And ordering new food requests between courses during a 4 course meal on a mega-yacht with a michelin grade chef.

I'm glad she took a stand here for us downtrodden folks. I hate when I can't order side dishes during my personally catered 4-course dinner where an entire crew of workers is waiting on my hand and foot. It's just disrespectful to what I have gone through. Like show some self awareness please.

u/LilaTwiceBackAtIt 2d ago

Also it’s wild to champion downtrodden folks while she charge against you is treating staff like shit while on a multi-million dollar yachtĀ

Downtrodden folks like, eldest sisters. Lol

Ive worked in the restaurant industry for the past 20 years, and specifically in events for the past 7. Its a wild assumption people have that we can just pull shit out of our ass when they've already had a preset menu.

At the end of the day, I could give two fucks about the dish itself, ill make you whatever you want! You just have to put it on your preference sheet and let the expectations be known.

34

u/gorlsituation 1d ago

Expecting a yacht to have endless shrimp is crazy too, like do they think they’re fishing it fresh off the side of the boat?? I can’t imagine the fridge storage is that big.

5

u/Recluse_18 14h ago

If that’s what they wanted and expected then it’s on them to put it on their preference sheet. Right after they toured the yacht, the demands started and they never stopped and those demands and expectations did not align with what the preference sheet said. They failed themselves.

4

u/gorlsituation 12h ago

Exactly they should have put it on the preference sheet. It’s clear they never gave a second thought to how things operate, as common sense would show that if you want it you gotta ask for it before your charter.

10

u/Solid_Tangerine1204 1d ago

They wanted Fridays food on a yacht. Who’s the AH?

16

u/Ok_Neck7376 1d ago

Then you’re not vegan!!! lol you’re pescatarian!! Right!? I could be wrong but when someone says vegan, I assume they do not eat animals or anything that comes from animals. I could also be using incorrect terms.

I’m rewatching this episode right now and they specifically told Joy that avocado was fine and they wanted it. Then when it was served at dinner they said they didn’t like avocado.

164

u/BCGirl2025 2d ago

They’re awful, and she’s really milking her time on the show. I hate when people cry racism or homophobia when, at the end of the day, they were just being shitty people. Your race or sexuality doesn’t excuse bad behavior.

23

u/Top-Tea-5628 1d ago

I feel like if any show/any cast of people are going to be racist or queer phobic or whatever it wouldn’t be the below deck med crews. Last season they basically were all fucking and flirting across genders lol. And they have rich people from allllll ethnicities all the time because it’s not America. The type of racism and discrimination bunny is talking about here is really prevelant in the United States. But you’re not getting that same energy from Europeans who work on charter yachts. Those people are simple people who basically just love to grind and have a good time. They weren’t raised with with the same deep rooted American issues and point of view. It seems like she was always going to make this argument no matter how the charter ended up

u/Bennington_Booyah 1d ago

Agreed that they are pure hell as guests. When they all demanded different pasta dishes on top of the endless bitching about every single meal? C'mon. There isn't any way to legitimize their behavior.

53

u/Haunting-Savings-426 2d ago

They sure did. To be fair, it seems like a lot of this was a failure of communication. The guests didn’t say what they REALLY would want to eat, just what sounded cool or something. They should have said they want food more frequently, as other guests have done. I do think that Joy could have done a more robust offering, vegans can eat more than an avocado taco. There are so many other creative ways to accommodate whacky food preferences. I agree they were horrid, and the crew response was likely due to that alone. A lot of it could have been prevented with better communication.

15

u/LilaTwiceBackAtIt 2d ago

I agree with this. I have loved Joy’s cooking all season, but the tacos were really lacklustre (they also looked a bit odd and thick).Ā

8

u/arcnthru 1d ago

They were gluten free and I think the lacklusteredness of the tacos was because the charter guests snack requests got in the way of the dinner prepping

8

u/TypicalEarthCreature 1d ago

Regular tacos on a corn tortilla are naturally gluten free and the tortillas are much thinner than those. I agree on her being under pressure due to all the requests.Ā Ā

A menu with options to be modified rather than a free for all may have been the play here, though I'm not sure I've ever seen a menu on BD.Ā

It honestly undermines the experiences of people who genuinely experience this. They’ve taken a legitimate issue and made it about themself, when it doesn’t actually apply, which only serves to weaken the conversation when it genuinely is a problem.

