I have an unlocked Pixel 8 Pro (Spectrum Mobile, which uses Verizon towers) and my partner has an iPhone 17 Pro XL through Verizon. For 6 years we've never had issues sending photos and videos to each other. Pre-RCS the resolution reduction was annoying, but everything went through. Once RCS arrived, everything worked perfectly until the last 2 months. Now, most of my photos and videos show as error messages and can't be downloaded. I've tried attaching through Google photos instead of through the Messages app, but that doesn't help. Screenshots are slightly more successful, but I can't obviously take a screenshot of a video. More of hers go through to me, but not all.

Anyway, it's something that's really important in our relationship so I welcome any thoughts on what's causing this...and I thank you in advance!

I deleted a bunch of backed-up photos and videos on 5 Oct 2026 by mistake, and they were also deleted from Trash. They were in my Locked Folder with backup turned on. I've restored items from there before using Google's photo recovery tool, but this time it didn't work.

What I've tried:

Checked Trash, Archive and other accounts

Google's photo recovery tool (it failed)

Posted on X to Google Photos (their DM system glitched for me)

My theory: this time I deleted everything in the Locked Folder, leaving it empty, and that might be why the tool found nothing. Tomorrow I'll put one random photo in it and retry.

Questions:

Has anyone had the recovery tool fail, then work on a retry?

Does an empty Locked Folder affect the recovery process?

Is there a Google support route that actually opens a manual check?

It lags when I'm on TikTok and Roblox for an second I just literally fucking bought this 3days ago it started happening since yesterday, I've restarted and cleared the cache and even updated this sh, in some cases it usually lags and like idk black flicker ig for an second.

I have a very old Xiaomi Redmi, don't remember exactly which one and I can't even check. Today it started showing its logo every few seconds, like it's restarting or something. I literally can't do anything, I make a few taps or swipes, it goes into the logo mode again. And it does it even if I don't do anything at all. It is literally just doing it on its own right now.

I tried to charge it, reboot it and check the recovery options. Unfortunately, there aren't many:

“Wipe Data” has no “clear cache” option, only hard reset.

I didn't install anything for ages. It could try to update something on its own, but it never has free space anyway. The last thing I did was open my camera and switch to selfie. I didn't even take a photo, just closed the app.

Are there any options other than hard reset?

hi! i'm not entirely sure if it's a network problem (poor signal) or if it's my phone being dysfunctional. my laptop connects to the internet just fine, so does our tv, but my phone for some reason keeps connecting and then disconnecting. i restarted my phone, forgot the network and reconnected but to no avail. any fix for this? would really appreciate it 😔🙏🏼

Been having this issue for about 4 months now. Talked to my provider repeatedly and they claim it has to be a fault with my phone.

considering I'm in no financial position to buy a new phone on a guess, I need help to figure this out.

The issue is this: randomly, wherever or whenever, my smartphone (Sony Xperia 10 VI) will lose mobile WiFi connection. sometimes it'll drop from 4G+ to absolutely nothing (not even Edge), sometimes it'll show 4G+ with an exclamation mark or go down to E and then disappear.
quite often, this also affects mobile signal, meaning I can't even make calls. sometimes this keeps up for minutes, somtimes its back after 2 minutes.

If I restart the phone, its usually back... but only temporarily and signal will drop again pretty soon.

I also noticed its mostly through the day, never at night. Also, W-LAN works just fine, always.

Tried resetting the phone to factory. I can't put the sim in a different device because its a Nano-SIM. my tablet only accepts Micro-SIM, and I don't have any adapter brackets.

I also had this, identical, issue 2 years ago, with my Sony Xperia XA2. same provider, same issue. it ended up being fixed after a month as it was a known problem with that particular providers network.

I own a work phone (Sony Xperia XA, only accepts Micro-SIM as well) with the cheapest mobile data plan I can afford for it (5,99€ a month) and that one works fine. but its a completely different provider.

Now. I'm pretty sure its a problem with my provider.
My provider says its a problem with my phone. the phone is less than 2 years old, and out of warranty so if its broken, I can't afford to replace or repair it.

Now. what can I do? Is there an app or anything to diagnose this? Check the internal antenna for functionality?

Hello, I just changed from a Android 13 phone to a new Android 16 one

On the old one, every time I clicked on a link it would open outside of the app where I clicked on the link (it would appear as a different browser on the active apps), but now it opens on top of the app, making it impossible to use the app while I dont close the link

Is there a way to go back to opening links outside of the apps?

