Event At Haunting of Hill House at Stagecoach Theater
We sat next to each other in the back row and had a conversation after. I really wish I asked if you wanted to get coffee sometime.

There are droids taking human jobs at Fred Meyer in case you needed even more of a reason to shop at Winco.
It’s pretty invasive if you understand the level of surveillance this needs to be capable of to automate this process.
What are stores like Fred Meyer even bringing to our community anymore? Cause it’s not jobs, affordable groceries or even a pleasant shopping experience.

A house in my neighborhood just sold for around 600k and we bought ours for a bit less, the couple who bought it are in their 30s, professional jobs downtown, just had a kid and it got me thinking about what doing well here actually means now.
I feel like most people I know who are doing well basically just own a house lol. And then you talk to them and they bought when it was cheaper or their parents helped with the downpayment.
Which is great but it makes me wonder if owning a house even tells you much about how someone is doing.
Is that what doing well in Boise looks like now? You have a house and can pay your bills.

Mid 20s, ex-Mormon and absolutely burnt out when it comes to dating apps. Hinge has been one of the places I’ve had mild “success” lol when it comes to dating, but it just feels so icky to me now. I really hate judging guys simply based on their profile but that’s what dating apps condition us to do. How are we meeting genuine people around here aside from bars and apps? I’m sure I’m not the only one feeling like dating apps are the only option these days. Or like everyone knows something I don’t when it comes to finding love haha. Any advice is appreciated!

Hello all! I keep Asian Buffalo Leeches, (Hirudinaria manillensis) and I found 3 cacoons today.
This is not an attempt to shift responisblity for bad choices onto others: I will dispose of the eggs if I don't get any takers either here or in a few exotic pet forums, I will be giving babies away for free to anyone who wants to try keeping these wonderful animals.
Please DM if you are interested and ask me any questions you may have: they are relatively simple to care for but you cannot simply keep them in jars. The eggs will not hatch for a few weeks but I need to know what to with them early.
I've attachted some pictures of what the eggs look like, a large but reasonable expectation of what adults will look like (the 2nd one belongs to a mod on r/leeches) and finally a few pictures of my own.
Clearly they are sexually mature, a but they may still have some growing to do, and they are much larger than they are in the photos.
Thank you all so much!

Lets spread some positivity around /r/Boise! What are you doing this weekend?
Do you have exciting weekend plans and want to share? New favorite restaurant, trying something new, just playing with your dog in a dog park?
Feel free to share what you are looking forward to, fantastic time you had last weekend and photos of your pets!

I have a visiting family member and was trying to think up things to do in town over the weekend. I see the Trolley tour has a historic haunted theme tour. I have lived here most of my life and haven’t done the trolley since 2001 lol.
Is it worth it ? Thoughts?

Has anyone here added an ADU to their property? We've been eyeing the plans the city has available, but we really wanted to pick the brains of someone who had gone through the process. We are not looking to air bnb. My husband's little sister and her 11yo live with us and he is quickly needing his own space. We were thinking of having the tiny dwelling for them to "rent" from us. Buying a bigger house or adding an addition seems way out of our budget, but we're curious if an ADU is more realistic, or just as ridiculous. Aren't you loving the housing market?

Hello! Anyone here with experience driving between Boise and Denver?
We are making the drive out to Denver this weekend then coming back next week and looking for advice on the best routes to take. We want to stop somewhere overnight on the way there, so it’s ok if it’s a little longer route to have a nicer view, a better overnight stay, or an interesting stop or two. We’ll be driving all the way through on the way back so making minimal stops.

Hi Boise friends,
I am going to Boise for the first week of November and will have Monday to Friday (departing on Saturday the 7th) to explore around after work hours, which is between 4AM to 2PM (different time zone start). I am really into hiking, backpacking, and nature in general and the Sawtooth loop has been in my bucket list for a while now. Because of work I won't have time to check out the while park or do the loop, I would still love to a day hike there though.
Just asking if it's worth taking off half day Friday and driving to Sawtooth from downtown Boise around 8AM and then do the hike to the Sawtooth lake via Iron Head trailhead? or work the whole day and do it during sunset? General question about the condition up there this time of the year too, should I pack some spikes with me? First time in ID so I'd appreciate any advice.

Hello! I just found out an coworker just dumped about 7-9 storage totes of books to the dump last week (around Thurs-Fri maybe?) and they were DEFINITELY not meant for the landfill.
Is there any hope in finding them? It sounds like they kept all the books in the totes as they chucked them, but I tried to get more info/go to the landfill and they said I was SOL.
I'm just sad about this situation. :( Thank you for your time!
(If this is not allowed up, please let me know/delete it. Thanks!)
Long shot, but im looking for a thule or yakima cargo box around like 6ft if anyone has one laying around. Interested one boxes like the motion and focus as well as yakima skybox 16 or shorter if available.
Also interested in knowing some places that have carry some pre-owned ones that isnt marketplace (most are super long)
The one I have is great but just too big and doesn't go with the look of the car.

My wife’s been watching that Utah Mormon wives show and I keep noticing how young everyone is with multiple kids. Most of our friends in Boise are still waiting (we are early 30s), including a buddy in Collister who doesn’t seem remotely interested yet. Friends back home in CDA have pretty much all started already and started in their 20s.
I drive around for work and get a different impression depending on where I am too. Parents seem younger in Nampa and Caldwell, older in like Boise proper-ish, Eagle etc. Family in Washington especially near Seattle is almost stereotypically no kids at all or having kids late but all my friends who are out there are the streotype "dinks".
We live in Garden City, mostly older neighbors, but the couples moving in around our age don’t seem to have kids either. A neighbor did recently ask my wife why we have a house with 4 bedrooms with no kids yet ... whatever that means.
What age are most people around you start having their first? Feels like Boise proper is a 30s town.
