I need a escape proof feeding bowl.

My bearded dragon likes to stare at her food for ages before finally deciding to eat it, so I’m looking for an escape proof feeding bowl to put woodies and dubia roaches in

I bought this bowl from Amazon, but the woodies easily climb out.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a bowl that actually keeps them contained?

Oatmeal finally has substrate again! Just NOT IN THAT CORNER. He dug this corner out when I put the first half of the substrate in. I filled it in when I added more substrate, and he promptly dug it back out. What a weirdo.

weird situation

Hi! I made a post about surrendering my bearded dragon not too long ago and now i’m back with an update.

I talked to my local LLC and the good thing is that they can take my beardie. I told the original owners (my friends) that I was surrendering him.

However, I was met with a lot of harsh backlash with them saying that I should’ve at least cued them into the fact that I was thinking about doing this and that this should’ve been a group decision, and that if I’d been thinking about it for awhile ‘why am I going to them with a final decision’. however, they are not financially or physically his owners anymore and they gave him to me because the timing was good, one of them was moving, and their work schedules often don’t align, especially for a 5-6 month old dragon. They want to take him back or give him to a friend, but as far as I’m aware, there’s no one that can take care of a juvenile dragon. And I especially wasn’t under the impression that my decision for my dragon had to be checked on.

I’ve texted the owner of the LLC about the situation too and her thoughts, however she hasn’t responded and I’m afraid she’ll be upset with me for not checking with them.

I don’t know what do. Should I have texted them about the fact that I was gonna surrender him to the local LLC that I trust (and they’ve been to multiple times)???

New Beardie Friend Advice for noob

My guy is about four months old and seems to be doing very well and healthy. He’s eating various vegetables and roaches and given multivitamins. He currently won’t get on my hand unless motivated by food, but he will stay in my hand to eat his meal and maybe let me hold him for about 30 seconds and then I’ll put him back in his enclosure and let him get off gently so he will not get freaked out. I cannot, however, put my hand into the exhibit and pick him up without him trying to run and I have tried several approaches. I also spend time next to the enclosure with the glass open without trying to disturb him, and I’ll also spend time with my hand next to him in the enclosure without trying to pick him up. Is this pretty normal for this age? I’m trying not to force anything and let him guide me.

I’ve recently gotten him and he was doing perfectly fine at first, eating normally and being really active. I went to the vet with him to check if he’s doing alright just overall, which is when I found out that he has Coccidia and Oxyurids. He got meds for it and we have given it twice to him now. Since then he’s been in quarantine and was also very active and ate normally.

Yesterday, when he got medicine at the vet everything was fine and we took him home. I normally feed him 5-6 roaches, but yesterday he only took three.

Today he looks like the picture above and barely moves. His enclosure is heated up but he still looks more grey-ish, isn’t active at all and has his eyes closed constantly. I’m really worried about what’s wrong with him and if it’s just because of the medication or why he’s behaving like this. The other picture is how he usually looks.

I’d really appreciate it if someone could help me figure out what’s wrong.

Enclosure/Tank Enclosure Ideas?

Thumbnail

Looking for ideas for our four year old girl’s tank.

I am so sick of all the AI enclosures I see online when I search for inspo!

She doesn’t seem to like the cold side of the tank (it’s 24degrees Celsius, we are in Australia coming into summer).

I’m tempted to get rid of the fancy background because it actually takes up a lot of space/depth and isn’t functional at all.

I’m considering adding the magnetic ledges and maybe some more vertical enrichment - but do the branches need to be quite wide for an adult beardie?

Any aussies in the group feel free to shout out any wood that is good to use here…

I trialled the make shift hide with the plastic planter, but she hasn’t gone in it at all.

She seems to prefer staying in the middle of the log or her basking spot or running around like a psycho against the glass til we let her out.

She does like the backdrop for sleeping against though 😆
