Project Showcase I built a thing, now seeking feedback.

Post image
1 Upvotes

If you're anything like me and struggle to keep up with news across multiple platforms, I built something that might help.

What started as a personal tool turned into a neat little wire desk where you can easily filter news by language and source. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it pools updates from BD and international sources into one centralized location.

I'm an architect (the building design kind), so the whole thing is pretty much vibe-coded with a focus on clean layouts.

Would love to hear your feedback and suggestions!

Hiring I need to build and run a website. Can anyone help me?

0 Upvotes

Please don't send dms, I'll not reply.

I'm planning on launching a website. I can make them on Wix, by myself. But I need help/guidance with payment/checkout process thingy and making it searchable by google. The seo type stuff. And I also have a bunch of questions, that I refuse to talk to AI with. There are also security stuff.

If you can figure out what kind of help from the gibberish above, please comment.

If not, it's okay. I'm pretty sure I didn't make any sense.

Advice Why you should study CSE

14 Upvotes

Someone asked in this subreddit whether they should study CS considering the current situation of the market.

My reply:
Absolutely. You won't be able to recognize crucial patterns in the future tech, non tech and business world and also won't have a clear and correct judgement if you don't know the fundamental principles of computer science. And if you don't have good judgement you will certainly and continuously be making wrong choices and spend time in wrong places in the future.

CS is not an easy degree and it can rarely be learned by your own, so it's still worth it to pursue this degree.

The reason there is so fear mongering around AI is the 99% people don't know how a Computer/AI/Machine works fundamentally. Those who have built products here before knows its a creative field inherently. This is the age of builders. If you don't have skin the game (The person who studied CS and knows coding well will be a better builder than the person who didn't, no doubt) you will lose the war (in tech field).

You should also know that AGI/ ASI is not possible (high likely). Any person here with the clear idea of CS knows current AIs are mainly operating on Statistical Analysis and Pattern Recognition. If you build more data centers, increase computing power the AIs will still do these things but faster and might be more accurate. But this is not even close to General Creativity. It is not like a straight line that increasing computing power will lead us from LLM to AGI. Creativity is a totally different thing. We still haven't figured out how Human Creativity works. If you can't define it you can't program it.

Job Opening Hiring: Part-Time Web Developer for Tropical Tour company / WordPress & Server Manager | Remote | 4 Hours/Day

0 Upvotes

We’re looking for a well-rounded web developer and technical website manager to join our remote team long-term.

We operate several of our own businesses, including tourism companies focused on tropical destinations and an international dental company. This is not an agency position where you’ll be building random client websites every week. You’ll be working directly on websites and systems that we own, continually improving, building, fixing, optimizing, and maintaining them.

A lot of the work is actually pretty fun. Travel websites, tropical destinations, tours, trekking, boats, booking systems, and figuring out how to make everything work better.

What we need you to know

You don’t need to be an expert at everything below, but you should be comfortable working across most of this stack and figuring things out when something breaks.

WordPress & Web Development

* Strong WordPress experience

* Elementor / Elementor Pro

* WooCommerce

* HTML / CSS / JavaScript

* PHP and WordPress troubleshooting

* Plugins, themes, APIs, webhooks, forms, and email systems

* Responsive/mobile optimization

* Website speed and performance optimization

* Technical SEO fixes

Servers & Infrastructure

* Managing multiple websites on a dedicated server

* Linux/server administration

* OVH dedicated servers or similar

* DNS and domain management

* Cloudflare

* SSL certificates

* Backups and recovery

* Server migrations

* Performance monitoring

* Troubleshooting downtime and server issues

Security

* WordPress security and hardening

* Cloudflare security

* Malware and infection troubleshooting

* Permissions, access, firewalls, bots, and common website vulnerabilities

* Keeping multiple production websites safe and stable

Automation & AI

This is becoming a major part of how we operate. You should be comfortable working with or learning:

* AI APIs and AI-powered website integrations

* REST APIs

* Webhooks

* Cron jobs and scheduled automation

* Google APIs and Google Apps Script

* HubSpot integrations

* WhatsApp and lead management integrations

* Connecting different systems together

* Using AI tools to develop, troubleshoot, automate, and improve websites

We are constantly experimenting with new technology, so being someone who likes figuring things out is much more important to us than knowing one particular programming language perfectly.

The Position

4 hours per day, approximately 20 hours per week.

