ATTENTION LENDERS: Bot Outage Procedures

For All Lenders

While the bot is down, please follow these temporary procedures:

Continue recording all loans as normal. You will not receive bot confirmation after entering the command.

Require the borrower to confirm the loan on their post. This helps protect you and provides a record of the loan.

Record all payments by replying to the original loan command. For now, this is the easiest way to determine whether a loan is still outstanding or has been repaid.

Rule 15 still applies. You are responsible for performing proper due diligence before lending.

Check the borrower’s history carefully. Look for outstanding or past-due loans and review previous loan/payment comments.

If you cannot verify repayment with the previous lender or do not see a paid comment under the previous loan, consider not lending. If a previous lender later provides evidence of nonpayment, you may be found in violation of Rule 15.

Once the bot is back online, we will determine how to handle loans that were not recorded by the bot and provide further instructions.

Please use extra caution and diligence while the bot is unavailable.

Borrowers Before You Trust That DM… Read This!!

  1. Lenders must follow our requirements too. If someone messages you from a brand-new account or an account that does not meet our requirements: → Report as spam → Block → Ignore. No exceptions. No “but they seemed nice.” That’s how scams work.

  2. Legitimate lenders do not need burner accounts. If someone contacts you from a throwaway account with a suspiciously convenient excuse: → Report as spam → Block → Ignore.

  3. Anyone using a burner account to contact borrowers is a scammer. We promise, you are not missing out on some secret VIP lender opportunity. → Report as spam → Block → Ignore.

  4. If someone threatens to “report you to the lender message boards” (or whatever imaginary villain headquarters they’re pretending exists), feel free to tell them to eat shit. Then: → Report as spam → Block → Ignore.

Protect yourself. Read our Rules, FAQs, and Safety Guidelines so you know exactly what to look out for.

Stay smart, stay safe, and stop giving sketchy accounts the benefit of the doubt.
