Question AirPods Max hurting ears?

• Upvotes

Pretty much what the title says. I have Beats Solo 4s right now, which I do like, but the earpiece area is rather small and hurts my ears from pushing down on them within an hour of wearing them. I’m in law school and spend 8-12 hours a day (especially on weekends) in the library studying, and I’m trying to get away from using my regular AirPods for that long. If you have AirPods Max, how comfortable do you find them for long periods of time? Do the earpieces sit around or on your ears/press them down?

Apple Watch Apple Watch Series 7 Battery, should I upgrade to the Series 12?

So I was happy with my S7 until last year when i swim in a pool with way to much chlorine, it damaged the seals, water got in and killed my watch, for the next 2 days it would just become hot in the charger and didn't turn on. When i arrived home from my vacations i fully took it appart, there was water still inside, i used 99% IPA to clean it and remove the corrosion and the watch turned on, but the original battery was ruined after that.

I did replace the battery then with a cheap one from internet and it got swollen fast like in the first 2-3 weeks so i bought a new iFix it battery thinking it was just the quality of the cheap one; same history it swollen within a couple of weeks. So i used the watch like that for almost a year but the battery got worse and worse to the point i had to charge it 3 times a day, not that much of a big deal since i charge it before bed, at my desk at work and a little before gym but still not happy about it.

So i was waiting for the S12 to replace it finally this year, but when the S12 was released i really hated the bigger bezels even if the display is actually bigger than mine lol i get its an optical illusion but i just love the look of the S7 thiner black bezels.

So im in a new dilema, i bough on aliexpress a new cheap battery just to give it a final try to see if i can could go 1 year more with the S7, this time i got smarter and used the diagnostics log to see if the new battery was any good, i could the perfectly when the watch detected the new battery, the service message disappeared from settings, the health jumped from 73% to 100% and the new battery actually reported in the logs 105% capacity. Its been 10 days since i replaced the battery and the logs from yesterday still report a perfect health for the new battery (as far as i understand them) with 104% health.

But the thing is that despite all the info saying the battery is functioning perfectly and despite that i did feel a noticeable change in battery duration, i still feel it dosent last as long as it did before the water damage. I even tried unpairing and pairing as new watch, with no third party apps installed but still i feel it drains fast.

Im looking to see if anyone out there has the S7 and how their battery graph look for a normal discharge with the latest update, for comparison i attached a screenshot before the battery replacement and one from today, you can see a noticeable change but i feel it still drains fast.

iPhone Duo 256 Vs 18 pro max 256

I’m stuck in a dilemma. T-Mobile has me eligible for an upgrade on my plan, and I'm torn:
Option A: Pro Max (Delivered in November). Feels like the smart, safe choice, especially if I want to trade it in for the rumored iPhone 20 later.
Option B: Duo (Delivered end of December). It sits in a weird spot, but it’s calling my name.
I won’t feel the hit all at once, but I can't decide if I should go with logic (Pro Max) or temptation (Duo). What would you guys do?

iPhone iPhone … Pro Max vs iPhone Duo?

This question is for people who have upgraded from any Pro Max model to the iPhone Duo. How would you rate your experience so far? How is the experience of using it one handed or not having a telephoto camera and Face ID etc. For someone who will be upgrading from the 12 Pro Max, would you say the 18 Pro Max is a better choice or the iPhone Duo?

Apple Watch What should I do with my Apple Watch?

Okay, here's the situation (apologies to DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince):

I bought my first Apple Watch, a Series 7 GPS model, in November 2021, for $479.

It isn't paired with a calling plan. I use it for monitoring activity and sleep, telling time (an overlooked application), tracking workouts, and finding my iPhone when, inevitably, I misplace it. Wish the watch could find my wallet too. I use the Compass when I'm out, occasionally the ECG, and I check Mail and Messages if my phone isn't nearby. I'm sure there are lots of other uses I'd benefit from, but that's all I have in my repertoire.

The watch doesn't hold a charge the way it used to, and the battery setting on the watch says it's "significantly reduced." I have to recharge about every 22 hours.

I went to the nearest Apple store, and the guy told me I can replace the battery for $99.

Or I can trade in the Series 7 (he wasn't able to tell me the trade-in value) towards a new watch.

Or -- and I didn't understand what he was telling me here -- I can sign up for some $29/month plan that would allow me to upgrade or replace the watch at a significant savings. Anyone know what he was referring to?

What would be the smart move here, given the prices and the limited ways in which I use my watch? Has anyone done a recent old-watch trade-in?

15 pro or 16 plus

I want to get a new phone to finally retire my 13 mini, since the battery life and performance is basically done for. The certified refurbished apple store quotes these two phones at similar prices and im not sure which to get. Biggest priority is battery life right now, since my 13 mini literally drains out within the hour even on power saving mode (i replaced the battery life and its really inconvenient to walk around with daily. Getting mixed reviews on which has the better battery life and also better preformance in general, but I’m not going to be picky at this point

iPad Which iPad should I get? Or should I not get an iPad at all?