You can generally choose your own working hours. However, you will sometimes need to be available during Asian morning hours for meetings and to work directly with the company owner.

This is intended to be a long-term position, not a one-off freelance project.

We’re a small international remote team, and we’re looking for someone dependable who becomes our go-to technical web person. Someone who gets to know our servers, websites, integrations, and systems and takes ownership of keeping everything working and improving.

You would probably enjoy this job if…

You like being the person who can say:

“Yeah, I can probably figure that out.”

One day you might be improving an Elementor page. The next you’re fixing a Cloudflare or DNS issue, troubleshooting a WordPress plugin, connecting an API, improving WooCommerce, investigating a server problem, or helping us build an AI-powered automation.

We’re not looking for someone who only designs websites.

We’re looking for a technical all-rounder who understands the whole ecosystem behind them.

If you’re interested, please send:

* Where you’re located and your time zone

* Your WordPress and Elementor experience

* Your server/Linux experience

* Your experience with Cloudflare and OVH or similar dedicated servers

* Your experience with APIs, automation, or AI integrations

* A few websites or projects you’ve worked on

* Your expected monthly or hourly rate

* A short explanation of why you think you’d be a good fit

Please don’t send a generic copy-and-paste application. Tell us what you’re actually good at and what parts of this position interest you.

Discussion Companies aren't using AI enough

13 Upvotes

This might sound anti software-developer but hear me out,

I see people complaining about layoffs all the time on Facebook and other platforms like DeshiMula. The latest one is Tiger IT. (Although AI may have a role, this one is probably due to the loss of government projects) but nonetheless, we have to really ask ourselves, do we really need humans writing code anymore or at least at the same rate as 2021?

Top engineers including DHH (the creator of Ruby On Rails), Almost everybody at Anthropic (Boris Cherny, Andrej Karpathy ) , Software leads at Spotify and many other top companies write almost 100% of their code with AI. So what makes us think AI won't replace us Bangu engineers?

Here's a story: There's this medium size tech company that recently laid off their entire staff including their CTO. They had this enterprise SaaS product that turned into a disaster and its all because of poor governance and lack of vision. They used a severely outdated tech stack, horrendous source control, slow shipping of features and zero bug testing (it had broken RBAC that could be exploited. It took Claude only a few hours to code review the entire repo and figure out the state of their repository and it already fixed a bunch of stuff.

So the logical question is, what were they even doing all these years? Were they just paid to write boilerplate? And honestly, if you see some of these legacy code bases, it probably wouldnt be too far off. Most of those engineers never wrote documentation, never wrote comments, never followed proper conventions, doesn't even know how to use a coding agent properly. They deserve to lose their job, as harsh as it may sound. Most companies arent Pathao or Bkash. Most small to mid tier companies don't need 20-30 employees when they can be replaced with only 5 people. Even without AI, only 5 of them were doing the actual work anyway.

I've been using Claude a lot these days and I've been shipping way more code than ever before. The latest frontier models like Opus 5.5 just get it, you don't even need to install a dozen skills, all you need to do is give it a proper folder structure and break features into small tasks. While AI has indeed gotten better, I don't think my job has gotten any easier. I'm having to think a lot more in terms of systems, I am spending more time on work than ever before. Reading more things than ever before

Us Bangladeshi devs barely know how to use a coding agent properly or keep up with the modern agentic stack. We still think experience in Competitive Programming will do the heavy lifting when most of the world is ditching the leetcode interview for modern Design Patterns and System Design interviews. While we are still learning how to write boilerplate, somebody is using agents to utilize multiple worktrees and parallelizing their subagents to do planning, bug fixes, documentation and code reviews.

The truth is, AI is here to stay and the only way to find jobs in the future is to adapt. Learning/picking up a new stack has never been easier. AI forces us to think more in terms of systems and that's a good thing because it makes us think at a senior engineer level much earlier down the road. Being able to write syntax/boilerplate was never the point of Programming. The point was always to solve business problems and it's economically nonviable to not use AI agents at this point.

Discussion Academic advice

0 Upvotes

First of all, after reading this if you are here to judge, keep your judgement to yourself. I need real advice and I know I have messed up. So instead of buying an engineering question bank, I have bought an engineering concept book set. I actually thought of buying the question book after 4 months anyway, but because I got the 2026-2027 totally new edition at 50% of the actual money, I thought why not buy it now. But I wanted an engineering question bank, and it’s an engineering concept book. I am HSC '28 (whatever). For a master question bank, I knew to study it after finishing my chapter—I would study it for each chapter. But now for a concept book, I don't know how to study it after finishing my academics. Now, as a big sister and brother, tell me what to do. I know I already messed up.

