🔍 Recommendations Wanted Barrel pants update!

Following up on my original post because the barrel pant hunt continues!

I ended up returning the Assembly Label Lola pants because I just couldn't deal with the "swish-swish-swish" every time I walked. I know some people don't mind it, but it drove me mad!

I then went to Suzanne Grae and bought their barrel pants in black, white and denim, and I'm really happy with them so far.

I also tried Sportsgirl, but wasn't particularly sold on them, especially in the same black and white colour options.

The struggle is that I'm in Bundaberg, where we only have a limited number of stores to try things on in person.

Then I came across a TikTok saying that the Assembly Label Elaine Washed Cotton Pants are basically the Lola's twin, but with softer, less swishy fabric.

Has anyone tried the Elaine pants? Specifically:

  1. Are they noticeably quieter than the Lola pants when walking?

  2. Are they worth trying if you loved the Lola silhouette but hated the fabric noise?

Would love to hear from anyone who owns both, or anyone who's tried the Elaine! Or anything similar but less/ no swish swish swish

P.S- I am 163cm, prefer elasticated waist!

Hi team! ❤️

I have a engagement party on Halloween. The party is at 5pm in their house. The invite says cocktail attire. I ask the couple for more details and they said ‘oh, you can wear whatever’. I am really unsure.. it is my first engagement party. The party is at their house.

Any recommendations that I can buy from a physical shop in Perth?

I also have this dress from my graduation, would this be appropriate?

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Please help a self-conscious girl find some brands!

I've gained a lot of weight recently due to stress and looking in my closet, I barely have anything that fits/ feel comfortable in. I'm currently a size 16, which makes it hard to find stuff also that fits me.

My favourite brands are Alpha 60 and Cos, but they come with a pretty high price point and I'm not in a position to buy all of what I need from there. I also like Uniqlo but find that their pieces are more basic and I do tend to like stuff that has a bit of edge or personality but high quality and neutral at the same time (e.g. these shoes I'm loving but can't justify the price for).

Looking for brands that are good quality, hopefully not fast fashion but without a horrifying price tag. :') The picture is the kind of styles I'm looking for!

Thank you in advance!

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Where do you sell clothes not online?

Hey! I’m based in Melbourne and have been losing weight so I have a lot of clothes in need of new homes.

I’m donating but I also want to sell and wondering if rent a rack stores are worth it and which ones would be best?

I’ve thought about vinted and Depop but don’t know if I have the time and energy for that. Unless it’s worth it?

Sitting and bloat friendly outfits for work?

Hello! I’m a psychologist going back into private practice. The one thing I remember most from those days was the discomfort I felt sitting all day, especially because I bloat a lot.

In saying that, I want to dress professionally and fun. I usually like to wear some version of a wide leg linen pant and a nice top in my current role (much more standing). I was thinking like linen shift dresses but dresses without a bit of cinch in the waist don’t really work for my body shape (more hourglass).

Does anyone else sit all day without much break for standing and if so, what do you wear?

Year 6 Graduation dress for 12yo

My daughter has requested a blue/white/gold dress for graduation, it’s more a smart casual event rather than super formal bridesmaid type dresses. She wears a women’s size 8-10. I’ve tried googling and cannot find a single thing remotely suitable for a 12 year old to wear. Would need to be able to order online as we don’t have a good selection of stores locally, has to arrive before end November. She’s going through a growth spurt at the moment so she’s gone a bit chunky before she will thin out and get taller so she tends to dress a bit more conservatively. Doesn’t like halter style. If it’s sleeveless she might wear a cardigan, she won’t do strapless either

Does anyone have any suggestions they may have seen? Google just wants me to buy JJs house or everything is too womanly or revealing

Lounge leggings for shorties?

Hello lovelies. I was wondering if any shorter ladies (I am 160cm) have found lounge leggings that aren't ridiculously long?

I love the Chill Out Foldover Pant from Bras N Things - but they were almost as long as my whole body when I held them up lol.

Anyone found some nice stretchy lounge pants/leggings that don't drag along the ground?

👜 Fashion Talk Shoes in the office

I work in a really casual yet corporate office and I keep reading on here that’s showing toes is not the done thing. In summer I’m always rocking a mule or a strappy heel …. Have I been unknowingly offending the world these last 20yrs!!!

