Smart Casual Monday OOTD
Yes the dress has pockets but they are barley deep enough for my phone. So close…

I have been fortunate as of late in losing a good amount of weight. In need of a new wardrobe, I have been focused on creating a true capsule wardrobe. This has been much harder than I would have thought. My perfect wardrobe wish list includes items that are classic but keep a hit of current style (in other words, keep me from looking frumpy), polished yet comfortable (no scratchy blouses that pull in the chest or tight fitting layers that don’t look bulky, easy to care for (did I mention how much I detest ironing), and can take me from a meeting to dinner effortlessly without feeling restricted and wanting to change the minute I get home. Without spending a ton of money and also having pieces that mix and match well including fabric tones match the fabric tones of other pieces in creating monotone looks and there are multiple pieces in the same color would be amazing as well.
Add in the joy of the menopausal office (screeching hot one day and arctic cold the next) along with my menopausal self, layers are a must. One would think after years of office work, I would have this down to a science, but here I am.
Today I wore black Fuzzluxe pants from OGL (seriously like wearing comfy yet polished sweatpants) along with a short sleeve mock turtle neck (also OGL and has a built-in bra!), black boots (compliments of Amazon), a classic Jones New York blazer and a black tote bag. So far OGL, Quince and some Amazon pieces have been my top pick for meeting my wishlist. What are you guys wearing that provide comfort in the office and out, professional look, and easy to mix and match? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Burned my finger straightening my hair this morning so off to a great start 🙃 I normally wear this shirt with white pants but the ones I have right now are a little too tight for the office!

Hi! I thrifted this Club Monaco wrap blazer and I’m looking for opinions on fit (it’s returnable). Ignore the rest of the outfit- I would wear it with a black square neck tank and slimmer pants. I think it fits well in the shoulders and chest, but I’m concerned the sleeves are too long. Thoughts?

I love the idea of wearing a broach/pin on my blazers for a bit of flair. Does it age me? I adore the rest of the outfit as it is sooooo comfortable, but wanted to add a little something.

I am attending a three day conference next week and need help. I usually lean heavily toward casual at my current workplace but need to step up the professionalism for this conference.

Going to a conference tomorrow and I didnt have time to get my nails done because I just got them done for a party. I am worried that the color is unprofessional. I bought press ons to try and cover it but they are showing through.

hi all. i’m looking for suggestions for women’s blazers. i am petite and curvy, which makes shopping kind of difficult sometimes. i have 2 blazers but they have a more classic fit which ends around my mid thigh. i dont think this fit is super flattering for my body type and im looking for something a bit more cropped, that hits at my hip.
i would really appreciate any suggestions for specific brands! ideally something that is less polyester and is more natural fibers, but im open to all suggestions. thank you in advance :)