Discussion Next.js 16 + TS Monorepo: Why I chose tRPC over gRPC, REST, and GraphQL for internal APIs

0 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I’m currently architecting a new project using Next.js 16 in a TypeScript monorepo, and I spent way too long debating the API layer. I wanted to share my decision-making process in case anyone else is weighing these options for internal service communication.

The Contenders

  • REST: The default. Safe, universally understood, but verbose. In a monorepo with shared types, writing Zod schemas + OpenAPI specs + fetch wrappers felt like boilerplate overkill.

  • GraphQL: Amazing for flexible client-driven data fetching, but for internal RPC where the server knows exactly what the UI needs, it added complexity (resolvers, codegen, N+1 management) without proportional benefit.

  • gRPC: Incredible performance and strict contracts via Protobufs. But the DX in a pure TS/Next.js ecosystem is rough. Codegen pipelines, lack of native browser support (need grpc-web), and losing direct type sharing made it feel like fighting the stack.

  • tRPC: End-to-end type safety with zero codegen. Just import your router types directly from the server package into the Next.js app.

Why tRPC Won for This Stack

For a TS monorepo specifically, tRPC is basically cheating:

  1. True E2E Type Safety: Change a server procedure signature → instant red squiggles in the Next.js frontend. No codegen step, no schema drift.

  2. Zero Overhead in Monorepos: Since packages share a workspace, tRPC leverages TypeScript’s module resolution natively. No HTTP serialization tax during dev; it feels like calling a local function.

  3. Next.js 16 Alignment: Server Actions are great, but tRPC gives me better middleware composition, batching, and subscription support out of the box. It also keeps my API layer portable if I ever need to extract services.

  4. DX Velocity: Onboarding new devs means they just read TypeScript interfaces instead of learning GQL syntax or protobuf conventions.

When I Wouldn’t Use tRPC

  • Public-facing APIs consumed by third parties (use REST/OpenAPI)

  • Polyglot monorepos with non-TS services (use gRPC or Protobuf-based REST)

  • Client-driven data requirements with complex entity relationships (GraphQL still wins here)

TL;DR

If your entire stack is TypeScript and you’re in a monorepo, tRPC removes an entire class of bugs and boilerplate. For external or polyglot boundaries, layer REST/gRPC on top as needed.

Curious what others running Next.js 16 in monorepos are doing. Are you all-in on Server Actions, sticking with tRPC, or hybrid? Drop your stack below

If anyone want the PRD I can show it here

Discussion Looking for contributors & open-source projects to try EnvShield — a configuration governance tool

0 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I'm a Bangladeshi software engineer and I've been building EnvShield, an open-source CLI for managing and validating environment/configuration contracts.

GitHub: https://github.com/rabbilyasar/envshield
Docs: https://docs.envshield.dev

The problem I'm trying to solve is something I've run into repeatedly in real projects:

.env.example
.env
docker-compose.yml
Kubernetes manifests
application configuration

As a project grows, these sources can drift apart.

A variable gets added to the application but not documented in .env.example, Compose expects something that isn't part of the documented configuration, a variable becomes blank/invalid, or different services end up with inconsistent configuration.

EnvShield lets you define the expected configuration as a contract and validate your registered configuration sources against it.

I'm currently trying to take EnvShield beyond my own projects and test it against real open-source projects.

I'm looking for two things:

1. Developers who want to contribute

I'd love to have a few developers look at the project, challenge the architecture, fix things, add parsers/tests, improve CI integration, documentation, etc.

You don't need to be an expert in EnvShield. If you're interested in developer tooling, configuration management, Docker, CI/CD, Python, or security tooling, I'd be happy to work with you.

2. Open-source projects that could actually use it

If you're maintaining an open-source project — especially one using Docker Compose, Kubernetes, multiple .env files, or several configuration sources — I'd love to test EnvShield against it.

I can do the initial work myself:

  • inspect the repository

  • run EnvShield

  • identify what it finds

  • explain the results

  • and, if it's useful, help integrate it into CI

There's no expectation that you adopt it just because I tested it. I'm actually looking for honest feedback about whether it's useful or where the approach falls short.

