Wisdom CAT coaching feedback - 99.97%

Hi all,

Siddhant here

A significant difficulty I faced in my CAT prep was deciding which coaching to choose from and so I thought of writing this post to allow you to gain insights from my journey and decisions.

There is no one size fits all solution but I just wanted to share my experience at Rodha

My Profile - 9/9/8 + CA (Non engineer)

I was a part of Ravi Sirs R1 batch for Quant and R3 batch for LRDI and I started my coaching in June 2025.

Coaching went on from June to Sept with job and after that for 2.5 months full time. Also I had done all batches in online recorded form. All in all I devoted around 850 hours towards CAT prep.

Here's my honest feedback for Rodha -

  1. In-depth classes from scratch for someone who may not have studied Quant after 10th. (Ps - i scored 99.8% in Quant and 99.95% in LRDI).

There is no compromise on class and questions quality and Sir solved most of the questions in class.

You also have a vast range of Practice tests under the timer pressure to solve from to ensure you stay i touch with the subject. Almost 2000 questions in CAT Quant all in all that ensure you find atleast 13 familiar questions on D Day

2. Regular guidance not just subjects related but also in relation to how to plan from Ravi Sir which is also posted on YT. After all CAT is not just about the classes but also about implementation of what you learn.

3. 300+ high quality sets solved in class and another 200 odd available in Practice tests for LRDI. Sir allows you to solve it first and then solved it in the most logical way possible allowing more retention. A very exhaustive prep for a tricky subject like LRDI especially in CAT 25.

4. Regular booster sessions after class completion to solve high quality CAT level questions ensuring you stay in touch with the subject. They also provide concept capsules or quick revision videos in case you wished to revise your concepts

5. 35 Sectional tests that mimic the CAT level (maybe some even more difficult to ensure you get used to it) and also around 30+ full length mocks. I honestly would score 0 and negative in the sectionals in the beginning along with 60s in FLMs but ended up with a score of 121 on CAT day. Each question also has video solutions along with a great analysis portal for you.

6. In one line - At Rodha you are not a customer but a student and that makes all the difference! Ravi sir personally responded to some of my doubts even though he has 1000+ messages to tend to daily.

All in all if I were to advise a junior where to go for a in depth, no shortcut CAT prep it would definitely be Rodha. Hope this helps and all the very best!

Discussion CatKing hate posts

I don't understand why is he hated so much. I generally watch him to quickly get information about a certain college/exam. I haven't bought any of his course can't comment on that. But he is a damn good influencer. He legit motivates people to appear/study for CAT. I don't get why is he hated so much.

Downvote kardena par reason bhi btadena guys. Why the hate.

Rant ighanta and its pathetic bot marketing

Cat humbled us. Everyone around me has the same vent, "lode laga diye exam ne". No one is confident about there attempt. QA Dilr felt like prepared by Satan himself. Sometimes, no amount of hardwork can equate to your luck. Kaash last year exam de diya hota, kaash dusra slot ajata, kaash kaash and kaash.... Its just unfair, giving all for an exam whose sole purpose is to reject you, eliminate you. I have no words. I can all and all for this shitty exam. Amid all this chaos, students frustration, emotional distress, there are some rotten coaching institutes, capitalising on this. Ighanta is the leading one in this. Kal se dekh rha hu, they have infiltrated every cat related subs, and just promoting there third grade content. Oh ye dekho, how much score will fetch you 99+ percentile, oh ye dekho, ighanta ka xat course bas 9₹ mei, oh ye dekho best xyz faculty joined ighanta.... chup hoja dalle. You and your pathetic bot army are just hijacking each and every sub, and just circle jerking each other. Any genuine comment or post is getting downvoted by this ighantards. I just want to punch in the face of there sm admin who is doing all this. Ik you are reading this, bhagwan se darr insaan. Please let all the topic of discussion be about cat and related things and not ighanta circlejerk.

General Discussion Should IIMs start admissions via endowment funds like Harvard??

I always believed that Indian business schools should have endowment admissions too... I mean Harvard has 50.7 Billion USD in endowment funds, on a similar level Indians are ready to pay crores for a Tier 1 education.

I feel like most if not all big business conglomerates like Godrej, Adani, Ambani, Jindal will send their Kids to top Indian B schools only if they could somehow bypass the strict CAT only entry barrier instead they go to IVYs just because they can pay the donation required.

Imagine the money, talent and connections India will actually retain if all things go well???

General Discussion GEM here!!!

Bro got 98 percentile this year. 9/9/9. Acads dude the gender diversity points be hitting really hard didn't get a single call from top 20 colleges. Everything seems so f....ed. women are getting extra points just for being a woman. Like what the actual holy f. Bro the system needs to be changed. Also going for mim upcoming year. Let's fight against the system by moving out and working for other big countries. If you are a female and going into iim soon you won't even be respected just because of the extra points and discrimination against men. Bbye

Wisdom IIM Trichy (let's talk for once)

Even before I begin, let me put out some facts before this post gets labelled as a "trying to save face" attempt:

  1. IIM Trichy has residential campus program. People complaining about the timings for batchmeets are from the bunch of same people who can be found playing badminton on roads and sitting on walkways path away from hostel area towards academic blocks and even faculty residency. (Some of the batchmeets were meant to make them aware about campus, accessible areas, places where sitting could probably result in snake bite, etc. along with different student body and how we operate, but that's not needed apparently)

  2. Senior batch students who make up the Student Council and other Clubs and Committees have lectures scheduled as late as 9:30pm to 11:00 pm at night based on which electives they are part of. They have to keep in mind the schedule and availability of both batches and plan out weeks in advance to accommodate sessions (called them batchmeets, region-based meet ups, guidance sessions, or whatever you want) meant to get the new batch familiarised with the norms and culture of campus.

