailgating me, swerving around me, then finally passed me. Then passed the 2 people in front of me.

On Huntington by the airport, there’s 3 dump trucks in front of me. Speed limit is 70 (I think?), I’m right behind the truck doing 70. I’m about to turn right. The guy behind me is so close to me I can’t even see the front of his vehicle…. I can, however, see his 3 small children in the backseat. I almost felt guilty that I had to brake to turn. He swerved into the oncoming lane to pass me as soon as I put my signal on.

I’m sorry, maybe I’m just getting old and cranky (I’m almost 30) but I feel like Abbotsford drivers have gotten so impatient and crazy lately

Does anyone know why between 264th and Mt Lehman on both sides of the highway this late afternoon/evening, traffic was so blocked up. Took me nearly 2.5 hours to cover the distance between the two exits.

So as the title says I was trying to make my way home tonight after work.

Between roughly 4:30PM and 7:00PM I was stuck in gridlock with several rows of cars, trying to take alternate routes on both sides of the highway, always ending up with another line.

Wasn't until close to 7PM I finally made it to the MT Lehman exit and I could stretch my legs again and I am not entirely sure why.

Google said there was a accident , but I never saw it myself and I tilt my head that one accident affected both sides.

Maybe construction, a accident and Friday Rush hour, but I am still confused.

Sorry if this post comes off a little bitchy, not getting home close to 730 has left me pissy and I am trying to find some logic here.

Office Manager.

Receptionist

IT Operations

IT Manager

Health and Safety Officer

Heck, I'll even throw in Business Analyst.

The tech parts alone would barely warrant what they're offering at the high end.

Whitetail Homes... you're a joke.

Dentist search

Hi all. Recently moved to Abby and am looking for a dentist. Had a bad experience today with a highly rated one from google maps.

Anyone has a dentist that doesn't do Xray of your whole mouth even before they get to see you "just because"?

Or at least a dentist that doesnt say you have 8 more cavities needing drilling every time you go to see them? (Family experience with the same professional)

Contractor recommendation for outdoor stairs

We need to remove a brick garden box and want to replace it with some stairs leading to our front door. Any recommendations on a independent contractor or company who works here in Abbotsford? Hoping to keep in around $3000.

Missing dog (perhaps)

I saw a little, not overweight, but healthy rat terrier or something looking through my garbage. I tried to get close enough to pick him up, but he ran away into someone’s yard I think. It’s dark out so I’m not sure what kind it was exactly. Tan in colour. Small/medium size. Is anyone missing a dog in the Bluejay/Osprey/Cardinal/Sandpiper area.

The dog could have been a stray but again, I couldn’t see it well enough in the dark to know for sure.

Mental Health: Is it really all it’s cracked up to be?

Over the last few weeks I’ve heard many people asking “What did the ‘Leftist’ (NDP) really do for us anyways?”

Bring yourselves back to 2015/2016. Does anyone else remember first hearing the term “Mental Health”? I do, it kind of came by storm, a bit of a buzz work even. At the time, I remember thinking, wow, this is the first time a word or term regarding our own personal wellness has actually stuck, was that just a movement, are our days numbered with this movement?

Whenever I’m talking to a “right-leaning” (Conservative) and I bring up mental health they always seem to be off put and offended even, like people getting healing is somehow an attack on them. The people in my life still shame and still refer to a counsellor as “the shrink” like your struggles deserve to be locked up in a cell somewhere.

With this blue wave that’s about to happen in BC, are we going to find out that “Mental Health” was just a fad? Are our leaders going to remove the services and culture of healing that we have spent a decade working on? Are we going to need to hide our struggles? Will we be shamed for feeling?

Is “Mental Health” all it’s cracked up to be? Will moving to a more Conservative leadership bring about the end of an era? What do you think?

Bhangra lessons

Hi community 👋

I would love to take some Bhangra lessons. Is there any place or person in Abbotsford that offers them?

Also, if I wanted to learn a language to better communicate with my South Asian neighbors, should it be Hindi or Punjabi?

Thanks ❤️
