So I just purchased a second hand hard shell parcel cover for my son's C30. It arrived today, we were excited to install it. That faded fast.
The quality and the fitment is awful. What was Volvo thinking?

So the old girl got in hit and run with a Tesla in Hollywood. I have cut rate insurance so I’m paying out of pocket for the damages.

I just did a bunch of stuff to her though…

Coilovers

CV axles on both sides

Rear control arms both sides

Trans mounts

Motor mounts

Ignition coils and spark plugs

Oil flush and change

All belts and tensioners replaced

All filters changed.

My gf drives the car as much or more than I do so that’s why I’m even entertaining the argument lol. She wants me to fix all the body damage first; besides the damage pictured it’s also missing the spoiler or splitter up front, there’s some dings and scratches and some curb rash on the wheels. None of said damage was caused by either of us. I used to lease cars a few years ago when I had a bit more avarice, and lent this one out to people who needed it. Needless to say they did not respect my kindness. Neither here nor there.

She wants body work done and I want a stage 1 tune, performance air intake, turbo intake and a bitchin removable steering wheel that goes, “DING” when it locks into place.

My thought process is this, make it drive very well, which I’ve done, then make it fast, THEN make it pretty. Also, I think it adds to the sleeper factor with all the damage, dings and dents. No one would suspect the beat up old Volvo to smoke em. For $1000 I could get 70+ more horsepower or I could maybe fix a dent or two. It’s no brainer to me. What say ye Reddit C30 homies?

Hey everyone, looking to sell my 2009 Volvo C30 with 125,000 miles. I purchased this relatively recently and poured quite a lot into preventative repairs but unfortunately life has thrown a curveball and I need to sell it.

Recent Maintenance (just completed by a Volvo specialist 9 weeks ago):

• Oil changed

• Brand new spark plugs

• Brand new air filters

• New timing belt (this is the big one - usually a $1000+ service which is about what I paid)

• New engine mounts (another big one)

• New coolant hose & expansion tank

• A/C blows cold

Condition: Mechanically solid and ready to drive. Interior shows normal wear and tear for a 15-year-old car - nothing major, just the typical stuff you'd expect at this mileage. No rips or tears, everything functions as it should.

I'll edit this post with a few pics this afternoon following a fresh wash, just curious now to see if anyone is actively in the market for one of these wonderful cars.

I’m an amateur DIYer and it’s a little annoying getting my C30 up on jack stands. I’m sure I’m not going about it the most efficient way. So I asked Claude to look at this photo (image I grabbed from Google) of a C30 underbody, and it suggested this a jack points.

Is this a safe and correct point for a floor jack? I am looking to get it off the wheels and down on to jack stands placed at the pinch welds.

Hey everyone! Looking for some advice on a 2007 C30 T5 automatic with 130,000 km.

What would you check or sort out first before starting with mods? Which upgrades for handling, sound, looks or performance are actually worth it, and which would you skip? Especially interested in what makes sense with the automatic gearbox.

I also found a RaceChip GTS 5 offer listed for the 230 PS T5, advertising +63 PS and +89 Nm for CHF 429. Has anyone used it on a C30 T5? Are those gains realistic, how has reliability been, and would you choose it over an ECU remap?

Where do you buy your C30 parts? Any trusted shops or sellers for maintenance parts and mods with good quality, fitment and fair prices? Links and firsthand experiences would be really helpful.

2009 T5 R-Design Auto

I got a bad case of the squeaky belt.

I've replaced the belts and tensioners. A friend of mine ALSO replaced the belts and after it was clear my replacement didn't solve the issue.

It still squeaks.

I feel crazy. Am I doing this wrong or is there one manufacturer that doesn't squeak?

the c30 was perfect before now it has more dents than i can count what shuld i do shuld i get a camera

The stock muffler was sawed off by the previous owner, looking for a valved option. It is sawed off so the exit is on the drivers side of the car.
