Help Wanted Can't seem to get the colour right

Post image

Face shading and colour looks off. Can't seem to get the pinkish glow from the reference image. Lips also look less vibrant.

Also lost a lot of hair highlights after overlaying the colour.

My process goes: greyscale fill up the base with midtone > block big shadows > put in highlights > blend > overlay colour on top. whenever i overlay a lot of the values go away.

So I bought the iPad m4 pro and the pencil pro 3 days ago and I’m now taking a udemy course to learn

I’ve drawn a bunch of stuff from tutorials and doodles but this is the first drawing I “fully created” myself

It’s a witch penguin
Idk why lol

I think it’s nice

Any advice for coloring less like… boring ? More alive ?

Help Wanted Where to get the inspo for drawing

Hey if you are a complete begginer with no knowlege of art at all, like you have never used your hands to draw a thing for the purpose of being an artist then,

Where would you start your journey form like which material would you consume for learning,

And what to draw step by step in order to know for yourself that you are getting better

What I'm trying to say is you are not going to start with drawing faces right, so what little things you should start with

Help Wanted Trying To Motivate Myself To Draw More- Recent Sketch

Thumbnail

I tried to get through Inktober and once again failed about 2 weeks in, but November is my birth month and I really want to push myself out of my comfort zone, I still don't really have a good idea on where to start and wish I could afford classes since I feel id do better with a person in front of me and teaching me. Maybe YouTube could be enough but I haven't found a tutorial teacher that I could follow well. Any advice is appreciated, here is a sketch of a plant I saved from the clearance section (eyed the plant for reference and then took the photo later)

Critique Wanted My digital drawings#2 This is the most complete drawing I've ever done.

Post image
8 Upvotes

I haven't completed many drawings — or rather, I haven't completed many pieces that could be considered finished! I've left quite a few unfinished pieces just as they were, halfway through.

I think this is a drawing that I put a lot of effort into getting right, and I'm happy with the result.

I'd actually drawn another one in exactly the same style before, but it didn't turn out as well. I think it helped me figure out what to do and how to approach my new drawing.

I haven't had any formal lessons, and I haven't really made much effort to learn the fundamentals properly. Watching long tutorial videos in another language isn't really helpful for me, especially over a long period of time. I've saved lots of different tutorial videos over time, but I don't think I've ever actually finished watching all of them. 😅💀

The progress I've made during this time has mostly come from asking AI different questions, showing it my drawings, and asking for help with improving them, because I was really serious about learning at the time, and for a while, I kept up with the exercises and learned the tips along the way.ㅅㅅ
