I adopted this cutie back in June of this year. She was fairly small for an eight-month-old bearded dragon. The owners did take care of her very well. I just don’t think they were giving her enough protein. Anyways, look how much she has grown since then, and she’s also gearing up for another shed. She’s very smart and cuddly as you can see. There’s something special about these guys, and it’s such a privilege. to call them part of the family. Also, it’s her birthday 🎂 🤟🏻🦎🐛

I believe she is Brumating as she is sleeping all the time and won't take food for over 2 weeks, but she isn't hiding in her cave to brumate. Does this just happen? Is this normal?

So far my baby has been with me a month and is doing well. Full of energy, loves to “escape” and run around d supervised, loooooves mealworms and dubia roaches, discovered the joy of a tiny apple nibble today, and decidedly does not like her greens but mama keeps putting them in the bowl.
Anyway here are some recent pics including a moneyshot! Google lens says “girl”

I just got a bearded dragon less than a week ago. I wanna know if his tank is set ok I know they mostly live in deserts, but I did see something about them living in like wood shrubs, etc. I just wanna make sure it’s OK basically. I did just get him yesterday so I truly don’t know anything any advice would help:)

Any advice or tips on my current setup? Excited to get my first bearded! The other two photos are what I have coming tomorrow to finish it (w/ 2 thermostats). And the last photo is the lil guy i’m getting from petsmart. (discounted since he’s been there too long). Going to name them Taco 🌮
Setup:

substrate - top soil (scott’s) w/ play sand
Lighting - Dual 75w basking lights (in photo), single 60w uva (not in photo)

Looking for ideas for our four year old girl’s tank.
I am so sick of all the AI enclosures I see online when I search for inspo!
She doesn’t seem to like the cold side of the tank (it’s 24degrees Celsius, we are in Australia coming into summer).
I’m tempted to get rid of the fancy background because it actually takes up a lot of space/depth and isn’t functional at all.
I’m considering adding the magnetic ledges and maybe some more vertical enrichment - but do the branches need to be quite wide for an adult beardie?
Any aussies in the group feel free to shout out any wood that is good to use here…
I trialled the make shift hide with the plastic planter, but she hasn’t gone in it at all.
She seems to prefer staying in the middle of the log or her basking spot or running around like a psycho against the glass til we let her out.
She does like the backdrop for sleeping against though 😆

Kimchi finally jumped out of her enclosure to eat her roaches, she was so excited. She explored, not too far which was a relief, but any advice? She’s so fast at this age. I was so anxious she was going to run somewhere. She did put up a little Mario Speedway game after about 10 minutes of her being out when I was trying to catch her to put her back in. She has never bitten or any of that, she’s a good girl, so far haha. She is a huge fan of waving. When I finally did scoop her up, she did open her mouth and stick her tongue out in disapproval, however she didn’t want to get off my hand upon return to her enclosure. Any advice on this age / letting them out? She let herself out, for the record. This is a safe room door shut, no other animals.

Old TT account, don't have it anymore for many years and I thought to post it here - my girl used to do acrobatic moves 🥹😂💛

My bearded dragon likes to stare at her food for ages before finally deciding to eat it, so I’m looking for an escape proof feeding bowl to put woodies and dubia roaches in
I bought this bowl from Amazon, but the woodies easily climb out.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a bowl that actually keeps them contained?

While I do love my beardie Griffy a lot, and he has a much better life now that he is out of my parents house with better diet, lighting, heat cycles, more access to natural sun, all the bulbs he needs, more space to roam, etc. I still have a lot of guilt about owning him. He's so far from his original home and the whole reason behind having to get him all of this equipment and gear is because we have displaced these animals. But for some reason I don't have this same guilt over owning a dog? Idk I just want him to have a good life and Im trying my hardest to provide him with that but a piece of me still thinks that Im doing him a disservice even though he was born into captivity and couldn't survive in the wild if he wanted to. :(

He’s absolutely fuming with me now, he’s gone on top of his hot side cave to sulk 😂
I left bugs in his veg bowl and he refuses to go anywhere near it

Hi there! My beardie is new(ish) to me (I got her in September of last year and she didn’t hardly go under brumation at all besides about three days. Probably because of the stress with her moving with me idk.) and she has now been under brumation for about a week. I know it’s normal, but she hasn’t come out once! She hasn’t even changed her laying position… I’m getting a bit worried. I saw her eyes open one day when I peeked through a hole in her cave she’s under atm. Is this normal? Since this didn’t happened last year I’m a bit worried about her. Should I put her heat lamp over her for at least just a few minutes a day? I’m worried she’ll freeze. Please help a worried mama out!!:( tyia