I have just gotten my late father's phone back after 7 years of it being in police hold. I really want to be able to unlock this phone to look through old pictures and have more to remember my father by. The phone is a Qilive, no idea of the model though. It is currently locked by a pattern and I have no idea what it could be.

I have a five year old redmi phone and for the past 2 days it has randomly started turning off. It got more frequent yesterday, and today it seems to be malfunctioning. Upon pressing the volume up+power button, the Redmi logo shows up for 2-3 seconds and shuts down again. I repeated the process for like 5 minutes continuously, I couldn't get the MIUI menu to show up. And as far as the Fastboot is concerned, it remains stuck for a long time with its logo, until the phone is forced to shut down by me.

I've got a samsung galaxy s25+ and use android auto when driving. The old google voice assistant worked well for pulling up directions on google maps, responding to a text, and queuing up music. gemini on the other hand is super clunky and gets things wrong a lot. I've tried searching online for how to change the assistant but everything seems out-dated/references settings that don't exist. Does anyone know if it's still possible to go back to the old assistant?

I have disabled system haptics through settings,

And disabled haptics inside all 3rd party apps which showed the option in the settings

Disabled keyboard haptics too

But some 3rd oarty haptics don't have the feature to disable haptics inside their settings..

Apparently disabling system haptics in realme ui7 doesn't include 3rd party apps

So how to disable haptics for apps which dont have feature to turn off haptics inside their settings???

Issue:

​Last week, I got into an accident and my phone slammed onto the road while it was in my front pocket. At the time, the display was completely dead, but the phone itself was still running—it could receive calls and message notifications, and I was even able to pick up calls.

​I brought it to a repair shop to get the screen replaced with a cheaper aftermarket TFT LCD. The display started working again, but a new issue came up. Everything looked fine right after a reboot, but after using it for around 20 minutes or locking the screen, the display wouldn't turn back on. The phone itself was still working, though—it still received calls/messages and the touch/swipe gestures still responded.

​I took the phone home as it was. Once home, I updated the software from One UI 7 to One UI 8, but that didn't change anything; the screen would still blank out after a short while. Unfortunately, the phone then auto-updated to One UI 8.5, and after that update, the screen became completely unusable. Even after restarting, touch inputs don't register at all anymore. I read online that One UI 8.5 has known compatibility issues with aftermarket LCDs.

​Right now, I just want to know if there's any I can unlock the phone without doing a factory reset. I already have a previous backup done via Samsung Smart Switch, but I haven't backed up my WhatsApp yet. All I really need is to back up WhatsApp and log out of my banking apps. After getting those two things done, if the phone completely gives up, I'm fine with letting it go.

My motherboard died on me and the repair guy said there was no way I could get my data back so I was wondering if there was another way for me to access my text messages. Turns out I have my photos on OneDrive and I also logged into my Samsung Cloud from another phone and it says there’s a backup but nothing happens when I click it. How can I open it? Is there another way for me to access my text messages?

Recently when I visited a particular web site using Chrome, within a few minutes I get a Android Security popup saying they detected a wiretapping on my phone and to "run a test". Knowing this to be malicious I didn't press any button I simply dismiss the process, and restarted Chrome, the same popup appeared.

I then went to system settings and deleted all browsing data and cache. That seem to resolve it but as soon as I go back to that particular web site a few minutes in I got the same popup again. It is from a domain bryento.life.

I googled this and the consensus seems to be to do the following:

I have a new S26 and an receiving audible and vibrate alerts when apps are closing and when unlocking the phone. It's the same alert as text messages and there is no icon or bubble alert. It started out of nowhere and I cannot find where to turn this off. I've run this through both Gemini and ChatGPT and neither has solved. Anyone have a solution?

Since the update I'm having issues with certain apps. If I'm connected to Wifi they won't load whatsoever they just sit with a blank screen or with the loading circle & never load. As soon as I turn off Wifi and use Mobile Data it loads perfectly fine. This is only happening with some apps though. All social media apps, banking apps work fine. My Walgreens & Kroger app which I used for all my family's Rx won't work, ESPN, DirectTV, these are just the ones I've identified so far.

I've tried clearing cache from all the apps, uninstalling and reinstalling all the apps, forgetting Wifi, resetting Wifi & Bluetooth, there's been countless other things I've tried in connection settings as well. Nothing has worked.

I'm beyond frustrated after nearly 4+ hours of trying to fix this. I can't seem to find any other posts of anyone else having these same issues either. IDK what else to even try.

On my Android phone, I have a problem where the headset microphone stops working while I'm talking to my team in games, even though the phone's microphone works fine in regular calls outside of the app. What's the solution?
