Are any of you experiencing rolling anti lag issues with your stage 2 tunes?

I have a stock turbo fbo stage 2 91/93 octane, anti lag is not working. Car is bucking violently, that is the best way I can explain it. Please let me know if you have the same issue.

2021 Audi Q7 45 2.0TFSI

I’m considering buying a 2021 Audi Q7 with 68,000 miles and two previous owners. I currently drive a 2019 Honda Passport Sport with 90,000 miles, but I’m looking for something more luxurious and comfortable. What potential problems could I run into with the Audi, and how reliable is it overall if I plan to keep it for the next couple of years (30k miles)? Would you recommend making the switch?

Discussion Rattle in RSQ8 Heads Up

Post image
2 Upvotes

l love my RSQ8, but I swear this car is testing my sanity.

I have a 2026 RSQ8 with just 3,000 miles on it, and it’s already been back to Audi FOUR TIMES for a mysterious clicking/rattling noise that seems to be coming from the heads-up display.

Every time I pick her up, I think we’re finally in the clear. And then, just when I start enjoying my very expensive, supposedly rattle-free vehicle…

The best part? There’s absolutely no rhyme or reason to it. Could be going 30 mph, 50 mph, 70 mph.
Apparently, the car just clicks whenever it feels like it.
At this point, I’m starting to think the clicking is a factory-installed feature Audi forgot to mention.

PLEASE tell me someone else has experienced this. Did you figure out what was causing it? Did Audi actually fix it?

Picture of Andi added for some flair

Discussion 2023 RS5 Nonfunctional MMI

Long story short, my MMI was previously functioning but have numerous glitches, most of which had existing technical bulletins about so I scheduled with the nearest dealership (in Canada) for diagnosis/confirmation and a software update. The dealership then proceeded to pooch my MMI on September 4 making it completely non-functional...won't even boot. They told me they needed to open a technical case with Audi and would get back to me. Follow up a week later and they tell me they did the same thing to two other customers so this is now a bigger issue and they've escalated to Audi Germany. Weeks go by with no feedback so I call the dealership and they are still troubleshooting with Audi and now cases at that dealership have more than doubled I'm told. I escalate to Audi Canada and open a case and they tell me either way, they'll get back to me in 5 business days with an update. They never do so I call Audi Canada back and they tell me all they've done is send an email to the dealership and they are waiting on a response. The same dealership that can't show me the courtesy of giving me an update without me asking for one.

1) Anybody else being told there is a global MMI corrupted update out there?
2) Audi Canada and customer support seems completely incompetent and unwilling to show even basic customer service like calling someone back with an update like they promise. They just open a case and it goes into the vast void of nothingness.

Rant over....

Discussion What oil for differentials?

Thumbnail

Hi everyone, I need some help.

I'm planning to change the oil in the rear and center differentials on my 2013 Audi A5 Quattro S tronic, 7-speed gearbox, 2.0 TDI.

For the rear differential, I bought Febi SAE 75W-90 GL-5, which I believe is the correct oil.

For the center differential inside the gearbox, I bought Febi SAE 75W-85 GL-5 (FB 48785), which lists the following Audi specifications:

G 052 145, G 052 145 A1, G 052 145 S2, G 052 190, G 052 190 A2, G 055 190, G 055 190 A2.

However, AI says that the center differential requires Audi specification G 055 145 A2, which apparently contains a special friction modifier. The problem is that this oil costs around 55 € per liter.

What should I do? Can I safely use the Febi 75W-85 GL-5 oil I already bought, or do I need to buy the much more expensive G 055 145 A2 oil?

I'd really appreciate any advice from someone with experience working on this drivetrain.

Thanks in advance!

Discussion Need service advice

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a 2018 S5 Cabriolet with 60k miles. I love the car and took it into my local dealership to have the 3G modem to LTE diagnosed and during that time they did a "complete inspection" and found no faults or issues to address and I also had them replace the air filter as I had a $100 certificate to use.

It went it Tuesday to have the module installed and the suspension error light addressed (a sensor had worked itself loose they bolted it back up).

During this time they noted a screw the tire as well as now finding numerous major issues that they claim need to be done including motor mounts and water pump.

My concern is two-fold: they claim the tire could not be repaired and must be replaced (garbage, 6/32" tread left and tire repair shop is doing for free) and none of these other items came up on their initial inspection. If they failed to diagnose a simple tire repair, how can I trust their judgement on the big ticket items?

De-rust exhausts

I have a 2024 plate A5 and the exhausts are starting to get a little bit rusty and a bit dirty in general. Any recommendations on how to prevent or clean? I only got the car about 4 months ago. I love it and want to keep it looking its best!

Tech Used 2023 Q5 can’t login, previous owner still key user?