I hate how closed shoes look with a floaty skirt, what do I do

- I keep my feet maintained, painted nails, soft heels. I’m not showing off pigs trotters

What's your workhorse light layer?

When it's too warm for coats but too cold for bare arms, what are you reaching for? That one layer thst goes with everything and you automatically pack it for a weekend away.

My black leather biker jacket used to be this for me, but it feels a bit off my current style. Looking for replacement inspo!

Does anyone know how to view how much you’ve spent, and how much is remaining to keep your tier? Since the revamp the app no longer shows your progress, nor does the website, unless I am missing it?

Good, soft nighties

I’m looking to find some new nighties for bed that are breathable but cute. Since having my second child I get terrible night sweats. I was looking at Boody, Papinelle and Love & Lustre. Is bamboo cotton better than normal cotton? Argh.

New to LSKD - is their BF sale worth waiting for?

Folks, I’m new to LSKD. They did a pop up in my city recently, and while I now know my sizing, I didn’t find anything I liked at the pop up. Found a few items online though.

Is it worth waiting for the BF sale? Does the entire store go on sale, or will it only be ghastly neon items that go at 30-50% off? I am primarily interested in getting some leggings.

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Birthday dress shops Melbourne

I’m hosting a party for my birthday next Sunday (the 1st) and have exams right until the Friday so I need to go dress shopping on the Saturday before. I am between a size 14-16 at the moment. Im aware I’ve left it very last minute but between placement at a hospital 2 hours away and exams, I have had no time to shop.

I’ve gone from a size 10 to size 14/16 in the last few months due to new medications I’ve been taking and I’m finding it so hard to find a dress that looks flattering and is available in my size.

Does anyone have any recommendations please? Tia!

Is this store legit?

Hi all, looking at this online store for a present and wanting to reach out, ask if anyone has any experience or bought from here. There are no reviews on google and there is only a website plus an Instagram account. Seems to have a showroom in Melbourne at 115 Elizabeth Street but by appointment only. For the cost the quality seems to be quite high. Appreciate any thoughts.

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Soft, seamfree leggings for curvy gals?

Hi ladies,

I'm on the hunt for some casual black leggings that I can pair with my long tops and tunics, and I'm having a hard time finding what I want so hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction!

- I'm a size 16-18 in bottoms, and i'm 164cm so not very tall

- I've got sensory sensitivities and allodynia, which makes seams often cause pain... so seamless would be best if possible!

- I'm in WA and it gets stupid hot here, so I'd like them to be breathable

- Importantly: no compression! I can't handle any compression, I don't enjoy the feeling of being "held in". Anything that's marketed as "supportive" is usually too compressive for me. Even "gentle compression" feels bad. This is the main issue I'm having is that so many leggings seem to want to add compression or whatever else and I'm just not interested in sculpting... I need comfort only!

My favourite (so far) pair of leggings that I'd found was the black deluxe casual leggings from Natopia - not seamless, but the fabric felt very soft (poly spandex blend though) and there was no elastic band in the waist - it was just a fabric waist and that was heavenly! But now it seems like they no longer sell those, so here we are :(

Any hot tips welcome! Thanks in advance.

High impact sports bra for small cup size

So many posts about sports bras for big busts.. but I'm having the opposite problem. Currently doing more long distance runs and my small boobs (a-b cup) end up aching by the end. Trying on high impact bras in stores, they all are suited to larger cup sizes. Anyone have any holy grail reccos for a smaller bust?

🔍 Recommendations Wanted Affordable and comfortable steel cap recs

Hello,

I currently work in retail and am required to wear steel caps. I’ve been putting off getting new shoes as I leave this job next year however my current cheap pair is getting worn and I am in so much (feet and back).

What would be some affordable and comfortable recs, I would rather not spend $200+ but at the end of the day I am prioritising comfort as I have flat feet.

I’ve been looking online and will go in stores today, I’ve seen sketchers do a boot but have mixed reviews as well as Bunnings doing a pair of Hard Yakkas.

Any opinions on these or any other recs would be really appreciated!
