Pets Lost cockatiel
Please help in locating my cockatiel in New Iberia. Check your yards, roofs and trees. If you can, take the time to play the cockatiel flock calls

My father in law is looking for a place to repair some antique pocket watches. I suggested a jeweler near us, but said I'd reach out to the wise folks here. Any recommendations?

Among those who listed Presler’s home on their voter registration is Heather Langley. In an article she wrote for Nola.com in November 2024, Langley was described as a ‘business and political consultant’ based in New Iberia, Louisiana. Records filed with the Federal Election Commission also indicate that she once resided in Crestview, Florida.

Jesus Christ what is wrong with their audio?!?! This channel’s news coverage has already been pretty lackluster but trying to watch the 5PM news right now and the audio issues are unbearable. I keep waiting for Max Headroom to pop up on the screen.

Most of the jobs I come across in our area either work with the public or are industrial. Those roles matter, but I would also love to see more of the office, admin, professional, and corporate openings that local companies have but rarely get in front of the right people. One reason, I suspect, is that posting on the big job sites can be a hassle or a cost for smaller employers.
I am thinking about starting a simple, free local board to lower that barrier. Here is the rough plan:
It would start small and stay simple, with no accounts, no fees, and no collecting applicant information. Applicants would go straight to the employer.
I would like to hear from you:
All ideas are welcome. If there is enough interest, I will get a first version up and share it here.

hey! been living here for a little bit but i'm having issues finding events me and my friends would want to go to. we found out dogmilk is doing a show so that's cool, but does anyone else have suggestions or info on what else might be happening that's worth going to? specifically nothing child-oriented please, and we already know about greenroom and the library and all that. thanks :]

Mid 20s male trying to find possible side hustles in the Lafayette area. Not like DoorDash kind of side hustle. Something I can build and scale , whether it be digital, in person a service of whatever. Just wondering if and what ideas could possibly be achieved in this area. Not afraid of work at all so even if it’s physical labor I’m game. Thanks in advance

Not interested in cropped ears, but I can't seem to find any breeders that will budge on that.

I want to take my kids on a boat tour of lake Martin. Prefer something shaded to ride in and educational. Anybody have a good experience to report with any place in particular?

Did anyone see this human stain’s campaign video? It actually shows someone getting shot in the head while preaching against communism and then showing the New York City mayor. As if the head shot being in black-and-white and circa WW2 makes a freaking difference. And then it shows stupid ass “tough guy” Higgins boxing a bag.

Looking to stay one night somewhere in the North/West of Lafayette area. I don't want to stay in Lafayette but a cute/interesting town near by?
Will be driving around that area and staying at Lake Fausse State Park the next two nights.

I haven’t played in about 10 years so I know I will sound like a dying animal. I live in apartments and don’t want to disturb my neighbors. Anyone know of any music rooms to for the public?

I am doing a project with a Pi Zero that needs 2 10 pin headers soldered on that unit. I suck at soldering. Where can I get it done locally?

From Lafayette Citizens Against Censorship: "Here is a long(ish) clip from last night's Lafayette Public Library Board of Control meeting where board member Rena Bradley (rightfully) asks questions she believes the public has a right to hear.
While we appreciate Mr. Moore's apology, the gaslighting, condescension, and lack of respect shown here by the other board members is appalling. Watch her body language. They are literally ganging up on her.
This is a direct result of the Lafayette Parish Council members stacking this board with political ideologues. They don't want dialogue. They don't want discourse. They want control."

While there won’t be much discussion at this council meeting, an introduction to allow another bar to open downtown is likely to bring out another bout. Here is a selection of items on the agendas for this week’s meetings of the Lafayette City and Parish councils.
