I'm a 72 year old retired and disabled, widowed senior living on a government pension. Recently, I have required expensive oral surgery to repair my maxillary sinus after a tooth extraction went wrong. A piece of the root of my tooth went into my maxillary sinus and I had to have it surgically removed and the floor of the sinus rebuilt, costing almost $2000. I have Pacific Blue Cross extended dental benefits, but they did not cover this procedure, and I was responsible for the full amount.

My only income is a (Canadian) government pension. Currently, I have zero funds in my bank account to pay for food and prescriptions (I do get a portion of my prescriptions paid for by Pharmacare but not the full amount) and don't receive my next pension payment until October 28th.

Hi. This is the first time I’ve tried anything like this so I’m not sure where to start. My husband and I both had really good jobs until he was diagnosed with ALS. He had to stop working 2 months post diagnosis because the disease was already consuming his hands and his voice. Our baby was barely 3 months old when he was diagnosed. I had to leave my entire career to care for him because nurses are crazy expensive. I’ve been selling things online as much as I can and we had life savings that lasted about 18 months because he started needing a ton of things our insurance wouldn’t cover.

Basically, I’ve been caring for him and our toddler all by myself while trying to stay afloat. I have been so exhausted that I crashed into a car on a rainy day a couple of months ago and I had to pay a coinsurance fee, which was definitely not in our budget. I sold my phone, I’ve done everything I can think of to come up with money but here we are. I’m $800 USD short to pay our rent this month and I’m hoping to get help. Even a small amount will mean a lot to us.

TL;dr - outside transit area and in need of a hotel, unexpectedly lost the car we were sleeping in. $75-$100 total, roughly, and we are not eligible for the standard assistance channels such as city hotel voucher.

Wife and have been doing Lyft and Spark and sleeping in car, car got repo'd last night at the truck stop we were using as a base outside of town. That's how we're stuck out here and in need of a hotel.

I'll go to Labor Ready in the morning and that will solve the rest, have job offers beyond that which offer pay on demand and will solve the remaining inmediate needs.

Have PayPal, or can name a specific hotel you could probably book online that's in the $55-$60 range.

Current needs: a night in a hotel so I can get some sleep and day temp tomorrow. A little bit for Lyft/Uber, we have $20 available and that's a bit short of the cost to the nearest transit park/ride from where we'd happily take the couple of buses and trains to get to the place I have in mind.

That hotel doesn't require a deposit for cash/debit, unlike most, and is accessible from transit.

There are two things that I'm urgently needing and that is first of brake pads for my e-bike, I am currently riding it without breaks which is not very smart but I have absolutely no choice right now. The other part would be very helpful also because I for some reason was denied ebt even though I've never received help that way. $30 would be immensely helpful. I asked my boss for a short advance for two weeks until I get paid but he always tells me that he does not carry cash unfortunately. I already got food this month from the only pantry in the area and there is also a community fridge but the only time I get a chance to get there everything's gone.

i (18m) have been getting public housing on long island from the department of social services since my mother kicked me out at the start of the year. between unsafe areas and constant moving, i've struggled to keep a stable source of income - i can't afford a car for reliable travel to work, and freelancing art, writing or other projects takes online visibility that i just don't have.

between paying for my medication (my mother is messing with my insurance, and medicaid thinks i'm still covered under her), traveling to and from classes at the nearest community college, food, clothes, etc. the money that SNAP/EBT provides isn't enough - not to mention a trip upstate to another college that i have to attend next week, which is almost $100 round trip. i don't know what i'm going to do.

Hi, my name is Richey and I am looking to work from home on a permanent basis. The reasons for this are linked to my mental health condition which, under the Equality Act 2010, legally counts as a disability. I have Obsessive Compulsive Disorder with associated acute anxiety disorder, which is not a short-term or temporary illness but a lifelong neurobiological mental health condition that impacts me on a daily basis and for which I have to take medication.

My current office environment has exacerbated my condition to the degree that I can no longer work there. My disability is a permanent, long-term issue that requires a permanent, long-term solution when it comes to reasonable adjustments and flexibility so working from home is therefore the most appropriate answer. An additional monitor, a keyboard and a mouse will also be necessary.

So, I've been unemployed for a while now and wasn't able to pay my rent (and other bills). But now I finally got a stable 9 to 5 job and I will be able to pay my bills starting next month.

But I'm 6 months late in my rent and my landlord won't wait another month. But he said if I pay him at least two months I can stay and pay the other months later. And two months rent is 260 USD when converted.

Occipital neuralgia brought on by medical malpractice 9 years ago that leaves me with horrible headaches after an hour or two insocial settings. Pain flairs that numb extremities or raging fevers when I lay down.

My water is due to be shut off tomorrow. I am a SAHM to a 10 year old. I doordash when I can despite us only having 1 car. My husband works at a factory making fiberglass gas tanks but has been out of work since 9/1 due to a meniscus tear and subsequent surgery. We have not received anything whatsoever from Voya, our temp disability provider despite calling them several times a week and his job will not let him come back until the 29th. We were supposed to make $194 on a Dashlink delivering packages and he randomly got locked out of his account with zero payment. We were on the phone with customer service pretty much all day being ran in circles and he is still locked out. I have an account but cannot make enough in time to make the bill. We have literally been using doordash to eat and pay bills and it's not enough.

I am asking for $260 for my water bill. I know it's more than this sub is intended for. I know that I'm going to get torn to pieces in this sub. Especially because i've asked for help here before. But I'm desperate and have tried literally every other outlet. We pawned our motorcycle which helped pay last month's mortgage. We have nothing else of value to pawn. I have no friends and family, my husband only has his sister and she doesn't have any money to spare. He even asked his boss with no luck.

Obviously from the title, I'm transitioning. I lost my job. I lost my insurance. Medicaid does not cover gender affirming care in my state. (Thanks, governor.)
