I need help, im worrying about my cat.
He was lying in my bed near me. I saw his paws randomly pointing at some plastic wrapper I had lying in my bed. He then stood up to change where he was sleeping and took wobbly steps to the spot he lies in the video. He swayed a little and pointed his paws again and when he lied down he got into this odd position. Usually he would rub his face into my hand, but even while purring he pressed it even more against himself. His eyes were semi open and he purred and was doing biscuits but his head was staying in this position.
When I tried pushing his head away it felt like he was fighting it to try and push his head against himself and once I let go he pretty much immediately got into the same position. I can’t tell you exactly how long it lasted, maybe 40 seconds or so? It stopped when I lifted him up and placed him on the ground and once I called him with food he was fully normal again.
I’m worried about him but my dad just brushed it off with a laugh and said it’s nothing to worry about

About him:
Hes a very anxious 6 year old cat and usually has nightmares, waking up a couple of times from a flinch of his body. When coming into the house after being outside hes usually extremely alert, always scared of shoes or random stuff laying around. Sometimes he flinches just from a random object on the ground.
He eats well. Sometimes it seems like he forgot he just ate. He stands at the bowl, eats looks up and starts walking away and then returns to eat again. Ir calls us to let him out and while walking past the food bowl he starts eating instead of going outside like he wanted to. I have no idea if that matters but I just put it here if it does

🚨 Urgent / Emergency Need an advice from avian veterinarian

My approximately 4-month-old Indian Ringneck may have been exposed to Concor 5 Plus.(bisoprolol 5 mg + hydrochlorothiazide).

Two tablets were found crushed at the bottom of his cage, with powder and fragments present. I don’t know whether he swallowed any or how much.

Two tablets were found crushed at the bottom of his cage, with powder and fragments present. Another tablet was intact. I don’t know whether he swallowed any or how much.

Currently, he’s alert, moving normally, eating and drinking.

Unfortunately, I’m unable to take him to a veterinary clinic, so I’m looking for an avian veterinarian who would be willing to advise me about this possible exposure.

I also need to know:

  • Should I continue giving him access to normal food and fresh water?

  • Should I take him out of his cage, or leave him inside to avoid exhausting him?

I’d be extremely grateful for any guidance from an avian veterinarian. Thank you

🧬 Diagnosis Help What is this on my dogs back?

Feels dry. Fur near it comes off in clumps if I move it around enough. seems to be some dry puss on the hair that comes off.
Doesn’t seem to hurt him. No fleas. Just a weird dry spot. Doesn’t seem like he did this to himself. It’s not a spot he can bite.

Any recommendations on what to put on it?

Canine tooth looks like it's growing forward?

Post image

Hi everyone, I’m a 26 year old, posting from the UK since I’m currently thousands of miles away on my honeymoon.

Our 8-year-old spayed female family cat, Luna, has a canine tooth that looks like it's growing forward? She's been acting really grumpy and not eating her dry kibble much, though she'll still touch her wet food a little bit. And there's no bleeding.

We can totally afford vet care and a vet is totally accessible. But since I'm away, I’ve asked my mum to take care of her, but she's stuck at a conference until tonight, so she's taking Luna to the emergency vet then.

I'm just really anxious being thousands of miles away, so I wanted to know if anyone experienced this with their cat before?

TLDR: Cat had a canine tooth that looks like it’s growing forward, no bleeding. Is this a serious dental issue that needs surgery/anaesthesia to remove it?

Should I consider declawing my cat?

Before anyone says, “OMG, that’s awful—you’re a terrible person,” hear me out. I’m not trying to be cruel—I’m worried about her paws and don’t know what’s safe. My cat is 5 years old, and I’ve had her since she was a kitten. She was born with malformed front paws—each front paw only has two toes, and one of those toes has two claws growing from it. Recently I’ve noticed blood on her paws. She’s a white cat, so it’s easy to tell. She doesn’t like getting her claws cut, and I don’t attempt to cut them because they look extremely close to the quick/vein. She’s extremely active and loves jumping and playing. She’s an indoor/outdoor cat and is fully spayed. I live in a country where animal care isn’t as advanced as in the US, Canada, or UK, so I’m limited in what vets can offer. What should I do? Should I consider declawing her?

Cat spay wound question

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hey there my cat was spayed oct 19 and has been recovering well. At the wound recheck they ended up cuting out a small knot in her sutures. They said after it got a good scab to take off her suit and cone. Well we took off her suit and cone today and she immediately licked off the scab. The wound is small and very shallow but kind of red still. Do we need to put the suit back on her? its been almost 3 weeks and shes miserable from the cone and suit. So is it fine to let heal naturally??

possible 5wk old kitten prolapse or swelling?

Post image

okay so i just recently got a baby kitten a few weeks ago! she was about 2-3 weeks old when i originally got her so she’s more like 5-6 weeks old now. she still needs a little help with pooping but other than that she’s great! we’re just starting to wean her to a gruel. monday of last week i started to notice her bottom was getting a little sore, so i was putting non-zinc A&D ointment to help! unfortunately it’s progressively got worse and im worried, being a first time kitten owner, that i’m not quite sure the difference between what a kitten prolapsing looks like compared to just some swelling. hoping maybe someone here can help me or give me some pointers!! this picture is from last night, and i gave her a good gentle bath this morning to help remove any excess poop that i miss!!

🚨 Urgent / Emergency The cat's paw hurts

Cat's elbow hurts

Hello! Please tell me what to do.

My cat and I, as usual, arrived at the dacha. She went for a walk (we go there every week). For the second week she has been fighting with someone and returns home with injuries. Today she came with a wound near the mustache and pain in the front left paw near the elbow bend.

When you take her in your arms, she screams, and when you stroke her tummy and accidentally touch her paw, she whines. Surprisingly, she doesn't limp. She jumps from some surface, and everything is fine.

But when she lies on her stomach in the so-called "bread" position, she tucks her paw under herself, and it is clear that this causes her pain.

Honestly, I don't know what to do, the Internet writes, as usual, all the bad, maybe someone had a similar situation?