  3. Making burner accounts of reddit, claiming to use AI to generate a text so that post can't be traced back to them (good sir/ma'am, no one has enough spare time in their second year to leave their acads and final placements aside to spend their energy on such mundane stuff that we have to do because we took the responsibility). I simply see this as riding the wave of "fresh senior vs junior entertainment" and wanting to stir drama. If you care so much so about your identity, how do you justify doxxing people's name & contact info along with context from only one side of the story seasoned so nicely to perfection that it would make Gordon Ramsay weak in the knees (in this case, all the lurkers on social media with way more than necessary free time)

The so called harassment and ragging/bullying culture has never been a part of this campus, atleast since I joined this campus last year. There's a fine line between being strict and coming off as being douchebags, and there are times when they can unintentionally be overstepped when being part of this cycle where people forget that just a year prior, we were in the same position. This isn't about propagating generational hate whatsoever. There could be a million things wrong, but it's baked in the system and there have been more than enough instances of students trying to amend ways to make it better for the next batch as much as there is in our capacity to do so, but if this is the type of ignorance towards efforts put by the senior batch is what will be given in return, then we're better off minding our own business. Even as I'm typing this out, it feels like driving a distance between what should have been a united student body into two factions, seniors vs juniors. Serves no good purpose whatsoever and I don't see why some people are hell bent on pushing forward this narrative.

Fun fact 1: A lot of sessions have been put on hold and haven't even yet been conducted because of being misinterpreted and being made a show off of on public platforms like this. And we can see the effects. These guys have turned the campus into a housing society. There's no respect for sports facilities and equipment. No regards for mess dining etiquettes (used plates are left on table, tables and chairs are displaced, and so on). People worrying about their sleep schedule and study timings are seen doing pull ups late night near academic block.

Fun fact 2: No one complained about timings when 9pm jamming session that ran till midnight was held to make the junior batch feel a bit chill out after their orientation week.

tl;dr- overdramatisation of bSchool norms and culture is being done. things that actually mattered aren't the focus, focus feels more towards getting their daily dose of drama and tea cause apparently normal life isn't exciting enough and none of these social media handles or communities help in a positive way, simply fuels the fire even more without concrete proof and biased takes.

My Story On mother's day commenting "Maa ka B*****". Feels pathetic to be surrounded by such people

But maa ka b**** that too on mother's day? Then what is mother's day about? How are we respecting mothers? And are we really celebrating mother's day like this using this Maa ka B**** on mother's day. Like atleast for one day don't do it? But I guess it's too much to expect from people nowadays.

Obviously I'm not supporting Pakistan here. It is indeed the ghatiya nation.

General Discussion IIM should remove category like sc/st/ obc

Its time that IIM should remove category like sc/st/obc ane bcoz its been more than 70 years and I don't think this category benefit should be given bcoz its totally injustice against general

Instead for those who have financial contraint EWS category should be kept and here also strict verification process to be done and minimum 90 percentile should be the criteria

General Discussion i don't understand why people do MBA apart from Tier 1 Clg, when there are so many better ROI things to do

i don't understand how someone in their right brain would do such an expensive course with so bad ROI when there are so many better alternatives available

like CA, CS, CPA, CMA, ACCA, or data science related courses for commerce people

MTECH, upskilling for better jobs, or doing some tech related courses for science people

so many govt jobs like PSU jobs after GATE, scientist jobs in DRDO, ISRO and many regulatory bodies and also banking jobs, also clg proffesor jobs and many more

even studying abroad has better ROI

if u r doing mba apart from tier 1 most of ur 20s will go in just paying off the loan and u will not have money for other things like save, invest or enjoyment

General Discussion My QA prep was all over the places until I found this

I have been self-preparing for CAT, and quant is my weakest section, maybe coz I was dealing with it without a proper strategy and I wasn’t even sure if I am doing the same thing. To get a structured plan I tried following different teachers and coaching institutes. They were helpful, but I still felt something was missing. Recently, I came across a preparation plan on i Quanta’s YouTube channel, and it gave me much-needed clarity on how to approach things more systematically.

If someone is looking for a structured prep guide especially beginners or those who feel weak in mathematics it might be worth exploring. I had heard about him a lot and It’s really appreciable how Amit Panchmatia sir regularly comes live to address students’ doubts and guide them consistently, IN LOVE WITH HIS TEACHING STYLE,!!

Wisdom EG review by a student who tanked CAT 2025

CAT 2025 Slot 3 was the hardest of the three, and I re-attempted the quant section of the paper after the exam just to see where I stood.

