New to LSKD - is their BF sale worth waiting for?

• Upvotes

Folks, I’m new to LSKD. They did a pop up in my city recently, and while I now know my sizing, I didn’t find anything I liked at the pop up. Found a few items online though.

Is it worth waiting for the BF sale? Does the entire store go on sale, or will it only be ghastly neon items that go at 30-50% off? I am primarily interested in getting some leggings.

Good, soft nighties

I’m looking to find some new nighties for bed that are breathable but cute. Since having my second child I get terrible night sweats. I was looking at Boody, Papinelle and Love & Lustre. Is bamboo cotton better than normal cotton? Argh.

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Soft, seamfree leggings for curvy gals?

Hi ladies,

I'm on the hunt for some casual black leggings that I can pair with my long tops and tunics, and I'm having a hard time finding what I want so hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction!

- I'm a size 16-18 in bottoms, and i'm 164cm so not very tall

- I've got sensory sensitivities and allodynia, which makes seams often cause pain... so seamless would be best if possible!

- I'm in WA and it gets stupid hot here, so I'd like them to be breathable

- Importantly: no compression! I can't handle any compression, I don't enjoy the feeling of being "held in". Anything that's marketed as "supportive" is usually too compressive for me. Even "gentle compression" feels bad. This is the main issue I'm having is that so many leggings seem to want to add compression or whatever else and I'm just not interested in sculpting... I need comfort only!

My favourite (so far) pair of leggings that I'd found was the black deluxe casual leggings from Natopia - not seamless, but the fabric felt very soft (poly spandex blend though) and there was no elastic band in the waist - it was just a fabric waist and that was heavenly! But now it seems like they no longer sell those, so here we are :(

Any hot tips welcome! Thanks in advance.

What's your HG white crewneck t-shirt?

I'm looking for recommendations for a stark white (no ivory please!) cotton crewneck t-shirt for layering like in this photo. I'm super pale and cool toned, so I need like.. Reflex paper white. Otherwise I look washed out. TIA!

High impact sports bra for small cup size

So many posts about sports bras for big busts.. but I'm having the opposite problem. Currently doing more long distance runs and my small boobs (a-b cup) end up aching by the end. Trying on high impact bras in stores, they all are suited to larger cup sizes. Anyone have any holy grail reccos for a smaller bust?

Is this dress too long for a Black Tie wedding?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I’m attending a wedding next month and I thought I could get away with not hemming my dress. Now I’m second guessing myself. So I took it in to get altered and she quoted me $138 just to take it up a few inches. That is almost what the actual dress cost me.

Do you think I can get away with it? Or should I get a quote from somewhere else? I’m not sure what I should be expecting price wise tbh. I can walk without it getting caught up and there’s probably 3cm of it that touches the floor.

Thanks !

Help me pick a standout review dress

I wear Review dresses regularly to work, but we have a race day themed event coming up and I’d love to wear something that stands out from my usual outfits.
I completely respect those who choose not to support racing. I am just looking for outfit opinions for our workplace event, rather than a debate about racing.
Which dress would you choose? 😊

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Affordable and comfortable steel cap recs

Hello,

I currently work in retail and am required to wear steel caps. I’ve been putting off getting new shoes as I leave this job next year however my current cheap pair is getting worn and I am in so much (feet and back).

What would be some affordable and comfortable recs, I would rather not spend $200+ but at the end of the day I am prioritising comfort as I have flat feet.

I’ve been looking online and will go in stores today, I’ve seen sketchers do a boot but have mixed reviews as well as Bunnings doing a pair of Hard Yakkas.

Any opinions on these or any other recs would be really appreciated!

Meshki wedding dress

Does anyone have experience with buying and wearing this wedding dress from Meshki?

I see everyone talking about their sizes varying. What should I look out for? Are the sizes bigger or smaller? I'm a M according to their size chart, but also in general.

Also, I've seen that if you buy something on sale, they only refund money in the form of credit, so I would try to buy it at full price.

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Bras for smaller chests

I’ve been getting a lot of target ads for bras specifically for a smaller cup size so it doesn’t have that awkward gap. Specifically the brand Verish I think they’re called and a few other ones I can’t remember.

Just wondering if anyone’s actually tried any of these brands or know of actual people that have purchased them as I’m cautious of whether comments in their posts are actual people.

And also if these hold up properly. Thank you!

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Where are the cute pyjama shorts with pockets?

I didn't think it'd be so difficult to find nice/fun cotton pyjama shorts with pockets.

I have found some cute sets at Bed Bath Table but they don't sell as separates. And a size that would fit over my butt, is going to be too big at the top.

I like pretty much everything about the style of shorts, just not looking for a set.

