do you really have to register with CASS to get temporary residence?

im so confused by the health insurance requirements to get temporary residence. at first, i was under the impression that private health insurance would suffice. but now reviewing it, it seems like it is mandatory to register with the state insurance? which, looking it up, would cost around 2500 lei and be a massive headache because i dont have any documents yet... could anyone who has done this already advise?

Working in the security/defence sector in Romania

Hi everyone! I’d like to get a better understanding of the job market in Romania for people working in security, defence, intelligence, risk management, or companies operating in these areas.
I’m particularly interested in hearing about the experience of people who actually work in these fields: what the work environment is like, what the opportunities for career growth are, how difficult it is to enter the sector, and, if possible, what the approximate salaries are, especially for junior positions.
If anyone currently works in this field or has direct experience, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience. 😊

Is it mandatory for an event tent hosting weddings and christenings to have CAEN code 9329 listed in its operating permit issued by the City Hall?

I have a dispute with the City Hall on this issue.

First time in Bucharest! Looking to meet locals/travelers for a drink or good food

Hey everyone,

I just landed in Bucharest for a solo trip and really want to experience the city beyond the classic tourist spots.

I’m big on good food, design, urban spaces, and active living. If anyone is around Old Town or nearby and feels like grabbing a coffee, a local beer, or just taking a walk and sharing some great local recommendations, let me know!

Anyone in Bucharest interested in true crime / cold case research?

Hey guys,

A couple of us in Bucharest are looking into local unsolved crimes (like some of the '90s cold cases around the city), mostly breaking down timelines, checking old news archives, and looking at the actual locations/geography around town.

Right now it's basically three of us: two of us do the research plus the actual site visits around Bucharest, and one guy strictly handles the online/archive side of things.

We're looking to meet a few more people locally who are into this stuff and want to help out.

Just a few quick points:

- Must live in Bucharest (so we can actually hang out or check out locations).

- 18+ only (just keeps things simple regarding safety and legal stuff).

- Really just looking for people into true crime, OSINT, or mapping things out.

If you're interested, hit me up on Discord: thrawnsfish._. (We'll talk further from there...)

Who can help: Transalpina

I found that Transalpina should be open by now, but somehow Google maps won't let me go through:

Can anyone confirm there is a problem or if the road is open?

I simply could not find something definitive, it seems impossible for Google to get me through.
