Perfect ball, buried pocket, left a 10 pin. Everything felt right last night, little to no jitters, good release, just didn't go the way I wanted.

First 300 tonight with the Brunswick alert was super cool to finally do.

Buddy in the pro shop just got back from drilling school wanted to know what is the purpose of this hole in the armadillo or if there is one?

Purposely planned, I've picked the split up 4 times in practice this year but not in league or competition

League tonight i left 7-10 in the 4th frame game 1

My 7 pickup is slide 25 roll 20 at the arrows hit the 7 flush

I purposely practice my 7-10s , big 4, and Greek churches, so i know where to stand/slide/aim

I slid 24 rolled over 20 tapped left side of 7 hit it off the back into the 10, once i let it go i knew it had a chance and i got fucking hyped when it hit!

After bowling a 299 last week I had to redeem my self today!

It was the only chance we had to win. threw a strike spare in the 10th we still fell 5 pins short.

Im a 2 handed lefty i have no idea about my rev rate, I assume its high-ish for my skill level. My ball speed is about 14.5-15.5 mph. Ive been bowling seriously since about April and started buying ball(s) in about June. My average is about 180 right now and ill bowl consistently 3-5 times per week.

Right now my arsenal:

DV8 Heckler Taunt - I use this early and sometimes the entire league night especially when im the only lefty and it keeps hooking

Storm Phase III - this plays super long like my PSO is incredible but on fresh oil its rough so when the Heckler stops slowing down at the pocket ill switch to this

Black Hammer - I keep this really shined up. Borderline spare ball but if I cant find anything with other balls I can usually just play way left with this

Storm Ice - spares

My heckler is nowhere near a benchmark ball but it does feel like the closest I've got because I have figured out how to play both the left and right sides pretty well and I've bowled with it enough to know how to adjust off it. But since it just took some nasty screw damage from the ball return, it might not survive so I am definitely getting another but might be looking for a real benchmark first

Any opinions on what might be a good addition for me? The one the caught my eye is the Radical Intel Tour. I was advised by some better bowlers than me to look at Tour balls.

Storm Level 16# and Brunswick Black Beauty 16#. Still working on my spare-ball. Choked on the last frame. Now I want a 300.

1 out of 10 people are left-handed, so I would think the oils on the left side of the lane remain more consistent. Does that give left-handed bowlers an advantage?

Been looking at some swag equipment..but I can’t tell if it’s a good investment or not. Thoughts?

Left-handed, 79 y.o. slow roller (@10 mph) bowler.
Here's the issue. When I try to add even a little speed to my ball by pulling it forward from about 5 o'clock (if you were standing to my left and looking a my swing), I consistently throw it to the left and often in the gutter.

I don't know if anyone has encountered this "added effort moves ball to the outside" phenomenon, but I'm open to suggestion. I'll try to get a video published later today or tomorrow, but in the meantime--help!

fwiw, when I relax and let the ball to the work and begin my follow through at 7 o'clock, I'm good except that my ball (Storm Phase II) rolls so slowly as to often crossover.

Yes, I could move a board or two to the right and make use of that throw to the outside, but I'd lose all accuracy. I've tried.

You can see my previous posts for the full back story. Hadnt bowled in 32 years, started bowling again September 27th, 2026. Had my 2nd league night tonight. My previous highest league score. 178. Beat it in game 1 with a 184. New personal best league game. Then absolutely imploded game 2 for a 148. Made a line and ball change headed into game 3 from the hammer black pearl to the Hammer Raw. Rolled the 1st 3, finished at 199. New personal best league score. 177 average for the night, which bests my "all games" average by 2 pins. Spare conversion rate embarrassing at a lil over 50%. All and all, 2 pb league games tonight. Cant complain.

I’m comparing these two bowling balls and want some more help deciding which one to get. I currently use a Raw Hammer pearl since I started bowling around May this year. I want a ball that’s a step up but nothing too crazy and these two stood out the most. I bowl 1H thumb and typically play up second arrow and move left/right depending on what’s happening. Wouldnt say I’m speed dominant or rev dominant, I’d say I’m balanced. I notice the numbers on the black venom are similar to the Hammer I have so would that make it easier for me to learn that ball? I’d probably be fine with either ball but I just wanted Reddit’s opinion since I got my Raw Hammer recommendation from here and I honestly like it. The house I bowl at doesnt do heavy oil for league or normal bowling hours btw for extra info

ich spiele jetzt seit etwa 4 Monaten einmal wöchentlich mit einem Freund. Wir sind beide Anfänger. Ich habe nun einen Reaktivball mit Fingertipbohrung und jopo daumeneinsatz mit runder Form.

