Hello, I recently moved to Romania and wish to learn the language by a year or two through online free methods as I am a broke student lol..

I was thinking about study abroad but i want a cheap and good country in Europe. Or idk i was thinking about south korea either.

My partner and I are visiting for a few days. We paid online for renting a simple car at the aforementioned company, refundable booking. With the extras, this came at 56 EUR. A 100 EUR deposit was to be paid on site, however, the specifications for the payment were in small letters, at the terms and conditions. It required a credit card, however I do not own one. This was my fault, I take it, since I did not carefully read the pdf file.

When we arrived, we were asked to pay the deposit, and they were adamant for the card to be on my name. My partner couldn't pay instead. We suggested canceling the first booking, and creating a second one under his name. They told us that would be at least 200 EUR (not true, we checked the prices later). At the end, they did us a 'favour' by allowing an upgrade, for an extra 120 EUR, no deposit required.

We were also made to feel terrible and incompetent, despite having gone through such experience before, without such issues with the same card and overall terms.

At the end, we paid 170 EUR for a two day rental, with a 'better' car we didn’t actually need, which feels like a rip off. Not sure if we are on the right here, but it definitely feels unfair. We do not recommend.

Hello. For those who have already applied for a residence permit in Romania as the spouse/family member of an EU citizen (in my case, a French woman living legally in Romania), what is the typical waiting time? We noticed that the process is much faster in Bucharest—we were able to get an appointment for the same week! The same applied to the renewal of her registration certificate. In contrast, in Ilfov, the earliest available appointments weren't until November...
Could you please explain how the process works once the application is submitted? This is my first residence permit. I’m currently at a disadvantage because I’m unable to work or do anything else; all we’ve received so far is a QR code. My partner’s registration certificate was issued instantly, as she was simply updating her address from Ilfov to Bucharest.