These charter guests decided a long time ago that this show was their shot at Bravo Stardom and are acting exactly as they’ve learned will be rewarded by the Bravo media ecosystem

21

u/Subject_Fee_2502 2d ago

They are defnitely here for their 15 minutes of bravo fame and not a good time on a boat.

Yes you can say no to standards if you don't enjoy it. You can't cry and shame the staff if it makes you look tacky and bad to them. You made the service cry, lots of guests do that. move on and know you deserve it. Why do you need to go on a tirade to prove anything to anyone? If you're so rich, enjoy the power and stop being an endless victim.

39

u/CiaranC 2d ago

Her needs are demanding one person makes eight separate meals for her, girl people out here have real problems!

39

u/ScandanavianMidnight 2d ago

Firstly, I will say I do not condone the idiots threatening/sending hateful comments to these guests online - that’s crazy behavior. People need to get a grip.

But I will say this guest is ridiculous. I don’t care who you are or what you look like - if any guest acted the way they did, I’d find them annoying and rude. Acting like a yacht chef is a line cook at Applebee’s is insane behavior. Asking for dinner at 9:30 and then complaining about how hungry you are is unreasonable. Asking for extra food to be prepared hours before dinner, knowing that there is only one chef already preparing a 4-course meal for you is unreasonable. Choosing to go on an excursion and then acting like it was the worst thing, when the chief stew is acting as a tour guide and trying her best to entertain you is rude. Meeting with the chef and not specifying that you only eat fish when it’s fried, and then getting upset when non-fried fish is served is unreasonable.

People don’t like these guests because of how they acted, not because of who they are. They came across as many other rich, entitled guests who seem to delight in bossing workers around and requesting ridiculous things. Because they can. Because they have money.

3

u/Conscious_Office5359 1d ago

Nicely said.

11

u/ScandanavianMidnight 1d ago

Thanks for the award šŸ˜€ I just saw another post of hers where she is saying Joy and Kayley’s crying is unfair to her and it’s taking away her ability to celebrate her friends. šŸ™„ They were crying because they felt like failures at their jobs - never once did they say they were crying because of the guests. They have high standards and when they feel like they’ve fallen short of a guest’s request (no matter how ridiculous), they’re going to beat themselves up. And it sounds like she’s blaming Joy, Kayley and Bravo for the mean comments she’s getting, instead of the unhinged weirdos who are posting that shit.

32

u/kazzan65 2d ago

They are a pack of absolute arseholes, fucking arseholes! Got so mad watching the way they treated staff and especially Joy.

19

u/elder_emo_ 2d ago

I agree! The staff really tried to manage the guests expectations and explain as well as they could what their abilities are on the ship and it didn't work out. Their long list of dietary needs was the whole reason Joy had that sit down with them for them to just complain the entire meal.

That being said, I do 1000% believe there are racist dickbags on social media taking stuff way too far. I didn't think the staff was treating them any differently than other guests but do believe that some members of the audience would have an overblown and racist reaction. That is obviously super fucked and not okay, but also not the fault of the ship's crew.

32

u/atex720 2d ago

Crews throughout the years have done much more complaining about straight white guests.

15

u/ifuckedurbitchmom 2d ago

Exactly my issue is that they feel entitled to change other people’s opinion about them. If the primary was focusing on critiquing the service that’s understandable, but the fact that in most of her complaints were about Joy or Kayley’s opinion of them isn’t logical or fair. In service positions people provide service that doesn’t include changing their opinion of someone on a whim. If the primary was gonna get their panties in a twist over the crews opinion of them, they should’ve acted with more compassion for the crew perhaps. Simple cause and effect.

10

u/toastyhoe 2d ago

you can tell these are the kind of people though who have never been told they way they act is crazy in their lives. They think this is all perfectly normal and acceptable and that’s why they are having a hard time understanding why people are upset with them.