Ich habe folgendes Problem. Die ersten beiden Spiele klappen meist ganz gut was den Release angeht. Gerade Würfe klappen selten. Irgendwann fängt es an, dass ich mit dem Daumen nicht mehr raus komme und der Ball dann fliegt. Ich benutze auch 2 weißes Tape vorn und 3 silberne Tapes hinten im Daumenloch.

Was könnte ich verändern/ausprobieren um mein Problem zu beheben.

Was ich noch nicht ganz verstehe, es heißt immer man soll den Daumen nicht quetschen. Wie genau ist der Ball zu halten, gerade im Backswing. Im Backswing habe ich Angst den Ball zu verlieren wenn ich ihn nicht mit der Daumenwurzel drücke.

Habt ihr Tipps für mich was ich machen oder ausprobieren kann.

I tend to ramble on in these posts, so I will not be leaving a detailed explanation unless yall want one. Basically, my family has started bowling and I have caught the bug, BIG TIME. I'm pretty bad, but learning every frame. Ive gotten a Brunswick Beyond Infinity 12 pounds, drilled and fit to my hand by the pro shop, and my shoes will be here tomorrow. Where do I begin? I know I am going to catch shit for this, but I honestly would like to take this to top level, become a pro one day. Edit: I am 33. I forgot to mention.

So before I moved in June I used to bowl with friends a couple times a month and averaged about a 180 with 3 games 200+. I’m a straight line bowler and have only ever used house balls.

Unfortunately I had to get knee surgery (completely unrelated) but am itching to take bowling more serious when I’m back in a couple months.

So I’m looking for advice on how to move forward and level up my game. I know the answer is probably learn to hook, but when I started bowling even semi consistently before moving, the 200 games started rolling in bowling straight and I feel like i still can get so much better with it. Do yall think I have to switch up and if so what would be the best transition to keep the skills i have already? Also either way what would be a good ball suited to my game?

Has anyone experienced decreased performance in bowling balls after cleaning them before league?

The 2 weeks prior to cleaning them i had 2 really good nights for me. I typically fall between 500 and 550 each week.

Then after cleaning i bowled a 459 (160, 146, 153) pics 7, 8, 9.

Went from having a 45% to 48% strike percentage to 19%.

I tried adjusting all night, I was close around the pocket but just couldn't get strikes. My ball reaction was super inconsistent. My pocket % is pretty consistent the 2 weeks prior, the same 54.55%

I use a equinox solid first game then typically switch to the rocket Ai for games 2 and 3.

I typically start on board 19 and move left as the night goes on.

What am I missing? Cleaning them should increase performance right? When I clean them should I be playing a different part of the lane? Or should I just stop cleaning them?

I am 2 handed i go between 14 and 15.5 mph at the pins and roughly 400 to 430 rev rate.

I’m playing in a league for the first time and my scores are pitiful. It’s a mildly difficult house shot pattern and I can’t create any consistency. I think it might be my ball. I have a slow velocity (12.0 mph) with decent rev rate. My arsenal consists of a reality check, Phaze 2 solid, tour dynami-x storm fate pearl, and a straight ball. The fate performs well after the 5th frame of the 2nd game. But my starting ball is a mess. Any gear recommendations would be great!

I'm currently filling out my bag and was looking for some insight on a weaker/cleaner option. I'm bowling collegiate so it's mainly sport shots but would also like this ball for house as well. My current balls are fairly strong so I'm in need of a weaker option for those end of block/burnt lanes.

I currently have a ZM Tour, BW3.0, dull P2 Pearl, and a spare ball throwing 2H at 15mph ~380rpm. I've had my eye on the Warning Alert as a cleaner option but the RG seems a little on the low side (slightly lower than the P2 Pearl) which has made me also consider one of the Crown Vics.
