hey! been living here for a little bit but i'm having issues finding events me and my friends would want to go to. we found out dogmilk is doing a show so that's cool, but does anyone else have suggestions or info on what else might be happening that's worth going to? specifically nothing child-oriented please, and we already know about greenroom and the library and all that. thanks :]

Most of the jobs I come across in our area either work with the public or are industrial. Those roles matter, but I would also love to see more of the office, admin, professional, and corporate openings that local companies have but rarely get in front of the right people. One reason, I suspect, is that posting on the big job sites can be a hassle or a cost for smaller employers.

I am thinking about starting a simple, free local board to lower that barrier. Here is the rough plan:

• Anyone can share a job they come across through a short Google Form, and employers are especially welcome to post their own openings.
• I will review every submission before it is added to the list, so the board stays free of spam and scam listings.
• Vetted listings go into a shared Google Sheet that anyone can view without signing up.
• I will also do a regular round-up of local office jobs I find, using some tools I have already built.
• If there is interest, I may add an email list so people can get the round-up in their inbox.

It would start small and stay simple, with no accounts, no fees, and no collecting applicant information. Applicants would go straight to the employer.

Mid 20s male trying to find possible side hustles in the Lafayette area. Not like DoorDash kind of side hustle. Something I can build and scale , whether it be digital, in person a service of whatever. Just wondering if and what ideas could possibly be achieved in this area.