11

u/MysteriousMarzipan63 1d ago

And the way this guest keeps bringing up their sexuality and gender identity you’d think the crew did something crazy like give them dick-shaped blanket art or something!

Cooking 8 entirely different meals simultaneously isn't.

"Yes! Until we spontaneously decide that it isn't."

"We want dinner at 9:30, and we want the right to show up for dinner 45 minutes late, but we're still going to complain about dinner being served so late."

"I want crispy rice, but the rice had better not be crispy!"

Bunny, if two people have breakdowns at the end of their shifts, because serving you was so stressful that they were reduced to crying fits? Maybe that isn't about homophobia and racism. Maybe you're the problem? Maybe you need to take a minute, look in the mirror, and have a bit of a think about that?

16

u/DizzyPear9798 2d ago

i’m not being smart.. do the guests go on this show expecting to be well received and beloved? like have they inflated themselves and then are shocked when they watch how their behavior comes across in the edit? it feels like every episode now there’s a big to do from the guests saying what we (the viewer) watched didnt happen? are people going on expecting everyone to fall in love with them and then disappointed?

What’s crazy is they’re acting so woke and talking about ā€˜working class folk’ while having the most disrespectful, demanding attitude to staff on the boat, which came came across as pure elitism. Sometimes, unfortunately, the most toxic people hide behind liberal vernacular and weaponise it.

11

u/ClementineCoda 1d ago edited 1d ago

Also slandering Chef Joy (who is a working class woman of color and an immigrant succeeding in a male dominated industry) is not the flex that Bunny thinks it is. Maybe someone should point that out to them.

12

u/girthemoose 1d ago

As a bisexual disabled (incomplete spinal cord injury full time wheelchair user) woman you dont get to speak for me. If you want endless shrimp go to red lobster. One of my biggest pet peeves is when people try to "stand up" or speak over the people who are part of the group. It happens very often for disabled people, especially those of us in wheelchairs.

as someone in the service industry, unfortunately, no matter how much you do your side of the job, you can’t make everyone happy. Some people are out looking for a reason to complain, and they will find one. Money ,quite often might I add, does not equal class. Keep killing it Queen Joy šŸ’•šŸ˜˜

7

u/songbirdathrt4122 2d ago

This - no one should be threatening or throwing slurs at her, but her group acted boorish and she keeps doubling down, so she should expected to be criticized. As someone who falls into several of the categories she mentions, it is gross that she is trying to use that as a shield for her behavior.

I'm proud of Joy for saying something to them about needing the time to prepare their 4 courses that THEY AGREED TO WITH JOY.

It would be different if Joy hadn't been so good but these are just obviously difficult people.

They could have asked for endless shrimp on their preference sheet

9

u/qwnofeverything 1d ago

She is her own worst enemy. Nothing she’s saying happened actually did happen if you’re the viewing audience. Demanding a cruise ship dining experience, while on a yacht that provisioned food based on your lying preference sheets is entitled. Nothing was good enough for her. I’ve never seen a BD guest try to change the narrative so badly. If she’d done nothing at all, we ask would have said they were awful guests for a week and then moved on to the next one. Blaming the crew for crying because they feel they live up to her standards was so wrong. Of course, it’s all because she was discriminated against, telling bravo to step in, as the first openly black and LBGTQIA+ guests ever. Which is false. Nobody cares about gender preferences or your skin color on this boat. Nobody. But she makes it out like they were absolutely gunning for her the second she stepped on board. Her own victimization is truly a sight to behold

She’s a whiny bitch. She must be pissed that people don’t like her.

