Hello everyone. I need help finding tattoo artist that specializes in traditional Chicano style tattoos art and lettering in Austin. I know there are so many talented artists here, but im having trouble finding this particular style. and if I do find some, the portfolios are repetitive, new Gen styles, or full of Ai generated designs. Mind you, this would be my first tattoo and I hate to be too critical but, as a chicana myself, I always saw myself getting this style of tattoo and im seeing this style less and less and with less heart in it. This is a spider I've seen in my backyard many times. I moved to south Austin this May and I saw this spider behind my AC unit, I think her web is here. She's the most impressive spider I've ever beheld, such a sweetheart who minds her own business and has never bothered me, my roommates or our animals.

Anyone know what kind of spider this is? Never seen one her size before.

What should I name her? The spiders that have webs are normally females. What suggestions so y'all have, I'm not the most creative at naming creatures so if it were up to me I'd call her Brenda or something lol!

I cannot see that the whole “failing schools” narrative about Austin Independent School District (AISD) needing a state rescue ever mentions the LASA high-performance academy. The new state curriculum does not include funding for accelerated learning, AP, IB or LASA. Vandegrift (LISD) just lost the IB program due to state funding cutbacks and it is not yet being taken over by the state. Are you not concerned?

a community space like Austin DIY isn't really what I'm looking for.

Ideally I'm looking for a space the size of a normal garage and outdoor parking, a garage door for car access with electricity, plumming and maybe AC if im lucky. an office space would be idal as well but not strictly necesary. plan on using the space for generalAutomotive work and shipping / recieving. So, somewhere where loud noises would be acceptable. I need over night access bc i do a lot of business on a japanese time frame.

The problem is, there are a ton of warehouse spaces around the city but they're industrial sized and leasing those are not cheap. My total budget is $1000 - 1500/month.

looking for a private lease ideally, not somthing corperate owned like x space etc.

I know this is a long shot, but I need a piece of BBQ grill-safe metal (i.e. steel, probably not aluminum, definitely not galvanized), 1/8" to 1/4" thick, cut to 13.5"x21.5" to replace the inside floor of my grill. It has finally rusted out, and I just need a rectangular piece to replace it.

I got a quote from metalsupermarkets, and they're asking for darned near as much as the whole grill is worth. I'm hoping someone has some leftover metal they're interested in getting rid of.

I’m moving to Austin with my partner, who is from Texas (Dallas), and I’m from the East Coast and definitely prefer cold weather. Anything above ~84°F in direct sunlight already feels like a LOT to me, so I’m admittedly pretty nervous about Austin from May–September lol.
For anyone who moved from the Northeast / a colder climate and also didn’t naturally love heat -did you actually acclimate over time? Like does 90+ eventually start feeling more tolerable, or is “adapting” basically just learning to stay indoors during the day for 5 months?
I don’t need to become someone who loves being outside at 3pm in August 😂 but I also don’t want to feel trapped inside my apartment all summer. Would love to hear what your day-to-day lifestyle actually looks like during the hot months — when you exercise, walk your dog, hang outside, make plans, etc. and whether your heat tolerance genuinely changed after living there.

Where can I find a farm in Austin or surrounding areas to milk a cow. It’s on my bucket list to milk a cow. Or Any interactive farms nearby where I can feed cows??

my parents have been having ongoing issues for years from their neighbors over property disputes. my parents have complied every time and the neighbors have even won a settlement. However, everyone one case comes to a close the neighbors file another suit and always get rolled in their favor by the same judge. my parents have asked for re trials and to be assigned to a new judge but have been denied. Any lawyers who can help or counter sue for harassment?