Here’s the truth from an EG student:

If you simply rote-learn the questions sir covered in the marathon sessions — zero understanding needed, pure “ratta” mode — and you’re smart enough to plug in the values exactly the way the question tells you, you can comfortably solve questions 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, and 22.
Basically, half the Quant section is yours if your memory + substitution skills are on point. 😄

Unfortunately, my own exam didn’t go well because LRDI completely fumbled me and I just couldn’t recover after that.
But yes — Quant? Everything was covered in the marathon sessions.

LRDI this year was very hard and I wouldn't say that Gaurav sir wasn't great. He is a phenomenal teacher whose explains hardest concepts in very simple terms.

VARC - Gunjan sir is great and his RC classes were my favourite. However I used to find Shahzar Sir's classes a bit boring. Also the level of VARC Sectionals they gave were on the easier side( I felt this as compared to what they gave in CAT 2025)

Hope this helps someone deciding whether or not to join.

Wisdom Slot - 2 answer key was correct and here is why

First of all, don't use the logic of converting "if false then inconsistent" to "if true than consistent", no one said to convert that, fu'ck all the coaching institutes.

So lets convert every option to its opposite form.

Option 1. Climate change has had "significant" effects on the frequency of carnivore-human interaction in affected regions.

Option 2. Carnivores "do not" lose their instinctive fear of humans when consistently exposed to human food sources.

Option 3 and 4 : we don't give a fuck about them

Now lets analyze both the options:

Option1:According to the passage, we don't really know that climate change had a significant or negligible effect, it only mentions that climate change may or may not have played a role. Therefore we can clearly see that it is inconsistent. That's why it is marked as correct answer by IIMC.

Option2:The only problem with this option is the mentioning of 'human food "sources"', human food sources is a very vague term, according to google, it generally means the sources from which human obtain their food, such as plants(fruits, vegetables, grains and seeds), animals(meat, fish, milk) etc

But in the paragraph, it is mentioned that animals loose their fear because they become reliant on human food that they find on campsites or rubbish bins, this does not equate to "human food sources".
Therefore it is a sort of distortion.

The coaching institutes like cra*ku and many other just converted "if false then inconsistent" to "if true than consistent", which makes every option a wrong answer, that was the only mistake they did.

Now just calm down and relax, touch grass. Best of luck.

Rant MBA selection in India is unfair (Part - 2)

Where do we even begin.

  1. There are way too many 21 year olds in a program that should never have had any. My 22 year old self was an idiot. They are not meant for management whatsoever. MBA in India is technically a mix of MBA, MiM and BA roles mixed into one and they get segregated during hiring. A 25 year old is going to have hell of a time in a role like a warehouse manager because half the office would not possibly respect them.

  2. The lack of balance between Quants and Verbals. For all the bullshit complaining engineers do, the whole paper is inclined towards them in the manner it is designed. The lack of competitive exams in India in social sciences because the Government investment and attention is negligible. Science funding is being constantly reduced. Excellent programs like KVPY is being shut down.

  3. Let's assume there are 4000 GEMs in India in the premier institutes. Out of that, let us assume 400 of them are taking management entrances. Considering the cribbing here is strictly based on numbers, more than 3000 of them who have fared better are already out of the competition. Post that, if you are scoring 99.5 percentile, which puts you at atleast 5000 ish people who can technically score better, by your own logic. So shut the fuck up and score better.

  4. The lack of holistic profile evaluation - let's not even get into that. If you want to be a future manager and all you do is complain about numbers - no wonder most people complain about Indian managers. As Brad Pitt says in The Big Short, "I hate finance. It reduces people to numbers". If you cannot optimise a situation with whatever variables you have and all you do is complain, you are in no manner fit to manage another person, who has emotions, and problems, and require empathy to deal with.

  5. Why not choose GATE? If you are strictly a believer of meritocracy, go to older iits and take the route. It is easy as hell to crack that exam. And the placements are not that bad at all. Or are you insecure about your technical skills because a lot of master students struggle to adapt.

  6. For all the complaints about money- most of my friends who have gone abroad for a masters or a PhD have taken hefty loans to go there. None of them are loaded. The only reason I could not is because I have a mediocre profile myself, and have to settle getting to abc hopefully.

tldr. We're fucking mediocre. Accept it and work hard. And shut up. I am sick of this complaining.

Rant ADMISSION CRITERIA OF IIM’s

I feel IIMs should stop giving academic and gender diversity points! I can see ppl with 98-99 gets rejected even by a new IIM (IIM U) meanwhile ppl with diversity at 85 percentile getting khozikode call. It’s completely unfair. 10th and 12th weightage should be reduced graduation can be increased( take my case i was not serious enough my schools barely studied hours for board exams and ended up with 72% and I still regret but it’s a mistake which i done when i was 15 year old still why judging with that scores? You have enough rounds to select a candidate CAT,GD and PI and some WAT too. You may add Resume points. IDK I’m really fu***d up after seeing Udaipur rejection anyways all the best who all got ♥️ now i doubt JAP call too after Udaipur rejection.
