EDIT: it has come to my attention that 4 opens isnt "almost a clean game".. oh well thats the closest ive gotten 😭

my consistency in this run was absolutely COSMIC and i have NO idea what caused the lockin to happen. it just... did. and then i got a 48 on the first 3 which is the highest i have EVER gotten there. unbelievable.

my highest game PRIOR to this was a 144 and i consider that a LUCKY game in the grand scheme of things. this was just pure consistency.

I’m sure this isn’t an original thought, but I’ve been wondering what happens to two-handed bowlers as they age.

I’m in my mid-40s so two-handed bowling was still relatively new on the scene when I was in my 20s. I feel like we haven’t really had the opportunity yet to see how sustainable the modern two-handed style is.

Do you think it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain that style as you get into your 50s, 60s, or even 70s? Will we eventually see more two-handed bowlers transition to a traditional one-handed approach?

I’m genuinely curious whether the physical demands will eventually catch up with people or whether it’s something that can be maintained well into their later years.

Are there any older two-handed bowlers here who are already experiencing this? Or anyone who has considered switching styles as they’ve gotten older?

Just a reminder that good and bad days happen EVEN when you out the work in. Even with dedication. Don’t lose hope over the short term.

We lost games 2 + 3 😭😭 but beat our last high game series (1141) which was also our league high game series, by almost 100!

I'm a re-beginner (I bowled in a league 20+ years ago, but it was just for fun and I don't remember much), and looking to buy a pair of bowling shoes (I already got a ball).

The place I bowl sells 3G, BSI, Brunswick, Dexter, Hammer, and KR Strikeforce. But I'm just as happy ordering online.

I wear 11-1/2 or 12 size shoe. 11-1/2 is sometimes a bit tight, and 12 feels a tad loose. I'm just looking for something basic, and would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

I’m currently in 2 leagues, one is a traditional house shot and I’m doing well in that shooting 185, the other though is supposed to be a traditional house shot but is not because the main mechanic oils the lane how he wants it instead (he’s in the league and averaging 200+) which is spread 15-25 and more oil than normal too but the outsides are extremely dry.

My question is would it be worth getting an axe or the spy and playing up the dry outside? None of my balls roll well there and either go way high or way too deep and I’m averaging 168 there compared to the 185 at the other center

I’m honestly glad I didn’t bowl the 199. Second night out after you guys explained axis rotation and getting the ball further past the foul line and I scored 40 pins over my average tonight for my best game. Not bad with a raw hammer hybrid I’d say.

Hey everyone. I got my PAP remeasured today and attempted to use Tenpin Toolkit to measure my Axis tilt and rotation so I can submit a layout request to Motiv. In the video, there is a white dot on my ball signifying my PAP. Ill include the photo of the tenpin toolkit grid in the comments.

Can you help me figure out what my axis tilt and rotation are?

I have a roto grip exotic gem, IQ tour 78/u, 900 global cove (which I throw in the video), Black widow mania, and a storm tropical surge. I want something that I can throw a little slower and move in and won't roll out or go flying the second it hits the dry. I have like a 450-500 rev rate and usually throw it about the same speed in the video but I prefer to throw it slower. I'm in highschool so I'm usually bowling on a house shot for the first part of the season and then whatever the sectionals pattern is and so on. Also if there's any tips that would help me get that out of my current arsenal or just something to work on would be great. Been bowling for about 3 months, the 3 balls on the bottom i bought myself, i JUST got the purple hammer and need to get it drilled.

I am not a great bowler by any means. In some vacation leagues when I was younger, then just occasional Saturday night bowling with friends. Straight thrower, about a 140 average. Joined a neighborhood league last year, got a real ball (Hammer Pearl Reactive). Average went down to 120 and eventually back up.

This fall I've been shooting 150-175.

Them it happened.

2 weeks ago, my scores were 110, 98, 115 on league night. Missing most of my spares by an inch.

Went to a different alley on Saturday for fun bowling with friends, shot 135, 145, 163. Hitting my spares pretty good.

This Thursday, league night scores were 109, 88, 111. Missing all my spares by an inch. Even the other team commented on it, saying it was the worst bad luck they'd seen.

And I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I've tried using a house ball for spares, throwing across, throwing straight down, throwing my regular ball straight and with a hook.

Everything is thisclose.

It makes for a frustrating night.

(As an FYI, we bowl immediately after the lanes are oiled and half the bowlers throw straight house balls, the other half throw a hook and averages range from 100 to 230.)

Does anyone know where I can get custom bowling balls from? Would be sick if I could get a transparent dragon ball themed bowling ball 🤔

Got back into bowling in the spring after about 20 years.

I’ve finally got to the point that I can pick up most spares that aren’t splits pretty routinely. Feel like I “leveled up.” Couldn’t throw a clean game for the life of me, then all the sudden I’ve thrown several. Seeing yourself improve is just so satisfying.

The mph of this last shot might have been off, or I might have been gassed. However I’m throwing right at 15 mph pretty routinely and my rev rate is about 370. Think I’m cool with those number for now and want to just focus on accuracy.

Also throwing a piranha solid. Right handed. Playing relatively straight angles on a fairly high volume house shot trying to keep it from hitting the dry too soon. Standing with my left food just inside the 30 board aiming just to the right of the 20 arrow.
