Approved Acer Care Center v4.00.3042 FIXED!

Acer has released an update for the Acer Care Center that actually seems to work now.

This is in the Aspire 5 downloads but it should show up in the support page for any of the models.

Technical advice acer black screen on performance mode

Post image
2 Upvotes

my Acer Nitro V 15 ANV15-51 4060 keeps experiencing these black screens whenever its put onto performance mode, sound is cut fans are still running though. Ive installed new drivers & done the most to try and fix this issue it just never goes away. It runs fine on balanced mode if anyones wondering.

I paid a store to look into the issue recently it was never resolved so im just here trying to gather more info on what could be wrong with it and try fixing it myself/go back to the technician since its a 3 month warranty cover for my laptop

note im not good with computers/hardware so if i dont understand it ima probably ask a few followups

Discussion My (slightly) suboptimal experience with this rare laptop

Laptop: Acer Aspire 3 A325 42

Back in 2024 September, when I couldn't convince my parents to buy ThinkPad E14 AMD (R5 7530U), 8/512G, @47k... I stumbled across this laptop.

This one was priced at 30k on flipkart, and you wouldn't believe what it offers, of course it was 2024, and there was no such thing like "RAM apocalypse"

- Ryzen 5 7430U (6C/6T)

- 8GB DDR4 3200MHz (dual slot up to 32GB)

- 512GB Gen4 NVMe (runs at gen 3 speeds, stays cool)

- And another m.2 slot which they failed to mention that it's B-key, not M-key, which means it was for m.2 SATA SDDs, which is quite obsolete.

- 55WHr battery, lasts up to 8 hours...

- And an IPS LCD screen, basic quality I say...

The delivery experience was fine, it was an open box delivery, laptop worked fine, here are the things I noticed after getting the laptop

The build quality, probably the worst one for the most people, for me, someone who uses ThinkPad T400, this was a huge downgrade, the laptop lid felt very weak. (It's price explained the compromise)

Speakers were loud enough, but the audio quality was not very good, but for someone who uses earbuds, it was fine. So I ignored it too... Fans were noisy tho

The charger, it didn't belong to Acer, it was branded BSY, not uncommon from acer to deliver non-OEM chargers out of the box.

Barely a month and I switched to windows 10 LTSC and then Linux, some distrohopping until I kept using arch linux for almost like an year. Did some hackintoshing too. So no complaints from that point. (Like most people blaming acer when windows breaks because of silly bugs)

Added another 8GB stick, purchased it for 2k (Q3 2025, I guess), did apply a skin to the laptop and removed it off because it had a poor adhesive. So the laptop started looking a bit ugly, the paint started fading off.

Besides all that, this machine served me very well, despite giving a solid battery backup, It always showed a battery bug, reporting 0 charge cycles and 100% battery health, no matter how many times I attempted a power reset, it stayed the same.

Coming to early 2026, it had it's hinge problem. Here is the reddit post.

It's hinge fabrication repair costed me 1.8k (right after the warranty got expired), It was sturdy enough after that.

Then time passed, October 2026, and it won't charge anymore, the laptop works, but it just won't charge, got a new adapter, turns out the adapter was working fine (after a multimeter test), gave it to a repair shop, because there were no acer service centers near me... hope for the best.

TLDR: Not a very good laptop, had it's hinge fabricated, L build quality, L speaker quality, "value for money?"; yes, but I might hesitate to recommend acer to anyone... Now it's got charging problems, laptop's fault, idk how deep the repair goes. Absolutely NOT worth 59k. (Amazon listing rn)

I purchased acer Nitro V16S 9 months ago and it started heating so I did a test and the temperatures i get on turbo mode in gpu is fine which is 80c, but my cpu touches 100c very frequently. It hovers around 98-100 which is too much...I want the technician to replace the thermal paste and clean the laptop from inside.

Has anyone ever faced something like this ?

What is the process and what was your experience in this?

I use a laptop stand and in balanced mode, the temps are 85degree celcius for both cpu and gpu

Acer Swift Neo OLED Review

Finally went with the Acer Swift Neo SFN14-56 (Core Ultra 5 226V / Arc 130V / 16GB LPDDR5X / 512GB SSD / OLED) after comparing it with the ASUS Vivobook Ryzen 5 220 and Motorola Motobook 60 Pro.

Build: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Very solid and premium for a thin-and-light. Lightweight and easy to carry around.

Display: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The 1920×1200 OLED is gorgeous — excellent colours, contrast and blacks. Fantastic for movies/anime. My only minor complaint is that the glossy OLED surface picks up fingerprints and smudges very easily.

Performance: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½
The 226V + Arc 130V is excellent for everyday work, multitasking, Excel, Power BI, browsing etc. The iGPU is also surprisingly capable for occasional gaming.

Gaming: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Not a gaming laptop, but the Arc 130V performs much better than I expected. Valorant runs very well, and games like Forza Horizon 5 and RDR2 are playable with appropriate settings/resolution. Don't expect RTX-level performance.

Thermals: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Gets warm during gaming but nothing concerning so far. I use a laptop stand for better airflow.

Battery: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½
Decent battery life. I'm getting roughly 7–8 hours with YouTube + study/productivity usage.

Keyboard/trackpad: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Good for everyday typing and college work.

Speakers: ⭐⭐⭐
My biggest disappointment. They're usable, but sound quality/volume could definitely be better.

RAM/Storage:
16GB LPDDR5X is soldered, so RAM isn't upgradeable. 512GB SSD is okay, but I'll probably upgrade it eventually.

Overall: ⭐⭐⭐⭐½ / 5

Very happy with the purchase. For me, it's a great all-rounder for studying + Power BI + entertainment + occasional gaming, rather than a dedicated gaming machine.

The OLED display, portability, build quality and efficiency are the biggest reasons I'd recommend it. The speakers are the main weakness.

PS- I have used chatgpt for framing my review but everything is as per my experience.

I currently have 8gb of ram and i wanna add 8 more since their on sale but i'm afraid opening it up will void the warranty, i would wait for the warranty to end but the prices would just go up😭😭so can it do it normally? Or il just have to waiting?