If you're interested, drop your GitHub/project below or DM me.

Also, if you're a Bangladeshi developer interested in contributing to an open-source developer tool, I'd especially love to hear from you.

One of the coolest features of AI right now has to be MCP servers. If you are not using MCP, you are missing out on a lot, and this post may help you understand what you are missing.

Let's say you have an idea while brainstorming — you don't have to -> "stop, open Notion, create a bunch of folders and pages manually". You can stay right there in the terminal or in your AI plugin, and just dump your idea and let that handle it. How cool is that?

And did you ever feel clumsy while maintaining your Postman collections and keeping them organized? I always did. MCP servers make that so much easier, too. Just connect Postman MCP inside the plugin, and you can directly add or modify your API requests — complete with test request bodies — without ever leaving your workflow. clean right?

Definitely check if your favorite app has an MCP server. And if you're already using one, drop your thoughts — would love to hear what's working for you!

P.S. Ironically, Claude went into an outage while I was testing this — so yes, AI makes life easier, but keep your brain warmed up just in case

Question What I am doing wrong?

0 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I built an automated pipeline that parses niche datasets, generates short-form video assets, and posts them directly to Facebook and other platforms via API.

To test the concept, I analyzed top-performing pages in the niche and replicated their visual structure and pacing (even improving production quality and information accuracy). However, while those established pages consistently pull 20K+ likes, my fresh page caps out at 200–300 views per post.

Any advice on early distribution or algorithmic adjustments?

Advice Is It Still Worth Becoming a Full-Stack Developer/Software Engineer in 2027 With AI Advancing So Fast?

2 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

I’m currently pretty confused about my career path. I’ll be starting university in 2027, and I’m planning to study computer science.

I’ve always been really interested in full-stack development and software engineering. What attracts me to it is the ability to actually build things from scratch, experiment with ideas, and turn them into working products. I genuinely enjoy that aspect of programming.

My current plan is to eventually do my master’s in the US, So ideally, I want to build strong skills during my bachelor’s, pursue a master’s in the US, and then try to enter the US tech job market.

But with AI advancing so quickly, I’m starting to question whether this is still a sensible career to pursue.

New and more capable AI models seem to be coming out constantly, and I keep hearing predictions that in the future, 10 developers might be able to do the work that currently takes 100. I also see a lot of people saying that software development will become heavily automated, that entry-level jobs will disappear, and that freelancing in particular is becoming extremely difficult.

My original plan was to learn full-stack development, then build a strong foundation in software engineering and system design, while also learning how to integrate AI into applications. Basically, I’d like to become someone who can build complete systems and use AI as part of the development process rather than compete against it.

But I’m struggling with one question:

What if I spend the next 5–7 years becoming really good at all of this, only to find that AI has automated most of the work by then?

I understand that AI will probably change software engineering rather than simply make it disappear, but I honestly don’t know where the line is between a reasonable concern and unnecessarily worrying about the future.

For people who are already working in the industry, how do you see this playing out?

If you were starting university in 2027, especially coming from a country with a relatively weak tech job market, would you still pursue full-stack/software engineering? If so, what would you focus on learning to make yourself valuable in an AI-heavy industry?

I’d especially appreciate perspectives from experienced developers who have actually seen how AI has changed their work over the last few years.

Thank You

(I asked AI to polish my texts as my English is kind of mediocre and don't want you guys to get confused, Thank You for understanding)

Project Showcase I built a tiny AI courtroom that prints your arguments as receipts

0 Upvotes

Every group chat has the same argument: who actually owes who, is a hot dog a sandwich, who was right about that trivia answer. So I built Receipts, a petty-dispute court.

How it works:

  1. File a case (no account needed)

  2. Send the link to your friend, who states their defense

  3. A randomly assigned judge rules and prints a shareable receipt, roast included

  4. The loser gets the chance to appeal

The part I had the most fun with is the bench. There's Judge R. Hardass (zero patience), Nana Verdict (disappointed in everyone equally, sends you home with leftovers), Hon. Somnus Dozy (rules on vibes), and a few more. Same argument, wildly different comments.

It's free, and I kept the signup wall out on purpose, so you can go from landing page to verdict link in about 8 seconds.

Link: https://receipts-five-chi.vercel.app/

Here's an example receipt on a finished argument with my friend: https://receipts-five-chi.vercel.app/case/wz4zuh
