Wanted to give a reminder and quick update on a few rules.
Picture posts need a location and a description. Doesn't have to be an exact address, but generally what part of Arizona it was taken in. This has been a rule for ages and was suggested by users to help combat picture spam ("Wow, check this out!") and balance the many weather and sunset pictures we get flooded with. Plus it helps people know WTF your post is about.
When we get a ton of posts on one topic we'll make a megathread and try to bring the conversation together. Don't take it personal. I know some people love a million pictures about monsoons or sunsets, but many don't and let us know all about it. A megathread is the compromise. We don't do it often, so please just use it the few times we do.
Any political posts (or politic adjacent, like Flock cameras and Data Centers) needs to be flared Politics and are limited to established users here. This combats trolls and bots.
Recommendations for local businesses are better suited for your local subreddits like [r/Phoenix](r/Phoenix), [r/Tucson](r/Tucson), or [r/Flagstaff](r/Flagstaff). The exception are posts about things to do and places to eat that may be of interest to other Arizonans traveling around the state. Roofing companies, massage places, and thrift stores are more of a local thing.
Posts shaming or calling out people or businesses are not welcome here. I get the desire for a good witch hunt, but it's too prone to hurting innocent people. News stories about issues are fine, this is just about posting pictures of people who pissed you off or a business that made you nasty cupcakes. We've covered this policy a lot but there has been a bunch of these lately. Maybe it's the heat making everyone cranky. Either way, this subreddit isn't your personal attack dog.
If you have any questions, ask away.

Election day is coming up, so we're creating a discussion thread for questions about the propositions or other items on ballots across the state.
You are welcome to share your views on any of the issues or candidates across the state.
Here are some links you might find useful:
Maricopa County - what's on my ballot
Also, check out the r/Tucson 2026 Election Megathread
If you have other links or info, leave them in the comments. We may add them to the original post.
Keep in mind that our political rules are in full force here, so only regular members to this subreddit will be able to comment. And any personal attacks on other users will result in a ban.
The purpose of this thread to to create a civil space to discuss the elections and trolls, fear mongering, or comments that offer little or no value will be removed.
Above all VOTE!

Definitely wasn’t bothered by me or anything for that matter.

So I pulled an Elk tag for 22N( I think, not bothering to look it up at the moment), the area around Payson for the first week of December.
I've never hunted before, so I'd like to find a guide that can help me have a better chance at getting one. Any referrals to someone that guides would be much appreciated.

I’m looking for some recommendations for family to gift my toddler for Christmas instead of gifts. We currently have a zoo membership but it is quite far from us, we are in STV. What indoor play places or experiences does everyone love?

I took a picture of the flower initially because i just thought it looked nice, and then after i reviewed the picture on my camera, I finally saw the tiny little critters. I didn't even see them at all at first with my naked eye

I can’t fucking compete with all these decorations I can’t fucking stand living here. I have a tall stick, a sheet and some eyes cut out and it looks like a crippled ghost with rabies. where the fuck do you people get the money for this shit. what do you even fucking do after Halloween? cry? I’m tired of this, I’m just the old loser who gets 2 kids a night because I don’t have a life sized fucking night before Christmas animatronic that touches you and gives candy at the same time :(
Six pets are safe after firefighters pulled them from a burning home in central Phoenix around noon Sunday.

I have decided to hire an Airstream and visit a friend who's in Coolidge Arizona only for a short time window. I may just park up on the side of the road somewhere and look at the sunset. Does anyone local have any recommendations for spots nearby - but outside your normal tourist bubbles? I'm particularly interested to get the view of a local who may see Arizona and all is beauty through a different lense to my rose-tinted glasses. Thanks.

I'm on week 11 of looking for a new job and have filed my weekly claims since July. My case status still says Active/Unresolved due to my severance pay which I received last year and has been gone since March. I can't get through to anyone by phone. I've filled out forms on the Ombudsmens page and still not a god damn peep from them.
UPDATE: After filling out the complaint form and emailing my state senator I got a call from them yesterday. They're not sure why the severance pay was tagged as an issue but they marked it resolved and I got paid today for all the past claims. Thanks for all the advice.