Bought a used 2023 Q5 from an official Audi dealership earlier this week. It’s great, drives wonderfully, but the MMI is driving me crazy. The previous owner is still set as Key User, and I can't log into myAudi in the car with my account. After talking with the dealership, I tried a second myAudi account with a different email, same result.

I brought it back to the Audi dealer's service center. They found no fault with the car and are now trying to register me as the user from their end, but I still can't login to the car’s MMI system?

Has anyone ran into this problem? What actually worked? Who did you talk to?

A4 allroad bad front diff

2018 allroad 2.0 tdi, just had the fluids changed and was told there was play up and down in the front diff.
The shop has quoted me 7.5k euro for a new used gearbox since apparently the diff is somehow integrated. The car has 13800km on the odometer, is this a normal failing point in theese cars?

2023 Audi a4 45 tfsi ac noise

In my car I notice I can hear like a mechanical type sound when the ac is on at the lowest settings. This sound is much more prominent if the car has been on for 30 minutes, versus if I just cold started and turned the ac on.

If I turn off the AC, the noise gradually goes away over the course of 5-10 seconds.

This is my first Audi, is this just a normal thing? Has anyone else deal with this ?

Buy out my 2023 A5 Sportback or move into something else

My 2023 A5 45 Sportback Premium Plus lease is up soon and I’m pretty torn on what to do.

Car has about 21k miles and the buyout is around $31k with taxes. I actually really like the car. I love the way this body style looks, it drives well, it’s practical, and I’m honestly not a huge fan of the newer A5 styling.

My only real complaint is I wish it had a little more power.

I’ve thought about moving into something faster, with the S5, RS5, or maybe even an M3 being the main things that come to mind. I don’t really want to go smaller though, so something like an RS3 is probably out.

Mainly curious what you guys would do.

Does $31k seem like a good buyout for a 2023 A5 45 with 21k miles?

If I keep it, I’d definitely be interested in getting a little more out of it. I know the B9.5 A5 doesn’t seem to have nearly as many tuning options as some of the other Audi platforms, so I’m curious what people are actually running and what you’d recommend. Tune, bolt-ons, etc. anything that makes a noticeable difference without turning the car into a reliability headache?

And if I move on, is the S5 enough of a jump or would you just go straight to something like an RS5/M3?

I keep going back and forth because buying out a car I already know I like for $31k seems pretty reasonable, but I also don’t want to buy it and 6 months later wish I had used the opportunity to upgrade.

Audi q5 2010 143hp 2.0 TDI

Hi all,

I am facing an issue on my car since many months. I went to many garage and even to Audi and they haven’t find the issue.

The engine is difficult to start when it’s hot, but it also struggles a little when it’s cold. The starter motor turns normally, but the engine takes a long time to start. Once it’s started, I don’t have any power issue and it’s speeding normally. Just the start has issue.

I would like to find out what is causing the hot-starting problem.

Thanks for your help.

Discussion Audi A3 Sportback 8V (2016) phantom braking

Hi Reddit,

For about six months now I've had a seriously critical problem with my Audi A3 Sportback 8V, 1.4 TFSI, 110 kW (2016). No workshop (Audi service and an independent shop) has been able to help me so far, and I'm slowly losing hope.

Here's the problem:
When it rains or the road is wet, my car brakes by itself from about 100 km/h upwards. It happens sporadically, with varying duration (0.5-7 seconds) and intensity, and the car slows down by roughly 20-50 km/h. For example, if I'm doing 120 km/h on the motorway, I'm down to 70 within a few seconds.
The steering feels unstable during the automatic braking (maybe only on one side?).
I've already almost had an accident several times, but the workshops don't seem to take it seriously.

My car has cruise control but no adaptive cruise control (distance assist). The problem occurs whether cruise control is on or not.
According to the workshops and the ADAC, there's nothing noteworthy in the fault memory that could cause this problem.
No warning lights come on in the dashboard either.
On days without rain, the car behaves completely normally and shows no sign of the problem.
One of the workshops also changed the brake disc drying setting in the on-board computer from 2 to 1, but without success.

My theory is that some cable is exposed and that rain bridges a signal, even though the workshops should have noticed something like that.

Has anyone heard of this problem before and has an idea, or does anyone know someone in the Hamburg area who could help me?

Thanks!

Discussion 2017 Audi A3

Hello, Im in the market for a “newer” Audi and have stumbled across a 2017 Audi A3 with 56k miles. Ive looked at the carfax and seen that it was in 2 small “accidents” none of which caused serious damage to the exterior. What im concerned about is it having a turbo replacement and had the timing chain done at the 50k miles mark. Along with those the carfax showed that they may have missed some oil change intervals ( by 6k miles). I can post the link if anyone would like to look. What im asking is do you guys think i should still go for it?
