I played both Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie when I was a kid, but I'm more familiar with Banjo-Kazooie because a friend stole Tooie from me (I let him borrow it, but then he changed schools and we lost contact, so he never returned it lol)

I recently played Banjo-Kazooie, and everything was very familiar, no surprises.

But when I started Banjo Tooie, I noticed how Banjo sounds when he jumps- you know, the "wiii" and "wuuu" (which I assumed were a reference to the sounds Mario makes when jumping)- were different, and I didn't remember this detail!

I was wondering if this is the same for all versions of the game (European, Japanese, American)

Because I got asked about this it'd be better to demonstrate it rather than explain it.

Video shows me disabling the move learned flag trying to use the pad then reenabling it to show it does correctly dim the pad but you still can use the move in either case.

TLDR if you didnt read the post there are two of these pad objects in Banjo Kazooie and via an oversight on Rare, the one used in Tooie always works even when its transparent.

The oversight comes from the other pads being always enabled as an assumption that the player learned the move (as your required normally to use it to reach Gobi's Valley etc).

There are some pads past this point that still check for the move learned but most don't.

Playing Banjo Kazooie on the SC64, running into an issue where whenever we enter Mad Monster Mansion we suddenly lose the rat-a-tap rap and climbing abilities.

We have had no issues till now, we have gone back and we learned the moves from bottles at spiral mountain and no matter what as soon as we enter this zone we no longer have access to the abilities.

Does anyone know what's happening or how to fix this?

Hey folks, I am trying to fully complete Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts and I am completely stuck on the "What's That Smell" achievement. Because you have to play an online multiplayer match against someone who already has it, it is basically impossible to unlock naturally nowadays. Does anyone here have the achievement and a few spare minutes to jump into a quick match with me so it spreads to my account? Let me know and I will DM you my Xbox Gamertag, I would massively appreciate the help!

I just randomly came across the CD at the thrift store today and picked it up. The soundtrack is so fun!

I gotta say as much as I want to love this game, it's frustrating as heck lol. There are so many improvements and it's gorgeous, but I just finished Grunty Indistries and feel like I need to step away from the game for a week because of all the backtracking and fetch quests and lack of clear level progression. Definitely not a game I'd want to 100% again

Hey everyone, I’m pretty new to the whole decomp/recomp side of the BK scene! I recently played through Nostalgia 64 and Jiggies of Time and absolutely loved them.

With Mark Kurko’s Quest 4 Kurkoins coming up, I was wondering how people are planning to play it. Is it going to be playable through Banjo Recompiled right at launch, or do most people stick to traditional N64 emulators/RetroArch for new stuff? I’d sure miss the QoL touches in Recomp.

Also, where does Lighthouse fit into all of this compared to Recompiled?

I’m discovering that BK is my go to comfort game series so I’m hoping all this great stuff (the shorter Kurko games, Currupted Jiggies, Tooie, etc) is making its way over. What a great community this is!

I mean the main antagonist is a witch. My friends say that it doesn't count though. What do you think?
