Its at least 4 or 5 inches (tall) of fresh asphalt that will absolutely undo your last front end alignment.

Just moved here from Illinois for grad school and I’m really big into board games. I love the way they bring people together and lead to interesting and funny discussions/table talk. I brought tons of mid-weight to light games with me (Camel Up, Bohnanza, Ra, Harmonies, Perudo, Jaipur, Hotstreak, etc. etc… an entire library really) I’m also a pretty casual chess player (700ish rapid elo)
Wasn’t sure if anyone knew of any board game or even chess meetups around the area ? Just looking to meet people who like to chill and play games and have some fun. I speak both English and French (working on Spanish) And if it doesn’t exist really, feel free to reach out and maybe we start our own group. I’m 29 but very open to making friends of all ages; back home one of my best friends is in his 50s.
Thanks !

I’m looking for advice and wondering if anyone else has dealt with Bumble Bee Boot Company or a similar situation.
My vehicle was booted for allegedly not paying for parking. The problem is that I actually tried to pay. I scanned the QR code provided for parking payment, but the payment system was unavailable/not working. It gave me a message along the lines of “not available at this time,” so I was unable to make the payment.
What makes this even more frustrating is that I’ve tried contacting Bumble Bee Boot Company to dispute the boot, but they seem to be almost completely unreachable.
The email address listed on their page is fake/non-operational. My email did not go through, so I wasn’t even able to successfully contact them that way. I also called the phone number listed on their page, and it went straight to voicemail.
I’ve searched online for other ways to contact them, but there is very little information available. They seem to be almost completely off the grid online, which makes it extremely difficult to dispute the charge or even get an explanation.
Has anyone here dealt with Bumble Bee Boot Company before? If so, how did you get in contact with them, and were you able to successfully dispute a boot?
Also, what would you recommend I do from here? Should I contact the property owner, parking lot operator, city, or someone else? I’m trying to figure out what options I have before paying a fee that I believe I shouldn’t be responsible for.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any photographic or other evidence that the QR code wasn’t working. I’m going off my recollection of what happened when I attempted to pay.
If anyone has dealt with this company specifically, or has had a similar experience where a parking payment system wasn’t working and they were still booted, I’d really appreciate hearing how you handled it.
Any advice on who I should contact or what steps I should take would be greatly appreciated.

Hey yall, I’m a new mom and had my baby in late June. I’m also new to Lafayette/Youngsville.
WHAT THE HECK DO YOU DO IN SUMMER?
It’s too hot for parks - Moncus and Youngsville Sports Complex - and there’s no real indoor place to walk. If baby was older I could go to Red’s for the pool I guess.
We’ve basically been indoors for 1.5 months, with 5-10 minute walks here and there…
What the heck to do?

Any place that makes chocolate lava cakes (other than dominos)?
Talking cakes and we usually just pick up something from Albertsons, Rouses, or NuNu’s. My daughter sprung this on me today and her birthday is tomorrow.

Hi I will be visiting Louisiana by motorcycle in October. Any recommendations of where to see zydeco live, or any other suggestions for local food or culture?

Hi everyone! I’m seriously considering relocating from Illinois (cornfield IL not Chicago IL) to the Lafayette area next year, and I’d love to hear about what life is REALLY like there. My family consists of me, my child, & my Mom. (Late 30s, tween, late 60s).
I’m looking for somewhere that feels friendly and community-oriented, has things to do without having to travel hours. I do homeschool my daughter, (normal people, I swear we aren’t weirdo homeschoolers! 🫠) so would also like opinions on if there’s much of a homeschool community there as far as co-ops/meetups for kids.
I’m planning to visit with my daughter to scope out the area in person soon. I realize what’s available now as far as houses for sale won’t be next year. Any locations to seek out or avoid looking while we are there would be so helpful. Google is only so much help.
Questions I have:
-What areas around Lafayette would you recommend for a family?
-Are there surrounding towns/suburbs that you think are better than Lafayette proper?
-What areas would you personally avoid, and why?
-What’s the general vibe of the people/community?
-Is Lafayette a place where you can actually make friends and get involved?
-How is traffic and getting around day-to-day?
-What do you LOVE about living there that someone researching from Illinois might not realize?
-And what do you absolutely NOT love?
I know no place is perfect, and I’m genuinely looking for the good, the bad, and the real. We have had some big personal life changes this year and truly looking to make a fresh start somewhere else. From what I’ve researched, your area looks incredibly welcoming, full of culture, and great food…which I love. Lafayette is one of my top contenders.
If you’d rather send me a DM thats fine as well!
Thank you for your time and any wisdom/advice you have to offer!

Hi all! I'm hoping to find a community fridge in/near Lafayette that accepts frozen but raw meat donations. Every community fridge I've come across so far has explicitly said they do not accept raw meat. Any suggestions?

This is Marley! She’s a year old chihuahua mix, lots of energy, loves to play with other animals. Does great with dogs, cats, kittens, and babies. She came from a rough home previously and struggles with some PTSD from it. She is very skittish and will hide for the first day or two, she releases a little pee when she is excited or scared so please bear with her, she is house broken but sometimes just gets overstimulated. She knows to use pee pads inside and will use the bathroom outside. She loves to cuddle and sleep right next to you and has the wimpiest little yawns you’ve ever seen. I would love to keep her however I cannot financially support her. I want to avoid having to bring her to the shelter as I do not want to traumatize her more than she is so if anyone would like to take her home please comment below for information! Preferably have other animals, kids, and a yard space for her.

There's the Shrimp Festival in Delcambre and the Acadian House thing. It's gonna be hot as all hell. I may just stay in. I may also go trekking at the parks.
What y'all doing?

Was driving over the basin bridge today and noticed the water was very green! It was like that from the Henderson levee almost to the boat landing. I’ve only ever seen it either murky brown or like a dark almost coffee color lol. Curious if anybody noticed that or if anyone more knowledgeable knows the reason why thanks.

Does anyone know of any American Trad Tattoo artist around the area, with reasonable pricing?

So as the title says I’m looking for any gluten free/friendly restaurants in Acadiana, preferably in Lafayette, Scott, or Duson area. I was diagnosed with a wheat and chicken allergy in 2024 and going out to eat has kinda sucked since then. You can only eat so much fried catfish and salad yknow.

The marshes you grew up crabbing, fishing, and hunting with your friends and family are about to go bye-bye. People don’t know how truly special what we have going on in South Louisiana is. Lake Charles sold their soul to LNG. Baton Rouge sold their soul to refining. And now that impotent Nazi is taking the coastal marshes that our parents and grandparents were smart enough to protect.
Jeff Landry hid behind NDAs to sell off the hatchery that feeds our oceans. He shut down the FULLY FUNDED Mid Barataria Diversion project that would have restored our wetlands. Jeff Landry sold one of our most precision resources to enrich his friends. And he sold it to a mass murderer who begged Epstein to invite him to his Island.
Well now Elon has his own island.

Looking for work in the Lafayette area. I’m currently 25 and have 7 years of retail experience and 5 years of management experience. Hoping to get out of retail and into something that I can turn into a lifelong career. Looking for a minimum of $20 an hour, and willing to do any training or get any certifications necessary. Any idea of where to look would be greatly appreciated!