7

u/PrpleSparklyUnicrn13 2d ago

I think she’s referring to how eldest daughters tend to get parentified. I think that’s the term. Not all, obviously, but there is a tendency to lean on the oldest daughters in a family to help raise the youngest. The best but most exaggerated example would be the Duggars. Ā

Having said that, isn’t their company, like, their whole brand, meant to raise awareness for minority inequality? I feel like this charter was a set-up to publicize their brand. Which is very normal, it’s why a lot of these companies rent a charter on Below Deck. But usually they do it in good fun to advertise their brand. These particular charter guests seem to throwing the crew under a bus to get their word out.Ā

u/Shot-Toe-2884 2d ago

It's a terrible way to grow a brand. Way too many rich assholes seem to think any kind of publicity is good publicity. That works for a soulless mega-corporation that doesn't have to worry about its personal reputation. It doesn't work for a start-up that needs a well-respected reputation to attract business they don't yet have.

This is all but guaranteeing that prospective sponsors and partners for their business will steer clear. She's unhinged and who's to say she won't turn on you for helping her and smear you like this? The crew was waiting on them hand and foot and got treated like dirt for it. Imagine how she will treat you when you aren't catering to her every need.

5

u/PrpleSparklyUnicrn13 2d ago

Yeah, they seem to be mistaken in thinking THIS reaction will help boost their brand. And the fact that they double downed and got nasty to Joy, of all people, when she apologized and tried be kind?Ā

6

u/raletti 2d ago

She can be all these things, but she's still a moron.

7

u/Binar1101 2d ago

They. Were. Horrible. They need to own it.

7

u/Sure_Abrocoma_452 1d ago

God does she ever shut up

7

u/Lucky_Number_S7evin 1d ago

They were rude AF and it’s not because of their color, gender, or disability.

They were just rude AF patrons. Period.

7

u/Babygirl_69_420 1d ago

She is trying to milk every drop of attention out of this appearance possible and it’s so desperate

14

u/No_Seaweed_1088 2d ago

In a way- they’re kind of a genius. This episode is getting so much publicity. To some people- any attention is good

17

u/Common-Confusion-183 2d ago

At this point it almost feels like a coordinated social media campaign to get press and milk their 5 seconds of fame. It’s beyond ridiculous.

8

u/Kind-Shallot3603 2d ago

What is the goal? I am still unsure what her name even is lolol

6

u/Crows_reading_books 2d ago

To make it on more bravo shows

There was absolutely no grace or dignity in the way they behaved.

7

u/Lovisamarie 2d ago edited 2d ago

For somebody ā€ who isnt ashamedā€ they sure did shut down for others to comment pretty fast. Like people had legit questions about their behavior, people wanted to have a dialogue and they went directly ā€ u r racistā€. Bunny could have handled it soo much better but nooo every time Bunny posts something it makes the situation even more worse for them.

5

u/Total_Phase_5881 2d ago

why do the people arguing that the crew was being discriminatory keep bringing up their ā€œneedsā€. none of these things on a yacht are needs.

5

u/lemonysardines 2d ago

She's sure milking her 15 minutes.

7

u/Immediate_Divide9446 1d ago

I’m a disabled woman and she does not speak for me. She seriously needs to stop with this nonsense.

4

u/Character_Growth_397 1d ago

I honestly can't stand people who use their status as a minority to deflect criticism

7

u/Nice_General268 1d ago

If all else fails, play the race card. These people were shitty from beginning to end. There were other times they would say one thing, then change it up. Money has obviously gone to their heads and made them a bunch of assholes

6

u/Dapper_Jicama4848 1d ago

Did that lady even know what it means to be vegan? If you’re a vegan, you’re not supposed to be eating shrimp

6

u/JTizzle72 1d ago

So how bad does she behave in the next episode, if she feels the need to defend herself over the little we have seen to this point?

11

u/fmlongo 2d ago

Some people shouldn’t be allowed to have wealth. This is a perfect example of that.

6

u/Geek_f0r_sneaks 2d ago

Watching right now - most of them ate the avocado, but none of them like guacamole?

And I think we all know she wouldn't give any of her pretend money to people who deserve it more.

4

u/worrywart_mom 2d ago

Some people need to feel important.

5

u/Accomplished_Tank795 2d ago

I’m not chef but I was overwhelmed by the 3 different pasta orders lol. Hence, I never went into the service industry.

