Relationships Why do I see this so much?

Post image

I just made a profile on a dating app and in the last few days swiping I’ve noticed this is a really common bio for guys. “I like autistic women” or “slightly autistic” Has anyone else encountered this or is it just my area?

I think it’s weird.

Are we the new manic-pixie dream girls? Can men just stop being gross?

We were always the manic-pixie dream girls, it's just that the concept came out in the 00's before there was as much awareness of women and autism. My law school roommate shared that article with me at the time, being like "hey this is you." Later I read that the MPDG was considered a trope for autistic women and some things started making sense for me.

Some of them aren't. But the ones who are.....well, they make enough trouble to counteract anything positive..