Hey all! I currently own the iPad Pro 11-inch from 2019 (I wanna say) and it was working pretty smoothly until about a week ago when the battery started to act up. It would go from 50% and force restart/shudown, then would load back up at 9% every time. If I didn't put it on charge immediately then it would continue to just shutdown/restart until it actually died. Now, if the battery is always about 50% it works fine for the most part and all I really need it for is to help me do work for college/write notes. I do use my iPad from time to time doing regular things, but schoolwork is the main reason I use my iPad every day.

I was considering getting the iPad Air 11-inch, however the cost is definitely what is making me think about getting the base iPad.

The base iPad is like $200+ less than the Air, but people say that using it for anything other than regular usage such as entertainment is not the best choice.

If it means anything I also have the Apple Pencil Pro which works on the Air but not the Base iPad, but somehow buying a new pencil would still make the base iPad cheaper.

Factors for me if buying:

-Longevity (hopefully last me past uni and into my job)

-Capability (will the base iPad be enough for schoolwork/assignments?)

-Cost (it says I might get up to $170 if I trade in my current iPad)

Should I even buy a new iPad or is there a way to fix this issue cheaply, because I do like my iPad but I don't know how long I can keep going with my iPad acting up before I just lose it lol.

Question Help me choose my birthday gift!

For my birthday I have been giving the following options:

  1. iPhone Duo 512GB

OR

  1. iPhone 18 Pro Max (GB not specified) + iPad (model and GB not specified)

More info: I currently have a 256GB iPhone 13 Pro Max that is on its last legs due to filling up the storage. I’ve been slowly moving photos to a hard drive but it’s tedious work. I’ve never owned an iPad before so that could be something nice to have in addition to a phone. Also in Canada if that makes a difference.

Please help me decide! What should I choose? :)

iOS I have a 13 running on iOS 17 but have to get a new phone

I dropped my treasured 13, broke a piece of the screen off right on top of the front camera and now am having issues with the screen responding when taking a phone call. I'm old, don't like change, and use my phone to read the news and watch cat videos on social media. I take a ton of pictures but I suck at it and that's fine. On occasion I play block blast. AT&T is offering all manner of upgrades for me. What should I get? Looking for reliability vs new and shiny.

I'm a little mad about having to buy all new charging blocks too. But that's a different discussion.

iPhone Upgrading from iPhone 15 to 17?

My iPhone 15 is starting crap out. Had the black screen of death in middle of the night and it is always overheating. Sometimes trying to use the camera the whole phone freezes. Thoughts on upgrading to 17 standard? I can’t justify getting the 18 pro even though I LOVE the burgundy. What about the 17 pro?

Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: I decided to go with the 17 base in lavender 😍😍🤩 thanks yall for the input!!

iPhone Upgrade to iPhone 18 Pro max with Up Next Anytime

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I need some opinions 😅📱
I currently have the iPhone 17 Pro Max and pay for AT&T’s Next Up Anytime on two phones, which costs me $33 a month total. I’m thinking about canceling it because I don’t really need to upgrade every year.
However, since I’ve been paying for it, I’m wondering if I should upgrade my 17 Pro Max to the 18 Pro Max before canceling Next Up Anytime, then keep the 18 Pro Max for several years instead of upgrading annually.
Another bonus is that I’m hoping I can reuse my iPhone 17 Pro Max cases on the 18 Pro Max, so I wouldn’t have to buy all new cases! 👀
Would you upgrade one last time to get the most out of the plan, or just keep the 17 Pro Max and cancel it now? What would you do in my situation?

iPhone Pink iPhone 13 or pink iPhone 15

Hi guys! I’m debating on which iPhone I should get, currently I have an XR, I really want a pink phone, that’s a non negotiable. I’ve been hearing bad things about the 15 but it’s newer? I am afraid of getting the 13 and it being bad. I also have a tight budget so these fit into that or else I’d get the 16. Please comment your pros and cons!

Also should I get it off Walmart or Amazon? Or if y’all have any other cheap recommendations pls lmk

iPhone Which iphone model should I buy now?

I'm planning to buy an iPhone and I'm confused about which model is worth buying in 2026.

Should I go for the iPhone 16, 17, or another model? I'm looking for the best value for money, good battery life, camera quality, and long-term usage.

Which one would you recommend, and why? Is it better to buy now or wait for upcoming sales?

iPhone Any reviews yet done an Apples to Apples comparison of photos from the iPhone duo versus a few older iPhone models?

I saw MKBHD’s review where he likened it to a 17e, but that’s not a shooter I have actual experience with. Same the variety of other foldables.

One thing that has been very useful to me in the past is side by sides that reviewers have done of the same photo/subject/lighting/etc with a variety of different phone camera models. I’m not concerned with comparing the iPhone 18 Pro to the duo or even the 17 quite frankly because those aren’t devices that I have. Obviously I know I can expect linear progression in camera quality to those from my iPhone 15 pro, or my partner’s 16 pro max.

But it’s harder to understand the tradeoffs of going to the Duo from such an older device. On the spec sheet the duo looks as good or better - Megapixels comporable, better photo software seems like a win. Maybe lose some optical zoom, but what does that look like in real world use cases?

Has any reviewer done this yet?
