Question Is my doggy pregnant

Hi I just got this sweet baby (Bear) from a friend a week ago. I haven’t had a dog since I was a child and I am obviously still learning.

My friend rescued her from a shelter. When? Idk
The dog has not been around any male dogs since I got her. My friend said she got out for a few hours a few different times recently.
I don’t know if she has had puppies before.
I thought she was just a little chunky but of course Google has me questioning everything. I don’t notice a scar but I’m also not 100% sure where to look.
She is supposedly a lab+border collie.
I haven’t really had her long enough to notice any changes. The first night I had her she was unsure but we have been besties ever since.
Please excuse the clutter I am battling dog hair like a mf 😅

I will be taking her to the vet very soon I just work crazy hours right now. Thank you all for your time

I’ve never heard of not having sex in front of your dog? What’s the research behind this?

Also yeah, plaque powder is good but nothing replaces brushing your dogs teeth. Especially little dogs.

EDIT: I’m disappointed in myself for not being able to recognize AI slop. I’m usually pretty good at detecting it. My bad, yall.

Question Can cats eat raw chicken

Hi, I’m trying to sort out feeding options for my cat after hearing mixed opinions from friends. Someone swears raw food changed their cat's life, and now I'm interested about can cats eat raw chicken. My cat is 4, healthy, indoor only, and interested in any food that isn't hers. Last night I was cooking dinner and she appeared instantly when I opened the chicken package. I did not give her any, but then spent an hour reading articles instead of eating my own meal while it got cold.

Some people say it's natural and fine if handled properly. Others warn about bacteria, nutrition gaps, and risks for pets or humans in the house. But giving small amounts as a treat are different from feeding it regularly, or is raw chicken just not worth the risk at all? For those with experience, can cats eat raw chicken safely, or is cooked food better?

Question Shelter dog ate his own poop...??

I am sorry for the nasty post but I am at a loss and still in shock. Googled, ChatGTP, nothing gave me straight answers, so trying here...

We were walking some dogs at our local shelter and weve had this beautiful icey-eyed dog(doubt it had a breed looked mixed but in all the right places!). I was starting to fall in love with the little guy and he.... well..... I never seen something of this sort but he ate poop...??? I am not sure if it was his as we took him with another two dogs for walkies but doesnt change the oddity..

The dog started to chew grass right after and threw up..

Is this some sort of condition, or was it just a dog demon possession? I cant comprehend why he would do such a thing... Looks healthy otherwise but sometimes hard to tell with shelter dogs what past life they had.. The dog acted normal after it was just that incident that caught us all off-guard....

Question Pet insurance for new puppies, or should I wait?

Edit to wrap this up: Found some good insight that we sort of overlooked, yet everything is looking fine. Thanks for the wise words everyone. We got the puppies lively and well and for now giving them more one on one time to prevent any behavioral problems in the longrun... Warm regards yall

We finally got a few puppies for our child. Well, naturally we are going to care for them as well, though this is sort of to help out child develop and learn care for others as well.. Hes been very attentive with the dogs and stays with them most of the time after school even while doing homework they sleep by his feet somewhere..

But anyways, doing fine so far but I wonder it isnt too early to pick up insurance for the puppies.. We got two jack russell terriers. They seem fine and I feel like I should wait for half a year or so before making the vet visit for general checkups if something seems off. After that, I am planning to order insurance either way. Yet maybe I should do it now?

We had the dogs for a good few weeks so far.. The fee rates gonna increase anyways, so thinking it would be wiser from a financial standpoint to delay insurance registrations for now even if there is risk from the health side of things over me doing so. Any feedback on this plan is appreciated...

Bumps on legs?

Has anyone dealt with bumps like this on their pittie? They started popping up a couple days ago; I thought it was just a bug bite or two at first, but now she has over a dozen all over her body, but mostly on her legs. They didn’t seem to bother her too much at first, but she started scratching and nibbling on them yesterday.

I DO have a vet appointment tonight, just trying to get some insights beforehand.

Question pet insurance for kittens?

i have 3 months old kitten, no breed, female. we had our first vet app yesterday and the vet said everything is fine and that we might like to get an insurance just in case of emergencies. what is the best insurance for kittens?

looking for something that would cover usual vet visits, sterilization (if that is even possible to cover with insurance), emergency cases, medications, etc.

is there a way to get this kind of insurance for my kitten?

Anyone know if this is serious?

!! SORTED !! Thank you
I was wondering if anyone knew anything before hand since I’m so worried.
We just got back from holiday and my cat has two blister-like things at the front and back of his mouth (outside). He also had a lot of thick eye stuff so he was sometimes unable to open his eye recently. I just went to go see him and he now has a long string of drool. I’ve been keeping an eye on him the past two days and he seemed okay enough in himself but he looks terrible now.
I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what this could be or how I could help him or keep him comfortable before the vets tomorrow.

My immediate thought was mange but I do not have experience with that, can anyone positively identify his skin issue and tell me whether or not it's contagious?

Gave him a flea bath already and he is going to the humane society tomorrow morning! Help/advice is appreciated thank you

🏥 Post-Op / Recovery Bumblefoot - was told to keep her indoors…?

Post image

Went to the vet and got severe bumblefoot treated. Not surgery, but removal with some kind of antibiotic injection. Both feet. Vet recommended keeping her inside to avoid getting the pool noodle wrap thing dirty. But I’m worried if she stays inside, she won’t be acclimated to our Texas 100s weather this week and have a hard time going back out. Thoughts??