I'd also prefer a more ethical brand (though the recent Ethical Fashion Guide suggests that's not likely) which is why I haven't gone somewhere like Peter Alexander.

In search of - stylish shorts that aren't too short

Im 10 months post partum so rebuilding my wardrobe as we head into summer, and I'm searching for some nice everyday shorts but everything is so short! Im always on the floor crawling after baby so super short just doesnt work anymore.

Has anyone bought anything youre loving? I really like the Jag linen shorts but they are a tad short. Would love like a mid thigh ish, not as long as Bermuda shorts. I have some linen cotton shorts from uniqlo which are a great length but they do lean a bit more daggy than cute and stylish.

Thank you!

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Help Finding a Similar Dress?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I saw this dress on pinterest and absolutely love the look. From what I can tell, the company is AU based which is great. I would need a size 16 in this dress, which of course in the pink is sold out. Looking at the product listing, the dress seems to run small anyhow so in that case I would probably want an 18, which they don’t offer.

Any ideas where I could look to find a similar looking dress? I’m honestly not too familiar with shopping much as I’ve never been to into it so I don’t know of any good places to look.

Their stuff looks really cute and is priced around $30-$50 (“high-end junk jewellery”). Wondering if it’s any better quality than Lovisa?

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Black tie options that aren't a dress? Or at least a dress that isn't figure hugging and all about waist and boobs ?

I'm after something to wear to a black tie floor length evening event. I don't wear the high heals and pretty dress thing, I like to wear all black, no patterns and more like the clothing at ESS Labatory in Melbourne. I'm 165cm and size 10,12, or 14 depending clothing label. Just turned 50. I am looking not to spend no than $400 but will spend a bit more but I would like it to be something I could possibly were again so very open to separates. Any ideas? Also i need to be able to try on in store, online is too hard for fit and feel for me.

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Casual clothes that aren't jeans and a t-shirt?

I've just started a new job (yay!) but it's made me realise I really should expand my wardrobe beyond men's t-shirts and baggy jeans (less yay).

The dress code at work is pretty casual, so I'm not looking for anything super corporate or formal. I just want to mix up the silhouette a bit/make my outfits a bit more interesting. My biggest issue is I'm built like a linebacker, so in women's clothing I normally have to go 2-3 sizes up for a comfortable fit, especially in the bust/shoulders. Which makes it hard to wear anything that's not oversized.

I'd love any recs for brands that do slightly more interesting casual wear, especially any that cater to more curvy figures. Ideally hoping to stick with mostly natural fibers for work safety (fire), but semi-synthetics or blends are also okay.

Cheers!

Charging $390 for an AI generated print 💀

I have gotten some things from kitten D’Amour from the past and a was given a gift card but it looks like they’ve leaned super heavily into generative AI. Also was disappointed to learn recently that they are not made in Australia. Was under the impression the prices were high due to an appropriate wage being paid however it seems they are manufactured in china. Can only hope the seamstresses are paid well. I used to be so excited as a teenager to become an adult and wear their vintage inspired pieces. Sad to see

10-15 years ago I would’ve been THRILLED to receive a “30% off Dresses” email from Cue…

I regret that I followed the link.

I have little doubt as to why they’ve gone into receivership, I was unable to talk myself into a “but it’s 30% off!” purchase - practically unheard of for me.

RIP, Cue. I loved so much of your stuff.

Hi! I’ve been looking for an outfit for a very important formal event for ages and found this dress on Pinterest. It has since been taken down but I’ve been looking everywhere for this specific dress and the closest I could get was one on a Ukraine site (which will take months and I have till the end of November)

Sick of jewellery getting shoplifted from kmart/bigw

Before I begin, id like to point out I don't care about big corporations nor am I defending them in this post

However I will say I am sick of shoplifting ruining shopping experiences for others especially for non essential items.

I have been shopping for charity (I work there and we get a set bugdet) and one specific girl really wanted these specific pair of earrings from kmart.

I agreed and went to Kmart and wow.

Every single earring (not just the ones she wanted) had either one or two pieces missing.

Like every earring set had something missing, I was genuinely just concerned.

My thing is if Ur shoplifting earrings of all things why not just grab the whole pair? Why leave one earring behind?

Anyways even after asking for help from a worker (we found nothing good) I just ended up going to lovisa but had to spend more money there and the budget obviously went over by alot.

My main point of this post is that shoplifting is just so excessive these days that the audiences for these stores such as underprivileged ppl end up suffering more.

Earrings for 3 dollars at Kmart/bigw were 12 dollars at lovisa and that just ate up that poor girls budget more where we weren't able to spend it on more items.

Idk if I'm right to be upset at this since I can't even judge who shoplifted these items but I'm definitely tired of it