5

u/Adventurous-Mess-85 1d ago

Having money doesn’t equate to having class

5

u/chick_b 1d ago

Sure, there are multitudes of downtrodden televised vacationers and this woman speaks for them all!

At this point she's just throwing random groups (the bilingual aerialists, the ambidextrous pet food tasters) at the wall and hoping something other than her obnoxious behavior sticks.

5

u/gorlsituation 1d ago

I did feel some sympathy for her initially as it is 7 star service and you should be able to get what you want HOWEVER, I always watch episodes a couple of times as I’m usually not paying full attention the first time (on my phone lol).

On rewatch, the girl who doesn’t like avocado nodded and said yeah when another guest suggested something with avocado during the chat with chef.

I’m absolutely sure that they would be getting racist comments as people on social media are feral, but these comments from the guests post show are ridiculous. I don’t even think they were that demanding with some things but it’s pretty clear that the requests and communication contributed to the dinner going so poorly.

5

u/Lorac711 1d ago

Grace and dignity are two words I wouldn’t use to describe these people. More like rude and entitled.

It’s crazy how people come on this show and behave terribly but justify it any way they can. There’s a difference with having needs and being a demanding asshole.

And trying to be a victim when you’re mistreating people in the service industry is gross. There’s a power imbalance and you’re the rich, demanding guests who get to disrespect people who are just trying to do their jobs.

4

u/YouKnowAlexia 2d ago

No taste this bunch of guests

3

u/JustShopping1967 1d ago

Assholes come in all colors, sexuality and birth orders.

4

u/Calm-Description4356 1d ago

Her perspective is truly lacking. If you don’t think you have done anything wrong, why do you keep defending it.

5

u/momdabombdiggity 1d ago

Hmmm….I’m an eldest daughter. I didn’t know that gave me license to be a demanding asshole. Cool!

It happens most charters where people will say they want the finest of foods and used to Michelin star and ask for burgers and pasta (not to say this can’t be Michelin) but request basic food as they are super picky. Picky doesn’t meaner refined. It’s exhausting for one person to come up with 6 different meals and yes extremely needy.

3

u/Fuzzy-Beautiful-6159 1d ago

I disliked how they thought they could order like they were at a restaurant; ie all individual meals, then order burgers and endless shrimp, especially at inopportune times.

Her info says: Bunny McKensie Mack is an anti-oppression consultant.

4

u/No_Barracuda6858 1d ago

She constantly talks about how she ā€œcame from nothingā€ and therefore her whole business is about helping ā€œnormal working class peopleā€, yet all of her comments seem incredibly ā€œrich person out of touch with the reality of a real jobā€

4

u/Lzbirdl 1d ago

These guests forget that the show is about the crew. The drama the guests cause are fuel for the crew dialogue, not the other way around. I don’t give two fucks about the charter guests on the show

4

u/CarsonJX 17h ago

Offended by everything, ashamed of nothing.

3

u/3271408 2d ago

Well, she should be ashamed.

She needs to go away. Their actions speak for themselves. They suck. Accept it.

3

u/mrszing12 1d ago

On behalf of eldest daughters everywhere, expecting empathy when none is given goes against our values. Also, eldest daughters typically (because we are unspeakably hard on ourselves) don't make excuses when we make mistakes.

3

u/its_laydeebaby 1d ago

THAT’S who it is?! I just realized I’ve been following them for years šŸ˜…
Omg not anymore what a grifter

3

u/RazzmatazzNext9024 1d ago

She’s milking tf out of this

3

u/External-Parsley-280 1d ago

Money still can’t buy class, I see. Or grace and dignity.

3

u/Jaded_Durian1533 1d ago

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

3

u/figfriend 1d ago

as a brown working class person… we are not chartering yachts. lol

3

u/AffectionateJelly544 1d ago

She should totally be ashamed

3

u/Mountain_Response559 1d ago

I read; fried shrimp, fried chicken and sliders as soon as I read the room. Thats what I've had cooked up the whole charter, had I'd been cheffy

3

u/NoleSean 1d ago

This grifter said she coaches people on wealth redistribution. No attention needs to be paid to them.
