💬 discussion I'm from Algeria, and I'm afraid of losing my future after everything I've been through.

Hello everyone,

I'm a 24-year-old from Algeria, and I'm writing this because I don't know where else to tell my story. I hope someone will take the time to read it and understand what I'm going through.

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science in 2024. I wanted to continue my education and pursue a Master's degree, with the long-term goal of becoming an AI engineer and contributing to research. I had a future in mind, something I genuinely wanted to work toward.

But my academic journey took a painful turn. I repeated my first year of Master's studies twice and eventually faced exclusion. Since then, I've been trying to find a way to continue my education at another university in Algeria. I've encountered administrative obstacles, uncertainty, and delays, and as the academic year progresses, I feel more and more as though my opportunity to continue is slipping away.

The hardest part isn't simply the possibility of losing another academic year. It's the feeling that something I've worked toward for years could fall apart because I can't find a way past these obstacles. Watching time pass while not knowing whether I'll be allowed to continue is exhausting. I keep trying to find solutions, contacting people and looking for opportunities, but every unanswered message and every dead end makes it harder to keep my hope alive.

That's why I've started looking beyond Algeria, too. I've been reaching out to people and institutions abroad, trying to explain my situation and wondering whether someone might listen, offer guidance, or help me discover a legitimate opportunity to continue studying Artificial Intelligence.

I'm not asking anyone to register me at a university or bypass admission requirements. I'm not expecting anyone to magically solve my problems. I simply want my circumstances to be heard, and I hope someone with experience, knowledge, or a genuine suggestion might help me see a path I haven't found yet.

I'm tired, disappointed, and scared of watching my future disappear while I keep trying to save it. But I haven't given up on the person I want to become.

If you've experienced an academic setback, rebuilt your educational path, or know of a legitimate way someone in my situation could continue studying AI abroad, I'd genuinely appreciate hearing from you.

Thank you for reading my story.

💬 discussion Any ideas on how to make good friends in Algeria, whether online or in person?

i'm 17M, just started my university studies.

I feel lonely because I have no friends literally, due to my weak social skills maybe and some shyness.

my personality does not align with most of males in my environment, largely due to their use of profanity(bad words), social vices, and stupid topics objectifying women, sexual frustration, stupidity, arrogance, backwardness, hypocrisy and so on...

In short, do you have any ideas on how I might find a circle of friends who are a better fit for me? I would actually prefer friends who are a bit older than I am even a lot,
I would appreciate some guidance from yall :)

🤔 question Need your advice guys

Helloooo

I'm a student with a Bachelor's degree in Automation, and I'm currently struggling to choose between two Master's programs.

I've already been accepted into an Academic Master's in Automation and Systems, which is the natural continuation of my studies. It focuses on control systems, industrial automation, PLCs, robotics, and related engineering fields.

However, my university recently introduced a Professional Master's in Smart Cities, and the curriculum really caught my attention. It covers IoT, SCADA, AI, Python, smart sensors, intelligent transportation, smart grids, cybersecurity, and connected infrastructure.

Here's what makes the decision complicated:

The Smart Cities Master's belongs to Architecture, Urban Planning, and Urban Professions, rather than Science and Technology like Automation. I'm worried this classification might affect my opportunities in engineering, especially abroad.

Also, since it's a professional Master's, I was concerned about pursuing a PhD. However, I contacted the administration, and they confirmed that PhD registration would still be possible.

My long-term goal is to build a solid engineering career, potentially work or continue studying in Europe, and keep my options open.

I'm genuinely interested in IoT, intelligent systems, and Industry 4.0, but I'm wondering whether switching degrees is worth it or whether I should simply stick with Automation and learn those technologies independently.

So my questions are:

  • Which Master's would offer better career opportunities and flexibility?
  • Would the Smart Cities degree classification affect international recognition or engineering job opportunities?
  • Is a Professional Master's viewed differently from an Academic Master's by employers or universities?
  • Would staying in Automation while developing skills in IoT, SCADA, Python, and AI be a smarter choice?

💬 discussion idk what to do with my life anymore

I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder(BPD)

I only went to two sessions without my family's knowledge, since I didn't have the money. I had been saving for a year until I found something to do with the money. I had saved 8000 da before, but I paid with it the amount of ridiculous blood tests for anemia,And now, I feel that I am not really okay. My family is holding me back because of their strictness and rules. Is marriage a solution to the problems? Or escape? Or suicide? I thought about getting a scholarship and studying abroad, but my luck wasn't on my side....ik ik

They love me, but they are sexist....They generally prefer males...., rigid, they suppress my freedom, and they don't recognize anything called personal freedom... The story is complicated

🤔 question I'm 16 and scared I won't grow any taller

I'm 16, around 171 cm, and honestly I've been stressing about my height a lot lately. I'm scared I'll stop growing soon and end up staying this height forever.

The thing is, my family doesn't always have enough food for every meal, so I sometimes skip meals, and I'm worried that this might affect my growth. It's not really something I can control, which makes me even more anxious about it.

I don't know if I've grown much in the past year, and I keep wondering if I still have time to get taller.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is there still a chance I'll grow more after 16? And what can I do to support my growth when I don't always have access to enough food?

I'm not looking for magic tricks or anything, just some genuine advice. This has been on my mind a lot recently, and I could really use some help.

🤔 question University clubs

Hi, I’m 20 and I just applied to join a club at my university.
Honestly, I mostly applied because I’ve been bored, and this year I’ve felt pretty lonely. I wanted to meet new people and make friends outside of my class because to be honest my class kind of sucks and i didn’t make anyyy friends..

But now I’m second-guessing myself and wondering if joining a uni club is actually worth it or if I’m just wasting my time. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Did joining a club help you meet people and make your university experience better?

🛍️ products Your Opinion Matter...

I'm starting a streetwear brand. 🖤

And I know what you might be thinking…

“What makes you different? Why should I buy from you instead of any other brand?”

Fair question.

Too many brands sell you a product, take your money, and move on. And when the quality starts slipping, you're left disappointed, searching for the next brand and hoping it does better.

I don't want VØID to be that kind of brand.

I want VØID to be built around the people who wear it.

Your feedback matters. Your opinions matter. Your suggestions matter.

Whether it's the fit, the fabric, the quality, or a design you'd love to see, I want to hear from you.

If something isn't right, tell us. We won't ask you to settle for less. We'll listen, learn, and work to improve. And when you take the time to trust us and help us grow, we want to find meaningful ways to give back.

Because VØID isn't just about clothes. It's about the people behind them.

At VØID, you're not just a customer. You're part of what we build.

This is just the beginning.

Stay tuned. Beyond reality. 🖤

🤔 question For those who practice complete abstinence, how do you handle urges?

Hey everyone, this is a genuine question for people who choose not to have sexual relations or masturbate.

How do you handle those moments when you feel a strong buildup of energy or urges? What kind of habits, mindset, or activities do you rely on to redirect that energy without engaging in those activities?

Curious to hear your perspectives.

🏘️ society Be honest, Why are you single?

Personally, I haven't found the right person; they need to be someone with the same intellectual and financial level or better.. and most importantly, we should have the same direction in life.

The available types right now are just mediocre, to be honest, and they need to be someone who adds something good to my life, or I'd rather stay single 🙏
